The Young Protectors: Double-Cross Chapter Three—Page 4

The Young Protectors: Double-Cross Chapter Three—Page 4 published on 41 Comments on The Young Protectors: Double-Cross Chapter Three—Page 4

The whole reason I started making these comics was so folks like us could have comics just as good as what the straight boys have been getting. And then we get a page like this—and I honestly can’t think of anyone else doing anything better.

That first panel! Oh, my word! I really am so lucky to be working with these artists!

ALSO , over at the Community Site, patron Adam I. has decided to start re-reading The Young Protectors from the very beginning and share his thoughts 1. As you know, we’ve covered a lot of ground over the last 8 years 1. It’s a lot of fun for me to have readers look back at where we came from. If you get a chance, hop over to the True Fan Lounge and join in! :slightly_smiling_face:

ANNIVERSARY PATRON THANK YOUS

Your continued support has always been the reason I’ve been able to continue making this comic. And I am especially grateful to the our readers who continue to support this comic month-after-month during this time. Thank you for letting me continue to create these pages. Thank you for being the real superheroes of this comic.

And so, I hope everyone will please join me in wishing a very special Woolfpack anniversary “thank you!” to those Patrons who have been supporting our work for a year or more!

First let me thank pack members who have been supporting our work for the last 12 months as of this week (Apr 19-25):

Thomas and Joseph J.

(You totally rock, Thomas and Joseph!)

I’d like to send out a big thank you to a member of the Woolfpack who has been supporting our work for 24 months of this week (Apr 19-25):

Katie E.

(Two years of support! Thank you so much, Katie!)

And let me also send out my biggest howl to those members of the Woolfpack who have been supporting this comic and our work from the very beginning!

These are the awesome readers who have been supporting me and this comic for 60 months (5 years!) as of this week (Apr 19-25):

Gioia-Rodica, John, Kabbalist, Christina E., Brian F., David H., Eric L., Laurent M. and George T.

Thank you so much, Gioia-Rodica, John, Kabbalist, Christina, Brian, David, Eric, Laurent and George! Y’all are so awesome!

Thank you all so much for your amazing, ongoing support! It’s the consistent support that is what really allows me to continue making this comic. You all truly are superheroes!

So!

So! Flyboy is making a spectacular escape from The Man and his minions. But he seems to be in a tremendous amount of pain. How far away will he actually be able to get? And will it be enough?

Tune in this Saturday to find out! Hope to see you there! :grinning:

Oh, that just looks fantastic. Reminds me of some of the stuff Quitely did on WE3.

I’m looking forward to seeing it colored, for that extra pop.

  2. I so hope it was only the glass shattering :persevere:

  3. Fantastic artwork on this page. I don’t remember ever seeing a panel like this one. I’m also thankful that we get a brief look at Spooky’s leg injury. The skin seems intact, at least, but I imagine it’s a bit burnt.

  4. Interesting. In what way?

At the very least, these guys will definitely feel it in the morning.

To be honest with you, I don’t think there is one. While writing the script I was looking for a comic book reference for what I had in mind. I just assumed there would be a Daredevil or Lucifer comic with something like this. But I found nothing—and my Google-fu is pretty good.

Adam just knew how to make this happen,. He’s just that good.

    Yes.

The 3-dimensionality of it. I’d post some panels, but they are rather violent.

  6. Understood. But thank you for explaining.
