Ambrosia is not used to taking no for an answer.

Please note: These are work-in-progress colors. Vero should get me the final colors soon.

So!

So! I don’t know exactly what’s going on in those last few panels, but Flyboy sure had a big reaction! What’s that about? And will Ambrosia finally convince Spooky to agree to take the case?

Tune in this Saturday to find out! Hope to see you there! 😀

Mitch may be worried about cooties.

    (Also, called it?)

  2. Oh wow, now this I call desperation on her part  I mean it speaks for her that she apparently wants to save her brother so much but making moves on a minor? No, lady, no :underage:

  3. LMAO! Don’t think she cares or may care and well, it can take more than two to tango!

  4. She grinned at me. ‘You got types?’
'Only you darling - lanky brunettes with wicked jaws.
    Dashiell Hammett, The Thin Man

    {That’s who she reminds me of - Nora Charles}

  5. dswxyz says:

Um, I’m not claiming Spooky’s fibbing here, but if casting a single spell can doom a man, then some clarification regarding the Annihilator’s use of magic is needed. Did the Annihilator not use a spell to send himself and Kyle to Hell? Did the Annihilator not chant a spell to help create a second Key of Paradise? If those weren’t spells, what was really happening there? Did the Platinum Priestess give Duncan some nonsense words to say and any magical effects were really done by her?

Or did the Annihilator’s power of immunity to physical damage somehow save him from magical craziness? Like, we know from his time in Hell that Duncan isn’t completely immune from physical damage in some magical circumstances, but maybe it was enough for save himself from his own spellcasting? But then… would Sircea risk corrupting Duncan that way if she too knew that spellcasting a single time would ruin him as her strongman pawn?

  6. Nate says:

It’s possible that Sircea actually cast the spell, and just gave Duncan an activation phrase to finish it. Sort of a “last link in the chain” situation.

  7. Whooooops, Ambrosia, slow your roll there!!! Mitch ain’t having it either. also, hate to break it to you Miss VD but unless your bro’s taken a detour to hell, or has existing powers (?) or a sorceress helping him out (??), magic probably hasn’t treated him kindly.

  8. It’s a good question, David. My intention at the time of writing that scene was what Nate suggested. But thinking about it now, there are other reasons that would have made him safe, or safer, than a non-extraordinary individual. The full Fallen arc might just make that more clear.

    “Miss VD” – ha!

I could picture an educational film for the troops in the 1940s that might have featured such a character…

  9. Nate says:

Every once in a while, my brain works.

  10. Gotta love all of the creative thoughts here. Indeed, if “true magic” doomed you with one spell, there would be no evil druids to fight nor any good magicians around either. Noted, Spook’s is indeed a special case. Who else trained in hell?
