The Young Protectors: Legendary Chapter One—Page 10

177 Comments on The Young Protectors: Legendary Chapter One—Page 10

May I?

Y’all have been amazing over on the Patreon page. We’ve added 38 new Patrons since the beginning of the month, and are now at over $5,575/month in support! That’s less than $425 away from me breaking even after paying my artists, rent, etc. Thank you so much!

And last week, I posted a special treat for Patrons! A few months back, I asked Henrique of Inkstand Studios to create a special romantic pin-up involving Kyle and Spooky. He wanted me to come up with an idea, so I said “Let’s have them kissing on top of a monster they defeated.” Well, he (and Alex Sollazzo who did the colors) just knocked it out of the park!

Comments from Patrons have included: “VICTORY KISS. I’m loving this. One of my fave ‘extra art’ so far. This IS a hoot. This is sexy and funny.”, “What a Great ‘pin-up’. This is another great piece of art in The Young Protectors series!”, and  “This is awesome! The colors, the details, the expressions…everything is wonderful. But what I mostly love, is that in that moment, surrounded by smoke, dead monsters, falling buildings, firefighters, etc., they only have eyes for each other. This might be my favorite drawing to date!”

Here’s a sneak preview:

$5+ Patrons can download the full Safe-For-Work pin-up immediately. And $10+ Patrons will be sent a high-res version with over double the resolution on the 10th of October!

There are lots of great benefits to being a Patron (you can see them all here along with an explanation of what the heck Patreon is), and you’d really be helping me out if you became one too. If you’re enjoying our work here and would like to see it continue (and would like to get access to all kinds of special benefits),

please take a moment to watch the video on my Patreon page and consider becoming a Patron.

So, our heroes are rolling in bed! There’s neck kissing! There’s oo-ing! And now Spooky’s tugging on Kyle’s shirt! What does that mean?! Is Spooky curious about the fabric? The quality? The fit? Will Kyle be willing to tell him those things after Spooky tried to take a bite out of his neck? And when do I get my ninja robot attack?!

Tune in this Saturday to find out! Hope to see you there! 😀

  • Hello sexy abs.

  • Weee!

  • I like that they look like they’re laughing and having fun.

    • strangeangel24601

Nothing more off-putting than a supposedly sexy scene where nobody is smiling.

      • Madock345

Definitely! That’s exactly what puts me off most porn. It’s so serious and unhappy looking. Cheer up!

  • *fans self*

    • Klaus

Gives new meaning to the term “fan girl”.

  • Those ninja robots damn better wait to attack until afterwards, or I will go super-ninja on the ninjas xD

I love neck kisses, and love how playful they are together. They have not done this before, but it’s clear that they’re comfy around- and trust each other.

    • What if it’s just a very small ninja robot?

      • At least it would give me a better chance of wining if they show up 😉

      • William Clapie

        Ninja robots? Huh?

  • davefragments

I hope he has warm hands.

    • Madock345

The alternative can be fun too XD

    • Wayne Lunkwitz

Looks like everything is warming up just fine …..to me.

    • William Clapie

Dunno. LMBO, might perk things up!

  • Bei Dawei

That looks like a familiar pose.
    “Laampros ia ia cthulu patronum!”

    • Shhhhh!! No spoiling the mood here.

      • Bei Dawei

I wasn’t going to mention this, but what are the odds that “Spooky” is really a shape-shifting Circea, poised to strike?

        • Madock345

          Ooooh

          I like it

By which I mean “That would be a cool scene but Kyle would probably be too traumatized to ever get a boner again if him having sex managed to unleash evil for a third time.”

        • Curt Clark

Alex wouldn’t go three-for-three on traumatic sexual experiences for Kyle…not if he has a heart and soul…T_T

      • Good thing Spooky doesn’t have a cat. Having a cat make a massive stinker when you are having “fun” with someone is hilarious, but also a major turn off. We laughed at the cat’s timing, but we just couldn’t get back into things. Mood Killed.

    • Curt Clark

That sounds like an invocation to summon my character from my boyfriend’s video reviews…:p

    • Klaus

Just what I thought. Kyle does not have good memories of this position.

      • Wayne Lunkwitz

Maybe it depends more on who has him in this “position”.

  • Curt Clark

Like I said on Patreon, this dispels all my doubts about Julie being able to deliver on these scenes. She brings a cute playfulness to the proceedings that contrasts nicely with the heavy “romance novel” vibes of…well, last time.

  • Brian Hopkins

Spooks needs to get out of that bulky hoodie!

    • Curt Clark

I think his pudge is kind of adorable…then again, four of my five boyfriends are at the very least pudgy themselves.

      • Morgan

One of my favorite things about spooky is that he’s got a bit of chubbiness going on. It’s so refreshing. (Also, he blurs the line between ‘cute’ and ‘hot as shit’)

  • unknownlight927

I’m all for a all out Ninja Robot fight, but PLEASE Alex, not until after… otherwise you may find yourself dealing with your own Ninja Robot ATTACK!! 🙂 🙂

    • NoiseShaper

I think Kyle would have plenty of firepower available to get rid of any distractions…!

    • Curt Clark

Any Ninja Robots who interrupt these proceedings would shortly find themselves doing their best impressions of the T-1000’s steel mill scene in Terminator 2.

  • Curt Clark

…is that not the point of the exercise? :p

  • Cydney Sabin

Is it getting hot in here, it is it just these two?

  • Klaus

Can’t have that, can we now?

  • Wayne Lunkwitz

Looks like I missed camping…..but at least I showed up on the right day!

  • TwilightDreamer

Haha! Knew Spooky wouldn’t stay on bottom XP

    • Madock345

I’m laying down bet that he won’t stay on top either

      • TwilightDreamer

Haha! XD if they tussle for top position, then I’ll be cheering XP

  • Cecilie Muldkjær Bredesen

All the love for this couple <3 <3

  • unknownlight927

One of my biggest questions revolving around a Spooky/Kyle sex scene was whether Spooky would keep his hat on or not. Now that it has seemingly been answered, its time to ask a more basic question. When it comes to both Spooky and Kyle: Socks off or will they keep them on? 🙂

    • ComicBookGoddess

I was more wondering how serious Spooks is about being on top…

      • They are young, I am sure they have enough stamina to try out both ways. …For Science!

      • Klaus

        Spooky is flexible.

  • Bei Dawei

From sitting on the lower edge of the bed, they moved to a position in which Kyle is standing (against the bed) and Spooky, lying back, wraps his legs around him.
This page opens with them further up the bed, and Kyle on the bottom. There are some motion lines behind Spooky.
So Spooky, while reclining, managed to lift Kyle, then flip him over–all while shifting his legs from the outside to the inside.

    • Madock345

      Magic

    • Klaus

Or maybe a few seconds have passed between the two page. Spooky could e.g. have stood up and guided Kyle down on the bed.

  • Wayne Lunkwitz

Good point Noise Shaper…….as long as the laughing stops when the shorts come off!

  • Cman65

Don’t you hate it when the tubby one wants to be on top 😉

    • Palpad100 .

      I think it’s hot.

  • bronakopdin

    x3
that’s all I can say about it today
    x3

  • Will Parkinson

    And now comes the call…

  • Klaus

That look Kyle gives Spooky in the last panel.

    • Madock345
      • I had not seen that video before. And now my heart has been lifted.

        • Madock345

Well then, I guess I’ll have to take credit if Spooky turns out to be wearing a sequined speedo under those jeans XD

        • William Clapie

LMFAO. Couldn’t have chosen a better name for what they do

  • Ian Corral

    Incorrect.

    • fujoshifanatic

To each his own. For me, sex between friends allows for the element of play, and if you’re not smiling when you’re playing, you’re missing out on part of the fun.

      • Ian Corral

There is no such thing as sex between friends. It’s an act that just complicates the relationship. But then again it’s a comic so it’s not supposed to be reality.

It’s also false that you have to smile while playing. Also sex is anything but play. It’s humans at their most vulnerable.

        • I have had sex with a few of my friends and it didn’t complicate anything. I also find sex can be playful with lots of smiling. To each their own. ^_^

          • Ian Corral

Sorry, but you’re wrong in this one. It’s not a “to each their own” sort of thing. That kind of talk ignored the long term aspects of such actions.

          • Ian Corral

Those who find sex playful have something wrong with them.

          • Ian – I’m not sure where you’re going with all this, but in expressing your point of view, you have not been using a tone of respect for your fellow commenters over the last few comments.

Lines have to be drawn in life, can’t have too many “to each their own” ways of thinking.

That careless embrace of subjectivity leads right to nihilism.

          • It’s not your job to police nihilism in this forum, Ian. I have given you a warning. You either understand what I am asking of you and will use a tone of respect in your comments on this site from now on, or you will lose your commenting privileges in this Comments Section.

          • bandanajack

yes, i had missed that closing, and i concur and appreciate that

          • William Clapie

Sex with friends. Does that include childhood to late teen experiments?

          • It might? I never had such experiences so I wouldn’t be able to give an informed opinion on the matter.

          • William Clapie

thought that was common. hum. I must have had a weird childhood

          • My childhood was weird in its own way. I just never had an experimental phase with my friends. I would have needed friends that would have hung out with me outside of school for that.

          • William Clapie

            O. Never mind. Lol. A lot of boys usually have a “show me” time. Kinda sorry you didn’t. It helps eliminate some of the mystery of the body I think.

          • My childhood had its own quirks.

          • William Clapie

            don’t need to know!

        • I haved a friend of nearly 20 years that I’ve had sex with several times over the years. Not often, but it happens. Never has it ruined friendship-first, and never will, because we both knew from the start that neither wanted more. Just because it may not work for you, it can work for others.

          • Ian Corral

Your anecdote means nothing against the data.

  • Jason Moon

    Ooh, nooky from Spooky! 🙂

  • Toli Bera

Looks like things are really….. Heating up. *slides on sunglasses, gets on motorcycle, and ramps over 17 schoolbuses*

  • Tal’Ki

I really love how happy they both look <3 That's love right there

  • Earl Patterson

    Here sex come

  • Wayne Lunkwitz

    True.

  • Gaz Hawkins

let hope the ninja robots wait until after we get the great sex between these two…. unless they are ninja sex robots of course

  • Jeff Baker

Mmmmmmm! (That would have me shooting off fire blasts! 🙂 )

  • Ian Corral

No. Anecdotes are what is known as “not data”.

    • NoiseShaper

Anecdotes are individual data points and valid as such, and even just a single anecdote does in fact say that something is possible, it just can’t on its own say that it’s common or that it necessarily applied to everybody else. But even a representative survey can’t actually claim the latter.

Anyway, human relations are complicated and people are individuals, and that’s a good thing.

I can absolutely make statements about myself, but in most cases it is difficult or impossible to make strong statements about somebody and even more so about everybody else because there simply are too many different views, experiences an characters, and there aren’t many things really everybody agrees on, even though we often wish they did. It’s just not the case, as much as we might like that.

      • Ian Corral

Human relationships aren’t nearly as complex as people think they are. We are quite deterministic creatures at the end of the day. I used to think we were complicated but we really aren’t, especially with neuroscience catching up.

Anecdotes (especially individual ones) don’t speak anything as the the possibility of something. The only way they can is if multiple ones end up saying the same thing to the point that an experiment can be performed.

Janet Weiss: I was feeling done in

    Couldn’t win

    I’d only ever kissed before

    Columbia : You mean she?

    Magenta: Uh huh

    Janet Weiss:

I thought there’s no use getting

    Into heavy petting

    It only leads to trouble

    And seat wetting

Now all I want to know

I’ll have to listen closer to the lyrics this time around…….Rocky Horror Picture Show runs on TV here……every year on Halloween.

      comic book.
I mentioned to Alex before that I loved that he had come out with the super-hero genre with the idea of different sexual tastes involved. Why not? He is a great thinker I think. Love the work, it’s not blatant and you are free to like it or dislike it. The outcome and doubts of Duncan? WOW! That was and is a great character. Still a comic tho. I have hundreds of books, love tales, I don’t have to examine them for fun. Too much Davefragments?

      • davefragments

My comment wasn’t aimed at the comic or the complexity of relationships or Alex. I’m sorry you had that impression.
Like you, I like Alex’s characters and their interactions.

        • William Clapie

I do write somewhat like an uneducated buffoon don’t I? Lol. I know what you intended in your comment. Some folks get way to “heated” and off topic. This comic is intended for a form of entertainment and fun, yes?

          • William Clapie

My apologies to Davefragemnets as well. I had intended that comment to be in support of you. I asked “Too much Davefragments” to ask if I had gone overboard in the idea of supporting the comic. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I have that problem verbally as well. I confuse many people and I don’t intend to. but it happens. sorry

  • Ian Corral

Tell that to those who claim psychic experiences or alien abductions when they don’t hold up under scrutiny. There are plenty of personal accounts that when investigated end up being rather mundane. It proves that such things are impossible to have.

That’s what anecdotes are, personal experiences. They aren’t data. They aren’t proof. Claim of existence requires multiple instances of proof, otherwise it could be labeled an anomaly. That’s how science works.

And human relationships are simple, not complex. But that doesn’t make them easy to handle. The short sighted view is believing them to be more complicated than they actually are out of some outdated sense of wonder. The more you learn the more you see how simple things end up being. I also said that we are deterministic. If you know the history you know the human.

  • D. G.

    Luv the neck kiss.

  • They’re so cute and playful on this page. Having a great time with each other. This whole scene makes me happy.

  • Snorlaxation

    CUTIES!!!!!!

  • davefragments

Colonel Tigh, please plot a hyperlight trajectory from here to Ragnar

    • davefragments

by the way – – – – SYFY channel is starting a BattleStar Galactica marathon.

      • Wayne Lunkwitz

Battlestar was good in the old days with Lorne Greene at the helm……never got into the new incarnation.

        • davefragments

          I’m exactly the opposite.
However, I am finding these repeats not as much fun as I remembered them to be. There’s lots that I don’t care for.

          • Wayne Lunkwitz

My eldest sister talked me into watching a new show on FOX…….If you ever watched or were a fan of the original Star Trek……this new show The Orville…..would be like a live version of what MAD magazine could do to Star Trek!

          • davefragments

I only made it through three scene of ORVILLE and turned it off. I have a friend who thinks ORVILLE is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I think he lacks a functioning brain and I told him so. It’s more me than the shows.

          • Wayne Lunkwitz

I wasn’t planning on watching it , but when my sister who generally isn’t into TV of any kind talked highly of it after seeing the previews….I watched it from the first episode….so totally unlike the original Star Trek.

          • davefragments

the satire website “The Duffel Blog” had an article about a brand psanking new first lieutenant who promises the platoon that he will not “F” up his first assignment and it’s the wrong platoon.
When the Captain of the Orville explored the toilet habits of a crew member, I turned it off.
            I’d rather watch Opera.

          • Wasn’t The Orville supposed to be a bit like Galaxy Quest?

          • davefragments

            If only it were…

          • stickfigurefairytales

I got that impression from the commercials for it, but based on what I’ve heard, it really isn’t in practice.

          • What a shame.

…now I kind of want to watch Galaxy Quest

          • stickfigurefairytales

Watching Galaxy Quest is always an excellent choice.

          • I love Fred and Sir Alexander and Gwen

          • stickfigurefairytales

“It’s the simple things in life that you cherish.”

          • “At least your character had a part! My interview was about how my boobs fit into the uniform!”

          • Wayne Lunkwitz

I never watched Galaxy Quest…….exploration vessel says Star Trek to me.

          • stickfigurefairytales

I highly recommend it! It’s essentially a Star Trek parody in which the actors of a long-cancelled Star Trek-like tv show are mistaken for the characters they play by a race of aliens who need their help.

          • stickfigurefairytales

            And it’s amazing.

          • Wayne Lunkwitz

            Oh…..OK I did see that…..was not impressed

          • stickfigurefairytales

Really? Aw, too bad. I’m very fond of it.

  • Wayne Lunkwitz

    Hello campers!

    • davefragments

      It’s Camping Time again.

      • So it tis, so it tis. ^_^

        • davefragments

I am slowly getting back to writing stories. It’s been a few years since I did that regularly.

          • What are you writing about currently?

          • davefragments

Currently, men turned into machines for exploring Mars.

          • stickfigurefairytales

            Awesome! Go Dave.

    • Hello Wayne!

      • Wayne Lunkwitz

Hi Doki…….hope your doing better this week.

        • Well, cramping time is almost over, so a little bit yeah.

          • stickfigurefairytales

            *hugs* Hi Doki!

          • *hugs* Hey stick!

    • stickfigurefairytales

      Hi Wayne!

  • Wayne Lunkwitz

So…….what are we hoping for this week?

    • davefragments

I wouldn’t mind clothes being thrown to the floor

      • Wayne Lunkwitz

        That would be a plus!

      • fujoshifanatic

And maybe a little second base action? Or is no shirts third base? Was high school that long ago? Do the kids even use bases anymore, since it’s all about blowjobs and hookups nowadays?

        • davefragments

I get this strange feeling that some bizarre demon-thing or eats-threatening crisis is going to interrupt our dynamic duo and prevent the good stuff.

  • stickfigurefairytales

It means so much to me to see them both looking so comfortable and having fun. <3

    • davefragments

but you know the Rule of Superpowers — The use of superpower is inevitable in all situations no matter how mundane or romantic…

      • stickfigurefairytales

I thought the Rule of Superpowers was There is always a downside

        • davefragments

          That’s one, too

      • stickfigurefairytales

To be fair, if I had a super power, I’d probably be using it every opportunity I could, too.

        • davefragments

          Good thought.
I think that silence on my part is the best path here.

  • stickfigurefairytales

I’m pretty excited for tomorrow evening – going to go learn how to throw axes with a friend of mine (she had a Groupon for it). Hopefully it won’t end in serious injury to anyone!

    • I would prefer throwing knives, but axes are cool too. ^_^

      • stickfigurefairytales

Unfortunately they’re not the best weapon for use in a zombie apocalypse (because you have to go retrieve them in order to keep using them), but still, good skill to have.

        • True but I have a thing for knives, daggers, and swords.

          • stickfigurefairytales

Yeah, I agree, but who am I to turn up my nose at the chance to learn how to throw any kind of bladed projectile? ;D

          • davefragments

Did you ever see the old clip from Johnny Carson where Ed Ames showed him how to throw an ax?

          • stickfigurefairytales

            No, but that sounds amazing.

          • davefragments
          • stickfigurefairytales

            That was hilarious!

          • davefragments

            Brings tears to the eyes!

          • Wayne Lunkwitz

If they tried to show anything like that on TV these days…..something would be cut from it ….I’m sure!

          • davefragments

            Different generations of people watching.
Back then, there were three channels. Right now, I have over 200 plus “on demand” on my TV

          • Wayne Lunkwitz

I have 190……but I get what I need from about 10 of them at most……they added a “new” channel recently ……Buzzr….it’s what GSN ( Game Show Network) used to be.

          • davefragments

Let me add, I still watch the “Tea Time Movies” on Youtube just for fun every once in a while.

          • Wayne Lunkwitz

When I’m in the mood , I head to You tube for old video of the original Dark Shadows.

          • That is lovely. 🙂

          • Klaus

So Americans do get the classic “I didn’t know you were Jewish” line.

          • davefragments

            Most certainly.
Ed Ames is embarrassed but Carson goes right for the comedy punchline. Later in the show, Carson has a line “Welcome to the Frontier Bris” when they return from a commercial.

          • True, true.

          • stickfigurefairytales

I actually do have a small set of throwing knives that I got from a flea market! I should learn how to actually use those someday…

          • ah and shuriken, I would love to have some of those

          • stickfigurefairytales

I think there’d be, like, a 98% chance of me cutting myself on those if I had any.

          • only the first few times I am sure…

          • stickfigurefairytales

How do you even hold them safely?

          • Very carefully. ^_^

  • *sets up camping tent*
Not a day early this time. Now I hope for some abs kisses on the coming page, maybe with a bonus of nipple play ;-p

    • Sounds lovely Danish. How are you this morning?

      • Bleh. Doing better but cancelled going to my dad’s b-day today. I feel fine but I still have some coughing and lightly runny nose. Both my mom, sis and niece have just gotten over their colds, and my mom and niece are easy to getting them just like me (+ my niece easily get bronchitis), so won’t risk it.

    • stickfigurefairytales
