The Young Protectors: Engaging The Enemy Truth or Dare—Page 20

168 Comments on The Young Protectors: Engaging The Enemy Truth or Dare—Page 20

Good thinking, Kyle.

So, as you know, Julie Wright is our guest artist for this bonus comic, and she has a Kickstarter for her creator-owned book, Riven Seal. And the Kickstarter is almost over—there are just a few days left! If you’re enjoying her work on this comic, please take a moment to check out her Kickstarter and consider making a pledge. I think you’ll find her other work pretty cool.

Meanwhile, very cool things are going on over at my Patreon Page. $5+ Patrons get access to sneak peeks of work-in-progress art along with downloads of the Kickstarter Digital Rewards. For Sneak Peek Sunday, I showed Adam DeKraker’s latest Romance Card pencils, and it’s for Kyle! Adam drew him pin-up style, looking all sexy in front of a fire truck. Here’s a sneak peek of that sneak peek:

Kyle, shirtless, for Sneak Peek Sunday

The Patreon post shows the full image, firetruck and all and Kyle in just his shorts. Comments to that post have included: “Hubba hubba!! That’s all I can think to say.”, “You know forever I’ve been making clichéd gay comments about how hot firemen were… but it’s so outrageously true of Kyle”, and “Does drooling put the fires out?  Just one more hazard for our Red Hot superhero.  ;)”

This week I posted the Safe for Work version. Next week, the shorts come off!

And for the Wonderful Wednesdays post, I shared the full-color art for Spooky’s Origin Card, which showed the first time Spooky ever used his powers. Here’s a sneak peek of the demon who got the business end of that:

But that wasn’t the only demon in the image — we also get another look at the mysterious boy demon from Spooky’s past! Comments included: “gasp, is this boyfriend/lover demon boy that spooky is being haunted by?”, “Will we ever find out the whole story with the demon boy? I love all this backstory!”, and “Such awesome art!”

And this week I’m going to share something even cooler with my Patrons — another full-color, full-monty painting of another one of The Young Protectors adult characters! Curious to find out who that will be?

There are lots of great benefits to being a Patron, and you’d really be helping me out if you became one too. If you’re enjoying our work here and would like to see it continue (and would like to get access to all kinds of special benefits!),

please take a moment to watch the video on my Patreon page and consider becoming a Patron.

So! No hug for Tsunami. (Julie makes these boys so adorable, how can he refuse?!) But at least Kyle has a solution so Tsunami can get the help he needs. Problem solved?

Tune in this Saturday to find out! Hope to see you there! 😀

  • Sapfo

Tsunamie, I hug you with no pants on also 😉

    • davefragments

      congrats on being the first

      • Sapfo

        Thank you! ^^

  • Keneu

    Hey.

    • DC

      Very close.

      • Keneu

Yeah, it’s the first time I got so close. Sapfo is a pro. 🙂

        • DC

I had a few seconds before I got my first.

  • Nate

As I said in the camp… I’d take what Gordon turned down….

Love Kyle’s expression in the last panel. He’s so eager to help!

    • Nate

Gordon’s attitude still annoys me a bit, tho. Guys can hug without it being pervy, after all (I’m half-Italian. In my family, it’s more common than shaking hands. 🙂 )

      • Keneu

I would feel uncomfortable if the person were half naked. Then again, I’m not very touchy-feely.

        • Nate

As you may have guessed, I am. Immensely so. 😉

        • stickfigurefairytales

I’d have to say the same for me.

      • ChibE

The only half-naked person I want to hug is my husband. Bathing suits would be an exception, but I would probably do more of a shoulder hug than a full body hug.

  • stickfigurefairytales

Let him add it, Gordon! Let him add it!

  • davefragments

This is so nice and sweet and just adorable.
For a bunch of guys? yeah, right, sure,
You know they won’t remember this little bit of camaraderie

  • DC

ok I’ll just send virtual hugs then Tsunami. The big guy just likes his personal space, perfectly normal for some people.

  • wow. never got in this early before.

As always, I am impressed with Kyle, Spooky, and Mitch.

  • Nope, I refuse to cry.

  • Danny

I hope that Gordon is really almost smiling in panel #4 and that it isn’t just my imagination…

    • It’s not your imagination. 🙂

      • Danny

🙂 That makes me very happy. For all that his actions have not always had the best results, he deserves to smile right now and mean it.

        • ChibE

I’m loving his character development. It’s good to see the softer side of Sears, er, Tsunami.

          • Danny

I agree. I was somewhat worried that he wouldn’t be able to share his vulnerabilities with his teammates.

  • Morgan

    Oh… My heart.
I love all of them… I even love Gordon (on this page, at least)

  • jreed3842

Um… okay. Spooky can hug me without pants on any day.

  • Cman65

I’d take a hug from a guy in his undies anytime

  • Danny

Also, pouting-&-puppy-dog-eyed-Spooky alert in panel #3.

  • Morgan

*sigh* Spooks… you cutie. Come hug me.

  • Toli Bera

aww, and here I was hoping it would end in a pillow fight between the two of them.

    • Morgan

      Still not too late…

      • Toli Bera

for a playful one maybe. but not a knock-down-drag-out-negligee-and-panties brawl like i was thinking.

  • Soirbleu

Gordon’s indignant comment made me laugh SO hard. It was so in character, so fitting, such perfect dialogue, and despite being (or seeming) righteously outraged, it was still somehow very tender and almost a little vulnerable. 😀

    • Soirbleu

Okay, that was my comment. Hello friends, and now goodnight!

      • davefragments

Have a good night. Visit again tomorrow.

        • Soirbleu

          Goodnight to you also!

      • stickfigurefairytales

        Yay, and hello!

  • Alt+F7

wow, I did not expect the tension to dissolve so easily. So fitting for a group who’ve lived together and worked together for years.

  • Saxon_Brenton

Aaaand once again I am astonished at the amount of self-awareness that Tsunami shows in panels 1 & 3. Also, his ability to own his fears and flaws and *then* make a joke about his own insecurities is a nice touch. Thinking about it, I would have half-expected him to be a stick-in-the-mud, with no sense of humour, who plays the self-righteous tough guy to cover his insecurities.

Plus, ZOMG Spooky’s pouty face in panel 3. Good thing I’ve had my booster shot to resist weaponised cute.

    • Kiri

That would have made Alex writing a cliche – and Alex is better than that. 🙂 Every single one of them is nicely 3D and complex and not cliched. 🙂

  • Michael

Okay, 1. I’m glad Gordon can laugh at how defensively uncomfortable he is about his sexuality/masculinity.

    2. OH SNAP! Did Kyle just throw Gordon’s threat re. Mitch back in his face, with a smile? YES HE DID! 😀

    3. Pantsless Spooky was nice to look at while sitting down, but… damn!

    • jreed3842

Damn indeed!! I just can’t get enough of pantless Spooky!! Haha!

  • This page.. so much love and huggy feelings all around. Oki, maybe not for Tsunami, because he knows he’ll start crying, and he doesn’t want that. Good
thing they can do the next best thing and get a laugh out of it to clear the tensions.

Spooky’s face in panel 3 when he’s told ‘No huggies’ just about say it all. Makes me want to hug, tears or not.

Adding this to the note, I hope Tsu actually say yes, and that Amanda won’t step in again and say no. Looking at the current story, I’m not sure if anything was written down. Could be either or from how they act around his grumpy moods.

Oh, and Tsu smiled, no LAUGHED, and the world didn’t end. I knew he had it in him.

    • Jeldenil

Danish. I have a question for you. You live in the same timezone as I do (I live in Amsterdam). Yet, you always manage to be (one of) the first to comment on -all- comics I see you at… Do you not sleep??????? Are you a vampire?

      • LOL.. you’re not the first person to ask me that sleep/vampire question xD

No, I do sleep, but I set my alarmclock early to be here for camping when I can. Whether I always manage to get up is not 100% sure though (I think my snooze button hates me).
I’ve never been great with a sleep schedule, and I’m generelly a night owl though I can also go to bed really early if I feel like it. So sometimes I’m up early, other times still up when a page is released on various comics, but just as often it’s because the artist released it within our day/evening time.

        … aaand I may be a bit stalker-ish when I know/feel it’s time for a couple comics to update 😉

  • EyeDontNo

No Kyle, you can’t add that to the note.
For better or worse, the note must remain general, or there would be too many questions about what was or wasn’t said. The various topics covered by the Truth or Dare session must remain completely vague or new strains may develop in the team as they try to discover what they personally revealed and who may remember any of it. Strains lead to fractures lead to discord lead to the team collapsing from the inside out.
Personally I cannot think of a means to let Gordon’s comments leave this night without causing destruction.

    • Connor

I think you’re right that putting that in the note could be destructive. My solution: Write a somewhat detailed note of Gordon’s question, making it clear that they’d like to help him if he’s willing to reveal it to them when they remember it. Then stick the note in an envelope with “For Gordon’s Eyes ONLY” on it to put underneath the note.

Actually, they should probably write secret notes to everyone.

    • Derkins

I know you’re probably right, but it makes me very sad. I definitely get that looming feeling Kyle’s suggestion is going to get shut down, but … *sigh*
      it’s totally not fair. :p

    • And there’s the risk Fluke will hold back, as Amanda mentioned…

  • Connor

Have the pages been posting earlier than usual lately? The past few times I’ve gone to go camping I’ve gotten here after the page is already up.

    • Over all, yes. Many of the later pages have been up early-ish. This one was a little later, but still not late-late in the day 🙂

  • This is such an awesome page, and a lovely one to get him to. Not up to, home to, despite of the time bing 7.30am here. I’m now home after spending a couple hours keeping a friend company at something akin to the ER to find out she has pneumonia. She’ll be fine now that she got her penicilin from the night pharmacy.

I saw it first on her iPad, now at home and made my shorter comment. Now I’m about to drop and go to bed. I’ve barely slept and I need to get up again in 3 hours for an apointment around noon. What a day this has already turned out to be.
This cutie of a page came with great timing 🙂

    • I’m glad you liked it, Danish! I glad you’re friend is going to be fine. Get some good sleep. 🙂

  • Derkins

ADD IT TO THE NOTE!! ADD IT TO THE NOTE!!!

uhhh sorry bout that outburst, guys.

  • Jeldenil

I was rudely woken up from a hot lesbian sauna dream… but then I saw this and now I’m not mad anymore. Go Gordon, dear.

  • Aw! Spooky’s pouty lips.

    • Sapfo

Don’t you bit that lip little bunny 😉

  • Mary Klemzak

Someone go to the bathroom or something, and write a note somewhere. This guy needs help in the form of hugs or to talk about his past. Something tells me though that he’s not a huggy guy tho.

  • bronakopdin

    awwwwww
but then I totally laughed aloud here when he rejected Spooky in that manner even though I’d love to hug Spooky myself seeing his face in panel 2 >////<

I doubt that Gordon will allow Kyle to write it down though… or maybe Spooky's little speech will make him agree? Nah I think he wouldn't want it, it's not his big bro style!

  • Tyler Griffin

I have hot water again! I swear I’m gonna take 5 showers a day just for the shear pleasure of scalding hot steamy water!

    • Yes, there is nothing like a nice hot steamy shower. ^_^

  • Jason Wexler

Quick post and run, and I am sure someone else has already asked this, but why is it appropriate to write down Gordon’s thing but not Mitch’s? No I think the rules have to be consistent, don’t write down Gordon’s problem.

    • Morgan

I think because Mitch’s would be used to get him in trouble. Gordon’s is because they’re trying to get him help. And Kyle is only suggesting they write it down, where as Gordon was like “I’M MAKING A NOTE! YER IN TROUBLE LITTLE BOY!” …or something similar to that.

    • Marz

I personally don’t think it should be written down, but I think it has to do with the way it happened. Gordon demanded that they write down Mitch’s thing clearly against Mitch’s wishes. Now we have Gordon confessing his fears and his friends all being supportive and Gordon seems happier to have it off his chest, so Kyle is asking Gordon if he wants them to write it down so he can get the support he needs later. Basically, Kyle is asking Gordon what he thinks whereas Gordon just decided they should go against Mitch’s wishes.

      • Christian Bernard

I don’t under. Everything you said leads me to think that they SHOULD write it down. Because he is asking rather than demanding that makes me think it is appropriate to write it down. Or do you mean in a spiteful kind of way that because Gordon demanded they write down Mitch’s problem he shouldn’t get any support?

        • Marz

Not at all. I don’t think they should write it down because there is still Fluke to go, and even though they did ask Gordon’s permission, Fluke might hold stuff back knowing writing it down is a possibility. Personally, in a situation like this surrounded by a group of people I would feel pressured to let them write stuff down even if I wasn’t really comfortable with it, especially if someone else already agreed to write something down. Maybe that’s just me though.

    • Marie

I kind of assumed that they wouldn’t write down what happened or what was said, just a note to Gordon saying that Spooky and the others would be open to helping him and cared about him. Preferably, this would be on a separate note so that only Gordon would be able to guess what he might have said.

    • Klaus

Mitch does not want it written down. If Gordon permits it, I don’t see why it should not be. If he refuses (as he will), it will of course not be written down.

  • Pikinanou

No Spook-hugs for Tsu Tsu 😀 (I personnally would have gladly accepted it ;P )

  • Justin

It’d be kind of cool if they can all write a private letter to themselves (although, have everyone read it before the curse is finished to make sure no one tries to sneak out information)

    • Christian Bernard

What’s the point of writing a “private” letter if everyone is going to read it anyway. That by its definition makes it public not private.

      • EyeDontNo

Let everyone read the letter before the end of the curse so they forget that they ever saw it. (The same way they’ll forget the rest of the evening.) Then they read their own letter the next day, after the amnesia takes place, and then decide if they want to share it with anybody else.

The amnesia is what makes the paradox work.

        • Michael

I actually like that idea, it gives them a little more power than “something was said, but we don’t know what”. And a description of everyone’s reactions might help them decide whether or not to reveal their secret, like Mitch might decide not to tell Gordon, but to confess to Amanda knowing that she has previously had a mostly positive (being the absence of explosive temper and threats, etc.) reaction to it.

        • Christian Bernard

          That makes sense.

  • WarGoddess

Buh buh-someone actually REFUSING a hug from Spooky? Is he for realz, dawg? Lol I don’t think I should utter that last part ever again (My inner nineties coming out *le gasp*). Anywho, don’t be afraid to indulge in some bro-handling Tsunami. Just don’t. It’s good for you.

  • davefragments

I very much like that pencil drawing of Kyle the Fireman.
    It’s very good.

    • Very glad to hear it, Dave! It’s fun to get the main artist working on these special pin-ups. 🙂

      • davefragments

I’m looking forward to see the color version.

  • Michael

    Hi everyone!

I know this is considerably earlier than the usual camping time, but I just wanted to let you know I can’t camp tomorrow due to the kids grading day at kung fu. See you all next week!

    • See you then!

    • Klaus

      Congratulations.

      • Michael

… I really need to work on my use of ambiguous sentences. To clarify, I don’t have kids of my own (although if I did they would totally be doing kung fu), but I am a senior student mand therefore am going to help Sifu (teacher) with the running of the day and also to watch the child students who are grading.

Thanks for the thought, though, if I had kids who were grading I would be very grateful.

  • Adam Irving

I am really enjoying this side story. Just like the last one with the flashback with Spooky and Amanda, it adds a richness to the main plot that we don’t have time or space to cover in medias res. These would be *great* as an anythology to The Young Protectors when it’s published. Another great page!

    • Thank you, Adam! I’m so glad to hear you’re enjoying this!

      • Adam Irving

Absolutely, more than ever. Some good news – I start a new job on Monday, and with the bump in pay, I’ll finally have a little extra to apply to things that are not essential. So guess who’ll finally become a patron Monday night? 😀

  • Kate G

Awwwwwww, Tsu-tsu, we all love ya, but did you just actually REFUSE A HUG FROM THE SPOOKS?! If you don’t want it, I’ll take it instead. I NEED the hug.

Why? I got a bruised tailbone and I have a horse show today. My pony took a face plant while riding bareback and my tailbone took the hit. My poor pony, I really did feel bad when he tripped over his legs. I wanted to get off and console him but Nick assured me little Red Rover was okay.

Does Spooky have anything for bruised bums? Seriously!

    • Michael

I can relate to that! I went on a 3-day horse ride/trail thing when I was a teenager (you know the type, trained docile horses, walking in a single line along a predetermined trail, riders don’t actually have to know how to ride beyond sitting safely), and on the second morning I didn’t warm my guy up quite enough for his tastes, so when I tried to climb onto the saddle he decided to sit instead, and threw me off.

Despite that, by the end of the second day we were quite close, and he was even accepting directions from me to a limited extent. He was a bit of a wild fellow, anyway, lots of spirit. Jumped (bunny hopped?) over logs on the path instead of stepping over, and broke into a full sprint/gallop when we got to a flat open field. Had a fondness for carrots and fingers.

      Horses are fun sometimes.

      • Kate G

Yea, the horses and ponies I ride all have ranging personalities, but they all are used for hippotherapy and equine therapy so they are very docile for the most part; there are some stubborn personalities (ahem, Scooby), but they all love doing what they do.

That’s kind of cute. I can imagine you weren’t thrilled whenever he jumped! HA HA HA HA HA. That horse sounds like Scooby. Stubborn to boot and lots of jaunty spirit, except Scooby has a full on addiction to candy canes. He smells peppermint and he gets excited.

I will fully accept Michael-hugs. *hugs back*

        • Michael

I actually enjoyed the jumping, it was bumpy, but we were well suited, personality wise… He seemed like the youngster of the group, all the other horses were docile to the point of seeming sombre. And then here’s this guy (it was years ago, so I’ve forgotten his name) who’s all excited and jumping and prancing and playing around. Once we de-saddled (?) at the end of the day, he was rolling around in the grass like a puppy.

          • Kate G

Ha ha. The horses and ponies are all around 12-17 where I go. So they are pretty young. They are retired from their first jobs and now live lives as spoiled therapy horses. Some horses never lose their pep I’ve learned and some just lose their steam. Apollo is about 17 and he is stubborn…and slow. He just HATES doing anything above a walk. He likes to say, “I did my years as a police horse; now, if you don’t mind, I’d like to walk now.” LOL. He’s a silly ol’ horse.

          • Michael

Police horses deserve to take it easy, though. I hope the others aren’t too hard on him, making him trot when he wants to amble.

          • Kate G

Ha ha, Apollo wishes. He does very well no matter what he’s doing. Yea, you have to kick him or use the crop (aka the stick) a few times, but he’ll get going! Scoobs is a bit of the same. Loves to amble around some days. Making him trot is an exercise in patience and determination. I very rarely ask for a stick, but on Scooby’s “I just want to walk” days, I’ve just had to ask because my legs didn’t have enough umph!

    THEY DID IT!
GAY MARRIAGE IS NOW LEGAL THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES!

I came here to post the good news as well!! But you beat me to it! *throws confetti*

      • Chris Dangerfield

I think it’s the kind of news that everyone can post as often as they wish… it’s just too happy making. Honestly, I think the court just wanted to coordinate with Alex regarding page day. HA!

I mean, honestly, what could be better than a two-fer like this. 😀

    • I’m so happy to see this. Sadly it hasn’t gotten a lot of attention in the Danish (and possibly any countries in EU) today because of so many bad things going on over here with terror attacks and immigrant debates – and for Denmark alone, all the political rumble.

Yes, I’m so happy on you, Americans, behalf and it’s great to get something possitive today, in the midst of everything else 😀

      • stickfigurefairytales

That’s right – I am so terribly sorry about the terrorist attacks that also took place today. I will be keeping the victims and their families in my prayers.

    • Woot! 🙂

    • Woohoo!! *celebrates*

    • Sapfo

      Finally!
May many who are in love get married without anyone telling them they can not ❤️

      • Chris Dangerfield

That closing paragraph is absolutely a stunning piece of writing.

      • Thank you for sharing this. Wonderful.

    • Keneu
    • Saxon_Brenton

I’m sure my fellow Australians will join with me in giving our congratulations and assuring you that, yes, we are envious. But in a good way.

    • stickfigurefairytales

      I’M SO HAPPY!!!!!

  • Chris Dangerfield

The Supreme Court decision is such wonderful news that I think everyone should take the day off from worry and concern and just kick their heels up a bit and (WHAT? No not kick your heels up like that… honestly you people. Gutter City).

No, my point is that there is no doubt that we ALL have so many challenges. A step like this one makes everyone think of how much else there is to work on… Charleston and people of color being able to trust law enforcement ANYWHERE. Women being targeted online and in ordinary life by purely out of control men. The crazy fact that Texas is trying to choke off the pure existence of abortion access by removing all but 6 or 7 planned parenthood clinics from the entire state. States are still trying to push through legislation to allow businesses NOT to be required to serve LGBTQ clientele just as they would any other customer.

There is no doubt that this “to-do” list is huge, varied and daunting.

Finally, all the ongoing challenges of the LGBTQ community running the gamut from couples still being unable to safely hold hands in public to having real access to jobs around kids or even getting unbiased access to appropriate adoption (because we all know of the right-wing’s ongoing effort to continually associate all non-heterosexual roles as natural pederasts. Or, just as outrageous, the continuing debate on how to manage access to public restrooms for trans people — because the debate has been cast as a plot for people to attempt to catch an unclothed glimpse of the opposite (?) sex. Honestly in 2015? We are still doing this. It’s honestly insane.

So, ABSOLUTELY let’s celebrate the very real achievement of gay marriage there are still so many minorities, and all of us feeling how much work needs to be done everywhere. Let’s savor this moment and let it fuel us to attack the next. Follow the wise lead of Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi… here. And be happy!

    https://vine.co/v/eJuAqVHgXKd

I’m hoping it just reminds us all that (and this forum has said this before) misogyny, homophobia, racism and all the other problems that plague minorities MUST continue to bring us TOGETHER. Because only together can we minorities all help, support and protect each other.

I’m thinking of rebranding “MINORITIES” as the new “PREMIUM COMMUNITIES”. Only the best people allowed in… Boorish smug entitled dude-bro type people… NEED NOT APPLY.

Let me know what you think. 🙂

    • Michael

…on top of all that, the concept of net neutrality is constantly under threat by cable lobbyists, every victory is countered with a new bill or suit designed to throttle the previous decisions in favour of it. And the TTP still is not being released for public scrutiny, despite the fact that it will affect everything from the price of cosmetics to access to information and the internet.

Still, congrats on getting one thing right. I only hope Australia can follow soon. :/ Doubtful, as the current PM is a psychopath and his government is essentially fascist.

      • Keneu

The decision for gay marriage was a very close call, 5 against 4. I remember there was a loud opposition to gay marriage in Spain from the most conservative positions, and from other gay people that considered marriage as a way to make same-sex relationships more acceptable in society’s eyes. However, once the law was approved, that opposition quieted down and there hasn’t been talk of revoking it ever since – something that didn’t happen to the abortion law approved around the same time.
I hope it’ll be the same in the US, and those states that drag their heels as much as they can will receive sanctions from the judicial system.

      • Chris Dangerfield

America should do nothing better than give you hope… this is all happening post several Bush Presidents and some of the worst congresses that have ever been assembled. This didn’t happen in any sort of ideal way, with smart law-makers working to do the right thing. This was a — by the seat of our pants thing — still it’s a great step we will gratefully accept.

So lets hope that fate and some pressure from your electorate will eventually bring you guys to the same place. As the old guard dies off a new generation definitely has a different point of view. Not perfect, but much more worldly and progressive in a lot of ways.

I have a number of Australian friends and my fingers are definitely crossed for you all!

  • davefragments

I made it to camping earlier than I expected.
How was your day? Mine was filled with goodness.

    • Today was an EXCELLENT day!! My whole internet was rainbows. 🙂

      • davefragments

It is a good day to remember this June 26th. . . Two years ago DOMA was declared unconstitutional.

        • It’s an easy day to remember too!

          • davefragments

I knew to have the news on before 10am and when I saw the scene developing at the Supreme Court the decision was obvious.
To make it all the better, yesterday the Supreme Court up held the ACA (Obamacare) and that was almost as good.

          • It was a nice thing to wake up to. Both things.

          • stickfigurefairytales

            Agreed!

          • stickfigurefairytales

Plus it’s Stitch Day! (from Disney’s Lilo & Stitch) Since he was experiment #626, June 26th is Stitch Day (not sure if it’s official or not, but I like it). And check out this: http://stickfigurefairytales.tumblr.com/post/122553053095/hecallsmepineappleprincess-storytellers-cafe

          • Cool!

    • stickfigurefairytales

I’m doing well myself. It has been a day of extremes in the news – elation at the Supreme Court’s decision in favor of same-sex marriage, horror at the terror attacks in France, Tunisia, and Kuwait, and grief mixed with pride and resolve at President Obama’s eulogy for Rev. Pinckney.

      • davefragments

The President’s Eulogy was beautiful and faith affirming.

  • stickfigurefairytales

    Who’s up for some camping?

    • It is storming here. ^_^ Though, I might have to leave if it gets bad.

      • stickfigurefairytales

Hi Doki! *hugs* I’m glad you’re here now, and I totally understand if you need to leave because of severe storm stuff.

      • It would be nice if it stormed here, anything to break the heat and help the firefighters.

        • davefragments

I have too much rain – you can have some of it.

        • I love storms.

          • davefragments

Yesterday I had to drive 20 miles on highway in very heavy rain. Once my tires slipped. That highway usually has traffic at 70-75 mph and yesterday it was all 45mph, all the way. terrible amount of water on the road.

          • stickfigurefairytales

Oh my! I’m glad you’re okay.

          • davefragments

But the stage play I saw was BUYERS AND CELLARS which I recommend. It is laugh out loud funny and is one gay mans adventure in Barbra Steisand’s mall in the basement of her Malibu home.

      • stickfigurefairytales

Would you care for a chocolate chip cookie? I just baked them this afternoon.

        • Thanks! Though I am going to have to head out. The storm seems to actually be close enough now for me to turn off the computer.

          • stickfigurefairytales

Here you go! *gives cookie* Aw, too bad, but probably a smart move. See you later!

          • Heh. Hours after the storm passed, the power went out for half an hour. -_-

Tonight is the night for music.
And waiting, waiting, waiting for the new page.
Added: Of course there’s probably a big celebration in San Fran tonight.

  • stickfigurefairytales

Very quiet camp so far tonight.

    • davefragments

      Very quiet.

      • stickfigurefairytales

        A little…too quiet.

        • davefragments

I think this page transitions to Fluke and begins to reveal something about him.

          • stickfigurefairytales

Hmm, could be. I was expecting it to be Amanda or Gordon or Spooky weighing in about whether to put his stuff in the note, but they might also be able to squeeze in the question for Paul.

          • davefragments

I think Kyle’s joking and they took it that way.

    • Seems to be.

      • stickfigurefairytales

Hey, how are you doing tonight, AJ?

        • A little tired. Watching Cap. America the first

          • stickfigurefairytales

Nice. I need to pack after this – I’m going to a friend’s wedding tomorrow.

          • davefragments

            That sounds really nice.

          • stickfigurefairytales

Yeah, I’m happy to be going.

          • Fun stuff! Well not the packing part.

          • stickfigurefairytales

Yup! She isn’t having a formal wedding ceremony, just a small party at her house and them signing the marriage certificate, but it should be fun.

          • Sounds like it!

          • davefragments

            More of the Marvel Universe.

          • Yep. I like it better than the second one. Of course, the first watch was difficult, but after several views it gets so much better.

          • davefragments

I have yet to figure out what they have revealed in THE WINTER SOLDIER that pertains to the Marvel Universe unless it will be the return of the Winter Soldier (with that metal arm) in THE INFINITY WARS.

          • I have no idea. I’m just sorta free floating and scratching my head about most of their decisions.

          • davefragments

            So Am I.

  • davefragments

page sign creeping up from the depths

  • Demie Duken

I swear, Gordon in that third panel is really me, finger and all. I’m not one to go against hugs, but at least have a decent amount of clothing on.

  • Ninhursag

“I’m gonna have to punch you and you’re gonna make me cry” oh Tsunami, you sensitive soul in a hard shell, you.
