The Young Protectors: Engaging The Enemy Chapter 4—Page 60

241 Comments on The Young Protectors: Engaging The Enemy Chapter 4—Page 60

Interesting…

So! The Annihilator has now revealed the secret of how to defeat Kyle’s Dad, so it seems like the Magic Hip Straddle did its job. But is Duncan actually telling the truth? And is pushing a Demon King around something the team could even do?

Tune in this Saturday to find out! Hope to see you there! 😀

  • Laampyyyy!

    • stickfigurefairytales

      Nice going, Danish!

      • Thank you.
Showed up when page was due (thumbnails had been posted on Patreon when I opened that tab), so went straight to hunting 😉

        • stickfigurefairytales

          *thumbs up*

  • O.O

  • davefragments

Nice placement that word cloud over Laampros there…

    So, It’s a one-trip key… how sneaky

  • Look at the sneak peak of Laampros……doesn’t he look all lovely!

    • stickfigurefairytales

      *hugs* Hi Doki!!

      • *hugs* Stick!

        • stickfigurefairytales

          How’s it going, love?

          • It’s going. Grandmother is being a pain about taking her pills. -_-

          • stickfigurefairytales

            Aw, poor Doki. Good luck.

  • stickfigurefairytales

I think our friend the Magic Beanstalk could be helpful in knocking Laampros back through that gate.

    • He needs his viney arms to grow back. But I suppose he could have extras

      • stickfigurefairytales

He’s a vine, so I feel like he should be able to.

        • stickfigurefairytales

Although grass types are weak against fire types…

          • This is true. Hmmm

          • stickfigurefairytales

            Tsunami, maybe?

          • stickfigurefairytales

Tsunami used Hydro Pump! It’s super effective!

          • That could help. He and Woody teaming up.

          • bronakopdin

but IF Woody is actually a secret stone type (see comment above to stick x’D) that could mean trouble for Woody >/////<

          • Well if he’s a stone type he doesn’t need Tsu’s help. 🙂

          • bronakopdin

well it should be fine as long as Tsunami won’t use Surfer, that one hit everyone, also the partner x’D

          • bronakopdin

you never know whether it has a secondary type 😀 or whether it even is a grass type, always remember this one
            http://pokewiki.de/images/thumb/7/75/Sugimori_185.png/216px-Sugimori_185.png
it was in fact a stone type >:D

        • Fingers crossed. 🙂

    • Nate

      What about Not-A-Bear?

      • stickfigurefairytales

I think it got sent off along with PP, but I could be misremembering.

        • Nate

Not sure if it was the same portal.

I just want to see Spooky pulling a Harry Dresden and riding it into battle. 😀

          • stickfigurefairytales

Hee hee! That would be great.

  • First view of the big bad in a long time, and the great use of a speech bubble 😉

All the way through the comic I have loved the use of angles and/or speech bubbles, and how it’s used to never make anything explicit.

    • stickfigurefairytales

      Yes, I love that. 😀

      • SchalaRenee

I DONT! I want to see ALL of Laampros. >.>

        • stickfigurefairytales

Haha, maybe Alex will add that as a Patreon bonus sometime.

        • bronakopdin

if you’re a patron you can do what I told Danish above ^^

    • bronakopdin

have a look at the pencils on Patreon, it’s without speech bubbles >:D

      • Still, great use of shadows xD

        • bronakopdin

          true sadly x’D

  • davefragments

It’s another gold in the men’s 4×200 freestyle

    • stickfigurefairytales

That makes 21 for Michael Phelps

  • Nate

Am I the only one who, when looking at that panel, wondered how Laampros keeps that beard so shiny and flowing? That must be one hell of a conditioner. 😉

    • davefragments

I’m having bad thoughts about that but I concede it must be one helluva wax

    • stickfigurefairytales

Being King of Hell means that you get the best hair care products.

      • Nate

But Heaven has the best beauticians. 🙂

        • stickfigurefairytales

          And the best choreographers.

          • Nate

+1,000,000 points for catching the obscure GOOD OMENS reference. 🙂

          • stickfigurefairytales

            Good Omens FTW!!!

        • Klaus

On the other hand, the devil has the best songs.

    • davefragments

      Dippity Do?

BTW – Did you know that the very first men’s hair spray was supposed to be called “Balls” for Butch assurance…

      • Stephen Hutchison

Yeah, but then they thought, “will the typical male attempt to apply it to what it’s named for” and then they decided to stop.

        • davefragments

No one ever said that men were exceedingly bright about those things

          (wink, wink)

  • Fabulous Alien

Great positioning of that text bubble!

  • davefragments

No offense to Alex and the Gang but NBC is now showing the USA women’s Gymnastics team’s on balance beam and they are hitting the routines.

    • stickfigurefairytales

      Hell yeah!

  • SchalaRenee

EEEEEEE! Laampros is comin! Also, DAMN TEXT BOX! You covered the best part! Gimme a picture without that text box. I wanna see the king of hell in all his glory.

    • That’s would/could be a possible Patreon or KS goal.

Hmm, maybe there isn’t that much of a ‘glory’ there at all 😉

    • Klaus

In Christian mythology devils are fallen angles, and angles are sexless.

      • bronakopdin

true but if he is I wonder how he got Kyle’s mother pregnant…
Magic is too boring a way, no?

        • Klaus

          An exelent point.

          • bronakopdin

            🙂

  • Gregory In Seattle

As noted before, everything he knows he got from Sircea. Was she telling him the truth?

    • Except for the walls actually being weak, who knows.

  • “…always part of our plan”.
Part of *their* original plan, eh? Is he sure of that? Given recent revelation.
Was that why Team Silver had some of the equipment they had hidden at sight? A power dampener coylkd maybe be explained, but what about things like the pods? Just improvised or for other use?
Big D is probably right about both wanting to get rid of Laamporos fast, because PP wouldn’t like someone else that strong around, but something is off.

Wasn’t there something about how it could take years to get Laampros back? And Laampy would have needed to be on earth long enough, to give them their youth back before deal could be sealed, and sending him back, right? Still not sure why PP couldn’t… or rather didn’t want to send the team (maybe mostly Kyle, or possibly Spooky too) away to the dungeons.

Something seems not entirely right here, but I need to re-read part of comic to try and sort out what. Now said vs. earlier said. What Duncan may believe vs. the possible truth.

    • alcar

At a guess, Duncan’s immortality won’t kick in UNLESS Laampros comes through entirely. So he’s insisting that happens.

      • timemonkey

He’s not immortal, he’s gets eternal youth. And without his powers he likely won’t get to enjoy it.

        • Klaus

“Youth and perfect health unending” is not possible without immortality.

          • bronakopdin

well his health is not absolute though, Kyle was surely able to hurt him, so it’s possible to hurt him, hence he can die, even if he’d be young when it happens

          • timemonkey

Immortality means you can’t die. In his current state he can die a lot of ways. Aging used to be his primary concern because he was invulnerable. Now that’s gone and youth won’t do him much good.

    • Klaus

The plan is that the PP will use the increased power level caused by the presence of so many demons on Earth to repair the walls. This will take years. It would seem that the demons would need to stay for all those years. Then she will banish them.

  • camelotcrusade

So uh, where’s that backup army? Any day now, guys.

Also we’re gonna need helicopters, and maybe some priests, and a giant fan for blowing things back, and fire extinguishers, and… actually just bring everything you can carry.

    • They couldn’t get there in time, before the clock reached zero, but they should be there after the gate to hell opens.

  • Jeldenil

Would reversing the spell also mean reversing the sacrifice?

    • stickfigurefairytales

Hmm, it’s pretty hard to reverse death, though.

      • It might work if they are only mostly dead.

        • stickfigurefairytales

Because with mostly dead, is slightly alive!

          • And with all dead, there’s only one thing you could do. Go through their pockets and look for loose change.
Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.

      • Jeldenil

The way Duncan said it suggested (to me) that he meant to give them hope for those people…

        • Marie

I read it more as ‘you can’t save them, but you can save humanity’

      • Pietro7

I wonder if the spell actually kills them, or simply binds their souls into support of the gate-spell? They might go into a form of suspended animation during that time – bodies seeming hard as diamond, no breath or warmth, but undamaged and undamageable. But I don’t imagine having your soul enslaved to a giant circle of bone is pleasant.

        • Klaus

The spell does not kill them. Killing them activates the spell.

  • davefragments

Letting the box of hostages die is not going to go over too well with the Young Protectors.

I don’t think that they ever had a situation of “hey you guys, we need you to take one for the world” … That’s not going to be easy.

    • timemonkey

Not much they can do, they can’t get in the box to stop the spell so reversing it after is all they’ve got.

      • davefragments

These will be deaths that not only can’t they stop but they must watch. That’s not going to be easy for a bunch of super-powered boys who haven’t seen death before. At least, I think that is true for Kyle, Fluke, Mitch, and possibly Tsunami. I think Amanda and Spooky understand, maybe Tsunami.

        • timemonkey

Well, they are an emergency rescue team so unless they have 100% success rate someone’s probably died on their watch.

  • Sapfo

But what if daddy only wants to stay for a cup of coffee, should you not ask him that?
“Daddy, are you going to invade, or are you here just for a cup of coffee?”

    • Maybe he just wants to borrow a cup of sugar?

      • davefragments

a little gossip, a little chat, some idle talk, and a good nosh

        • Klaus

          In the British sense?

          • davefragments

It’s a bit of a lyric from “Man of La Mancha.”
It ends with “Why, when I’m asleep a dragon with his fiery tongue a-waggin’
Whispers, “Sancho, won’t you please come out and play?”

      • Sapfo

We should really ask him. This could just be a major missunderstanding. Maybe he is not coming to conquer the world?

        • Right! He just may want to trade recipes or maybe he just wants to get to know his son! We need to use our words. 🙂

  • Jeff Baker

“Okaaaay. Can’t we just, you know, unplug the thing?”

  • davefragments

Sorry to insert an Olympics comment but: The Olympic themed Google Doodles keeps twitching on my computer and that makes my eyes hurt. Tonight, it is water polo. Water polo bores me.
    Sorry, I’m venting.
However, even the jiggling doodle is better than tonight’s politics.

    • Kate G

Water polo is very boring. It’s about as fun to watch as basketball or golf. *snooze* Give me equestrian eventing or gymnastics or…SWIMMING. Diving is even better. Water polo is so boring!

      • davefragments

Thankfully, there lots of swimming and now men’s gymnastics.
I caught the Equestrian cross-country and the jumping competitions. Those are interesting to watch. There was a sequence in STARZ’s Spartacus series with a horse jumping over a hilltop with Liam McIntyre as Spartacus that was one of the memorable scenes of the war.
        http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/spartacus-final-season-premiere-date-386980
I always wanted a sailboat for impractical reasons. SO I like the sailing but for some strange reasons not the fake whitewater.
Archery turned into a bore. I can’t say why.
Tonight is more swimming and men’s gymnastics.

  • Kit the Coyote

Are we sure the sacrifice is death? Maybe the box is rigged with laughing gas to give a magical surge of happy energy?

    • I almost asked that same question earlier, because I got unsure of it’s said they’re actually going to be electrocuted to death, or if it’s something that was concluded by readers.
If not directly said, mit could be somthing about taking energy (and pain) from then rather than true death.

  • That Guy

I don’t suppose asking him nicely to leave would work? No?

    • Klaus

      I wouldn’t count on it.

  • karmakat

i have to admit something…it took me a LOT of concentration to not just focus on the “double situation possible” on the very first panel i admit it fully.

  • Kate G

Okay, now that we know how to get Big Daddy out, can someone please take a look at Duncan? He doesn’t look so hot.

Did anyone watch Eventing? I cried over all of the pretty horses on Sunday wiping out on the cross country course. And then today, on the jumping course, I laughed my ass off as a Brazilian’s horse said “oh hell no” to his rider, stopped in front of the jump, causing his rider to fly over the jump and land on his shoulder then his butt. I was crying from laughing so hard. I know that had to hurt for the rider, but it was so funny. This horse just hit the brakes.

Plus, YES! We won a bronze in eventing individuals! WOOOOO! I’ll have to watch that. (Booo, we disqualified for teams.)

  • Nirgal

Hum… I’m not sure about it. In a conversation like a hundred years ago, I remember Platinum Priestess saying that the plan was to destroy Daddy, not to simply push him back to Hell. Also, it was supposed to take several years.

  • Shiny Gwilly

hmmm, if Anni is suggesting a “you can’t save those few people, but it’s possible to save the world” thing, the team won’t take this well
hopefully Commander and one or two others will agree to go with a plan to push demon daddy back into hell, but i doubt everyone will be happy with it

  • Hours Left

The tumblr preview pic made my heart skip a beat. And now my heart is still skipping thinking about (what’s behind) that meticulously placed text bubble.

    • bronakopdin

you should totally change your username to “seconds left” just for the next page or sth x’D

  • Klaus

These demons are all teeth and claws. Not what I expected from PP’s characterization of them.

    • bronakopdin

well this is just Lampy plus low henchmen, there will surely be others 😀

  • bronakopdin

I also really like the first panel ^^
Even though it might be an option to get rid of the consequences this is no way to stop the spell and save the sacrifices sadly D:
and I doubt Lampy will be pushed back through that gate easily >/////<

  • TwilightDreamer

well….these odds stink…..I hope Duncans suggestion will work, but I imagine things will go similar to the last plan… i.e. not smoothly!
Ack! Darn imagination just had a scary thought, and I really hope it doesn’t happen XP

  • D. G.

I don’t like the way this is going. But at least anni is trying to help now.

    • Klaus

I think you are right, but can we be sure? It will have very serious consequenses for Duncan of Laampros does not come entirely into the Earth dimension.

  • Minyassa

This is not getting those people out of that cage. Focus, lady. It only takes ONE person to listen to the prisoner.

  • Zeruk

Before I talk about how much a love honest Duncan, it seems to be a problem with page 59 for me, the next button is grey and you have to click last to get the new page. Well that is all!

I love how honest Duncan is right now, I feel bad he couldn’t have made things different in his past. Maybe in the YP future you could make a spinoff comic where Duncan’s past get’s changed and he’s a hero, but Platinum Priest is trying to sway him to evil. ;P I’d love that!

    • Klaus

It might be a caching problem. Either your computer, or some proxy between you and the site, keeps an outdated copy of the page. If so, the cache will mosty likely expire in a few days.

    • Cortez Johnson

I just can’t with with Duncan!

  • Mir

Mann, Duncan is so dead lol. Just look at him, nothing but a pathetic beaten old man who made a deal with the devil.

I don’t think YP has the heart to let the sacrifices die, so we’ll see how this goes.

Also, since Laampros is Kyle’s big ol’ daddy, who’s his mom? Or does he even have one?

    • azoreseuropa

Don’t call him “old man”. 🙂

  • PreludeToA

    I still don’t him.

  • Jason Moon

“HI dad! F&^KING DIE!!!” Yeah, THERE’S something that’ll make the reunion less awkward. 🙂

  • AseretZone

Okay, yikes. Those people are super-dead, and Kyle’s gonna have to try to keep his DAD out of the human world. That’s gonna be F U N.

Also, convenient censoring word bubble. Thanks, Duncan.

  • Magic Hip Straddle for the win. Now, can it send the demons back whence they came…once they’ve arrived thence. 😛

  • Niggle

Wow, I’ve finally caught up after maybe three months of not reading. o.o But seems to be my new normal now. Suddenly remember I haven’t been reading, catch up on pages, leave a comment, feel hopeful about reading consistently again and then…not. As I’ve said before as well.

2016 isn’t as bad as 2015, but my new normal is to keep moving on from one thing to another and forgot about things I used to do or read consistently. Anyway, the past few months of pages have been really exciting and I look forward to the next, this next bit should be very O_O!!!, but today would have been my father’s 91st birthday, so…gonna go cry now. Bye!

  • Saxon_Brenton

Thinks thinky type thoughts: Annihilator has a strong repentant villain vibe (something that’s especially emphasised in the page scripts). Red Hot has already pointed out that his understanding of the situation is based solely on what the priestess has told him.

So try this hypothetical on for size: If Spooky were to wander back and say that in his professional opinion they could save the hostages with a substitute, would Annihilator be willing to sacrifice himself? Could be sacrifice his life, or could be just “cut off the arm with the runes that Laampros carved on it and use it as a mystic link”, or even just a “here’s a risky tactic that you might not survive” type shenanigan. Would Annihilator agree to participate? How repentant do you think Annihilator actually is?

  • Cortez Johnson

I just read this WHOLE THING! Omg 4 years in one day! Literally this everything! I want more after this arc. Not a Duncan fan though. I want Kyle to find someone more appropriate! Duncan is wayyy to old tbh maybe he will turn young though.

    • Omg! It’s already been 4 years (o.o) Time flies. And welcome to the comic and comments section, Cortez.

The info say it updates wednesday and saturday, but the more specific time is tues/friday evening in US timezone. We ‘camp’ here in the comments before every update, besides commenting at all times, if you want to join 🙂

    • azoreseuropa

Nothing is wrong with Duncan. Come on. 🙂

    • Welcome Cortez! There should be another page tonight or tomorrow, depending where you are in the world. ^_^

    • Marie

Turning young wouldn’t really fix the real problem though, which is the maturity gap/authority issues- and I’m saying this as a Duncan fan.

    • Adam Black

No go back and read the author intros to each one and the comments.

  • Malusz

That’s a very delicious conundrum. Now, that’s what Duncan believes, and chances are it’s how Sircea presented things to him. A number of things are possible, such as herself being fooled by Laampros or purposely deceiving the Annihilator. For her own gain of course.
Very lovely scenario, on top of the always fantastic art and colors.

  • fujoshifanatic

Is it wrong for me to be liking the view of Anni’s chest while he is lying there beat to hell and back (ha!) in the first panel, and wishing that Kyle had a little more “wardrobe damage” in that position? I don’t feel bad if it is. It kind of sucks that Kyle’s dad has to step through the portal in order to be pushed back, but that will make for some interesting action during that family reunion!

  • Monika

Wait are you actually letting all these people in the glass box die? Okay, you have killed 400 civilians on a star base before and showed us their bloody corpses, but we didn’t see them weep before!

    • Saxon_Brenton

Oooh. Monika, you’ve given me a New Crack Theory.

Proposition: This was planned. The Platinum Priestess and Annihilator want to corrupt the Young Protectors, and so they staged a fight, allowed the Priestess to get teleported away, and the Annihilator get badly hurt in order for him to look helpless when he gives them the spiel.

All the Young Protectors have to do to save the world is make the moral compromise of letting the hostages in the box die, so that the summoning spell can be activated and immediately disrupted when the YP ambush Laampros and push him back through the gate. That’s it. Just one little moral compromise.

[Looks at preceding crack] Not that I buy the idea for a second, but it’s shiny and has a certain insanely paranoid appeal.

      • Adam Black

        Put down the crack Mkay,
        Crack is bad mmkay

      • Certainly insanely paranoid. But damn if it isn’t a devious plot.

      • If the ‘accepting 400 people must die to save the world’ without trying to save them until last moment is the case, it would be the Kyle/Duncan dilemma all over again.
The ‘was it accetable what Duncan did to Kyle, because he felt it was for the better good for the world in the end’? The answer will almost always depend on how personal involved someone is with the victims of ‘better good’.

I’ve debated that before. It’s a common dilemma in many situations. Doing something considered a bad deed otherwise, for the better end of a large group of people, a country or as far as the world.

  • davefragments

Michael Phelps won a silver medal in the 100 freestyle.
Katy Ledecky broke the WR in the 800m freestyle by over 2 seconds. I think it was her own record she broke, too. The rest of the swimmers were 11 seconds behind her. That’s her 4th Gold this Olympics.
Maya Dorado won a Gold in 200m backstroke.

    • It was so amazing to watch.

    • and Simone Manuel won gold as well!

And our women’s soccer team blew it and didn’t make it into the semi-finals. I watched the last 45 minutes or so of that game. They took it to a shootout and ARG!! Our girls were having an off day it seems.

      • davefragments

Simone Manuel was almost last night’s fall off the bed while I was watching. I’m lucky the nearest house is 200 feet away and the AC was on because they definitely would have heard that screaming.

      • I felt really bad for the Danish rower this morning, having one of her oars lock. 🙁

        • It always sucks when things just go wrong. Granted Sweden played really well. Their goalie was one tough cookie.

        • stickfigurefairytales

Oh, it makes me really sad for people when things go wrong like that.

      • davefragments

I’m not a soccer fan. I only heard about that.

        • I’m not a soccer fan either, but I like watching when the US women’s team is up. They play hard and never seem to give up.

        • Adam Black
          • davefragments

Don’t get me wrong. I think soccer would be a great sport for middle and high schools because of the number of people who can participate but I just don’t care to watch it. I do cheer for the US Women’s team.

          • For me soccer is one of the most boring sports there is. Don’t get why it’s so loved, but if there is some veeery important game, I might have the tv (partly) running in the background. Have happened maybe a handful of times.
I’d rather watch golf, that don’t interest me either, than soccer.

          • davefragments

Volleyball — both Beach and indoor volleyball. I just can’t stand watching.

          • Rarely sjown on the tv channels I have, ouside of Olympics.

          • Adam Black

I dont think you followed the link

          • Adam Black

            Turkish wrestling more your thing?

          • davefragments

Adam, Adam, Adam… you’re saying that to a man who says out loud “My car thumps to Grand Opera” and whose idea of fun music is Mahler, Messiaen, and anything Chopin (on piano, of course for the latter)?
            wink, wink
The irony just explodes off the page.
            grin

          • Adam Black

            manly guys doing manly things

      • stickfigurefairytales

Yeah, I was disappointed to learn about the women’s soccer loss. But go Simone Manuel!

        • I was so certain they would pull it out in the end, but they just didn’t. The game went like 130 minutes + and into a shoot out. Those girls were exhausted

          • stickfigurefairytales

It must be so, so tough at that point. I remember watching some World Cup games that lasted that long, and everyone was just completely dead on their feet.

          • You could see them fighting through it, they never gave up, but their goal shots were going wide or high.

          • stickfigurefairytales

            Sad… 🙁

          • I will hand it to the Swedish ladies, they were tough. They did steal one of the US women’s coaches from previous years.

    • davefragments

Anthony Ervin won Gold in the Beast Swim. (1/100 of a second) He’s 35
Nathan Adrian won the Bronze by 4/100ths.

The Beast swim is 50 meter freestyle which is a big-boy bash the water splash festival. BTW they are mostly 6’6″ and 6’7″ tall.

      • “big boy bash the water splash festival” I like it.

        • davefragments

It’s one length of the pool and they jump in and then beat the water to get to the other side fastest.

    • davefragments

BTW – Phelp’s silver was a three way tie between Phelps, Le Clos (the mad dancer), and Cseh. Which is hysterically funny when you think about it… They are all rivals on one podium with the same medal.

  • I think most people in the Olympics are wearing glow in the dark shoes….

    • like how do they not go blind tying their laces?

      • davefragments

        I hadn’t noticed.

        • people also look really weird when they slow down the video of the runners

          • davefragments

There’s no way to look dignified with a slow motion camera. Or drenched in a pool. Or covered with sweat and dust.

          • still looks weird. 😛

      • stickfigurefairytales

They must have to tie them with the lights on.

        • Lights on or off those shoes are blinding and the laces are the same shade of blinding yellow…

          • stickfigurefairytales

Hmm, maybe they tie them with their eyes closed, then? (Also, hi Doki!!)

          • Hi stick ^_^

    • Adam Black

Smart. With all the other problems in Rio, its backup for when they lose power

  • davefragments

I had words at the TV about the Green Diving Pool…
“Oh the water’s OK!” they said.
“It smells like a pharte!” came the news report.
Why is that? Dead and decomposing algae from (most likely) a failed filtration and circulation system. What stupid place doesn’t have a backup filter or pump?

    • Adam Black

Of course youy cant swim in it.
How stupid do they think people are?
Then again they are having people surf in raw sewage.

      • davefragments

If I were in my 20’s I would get one of these sail boards and have lots of fun. I love sail boats. Those things look like a challenge.

  • stickfigurefairytales

How’s everybody doing tonight/this morning/whatever time it is where you are?

    • Doing okay. Eating strawberry ice cream topped with strawberries!

      • stickfigurefairytales

        Ooh, yummy! Hi AJ!

        • Hi Sticky! What’s up with you?

          • stickfigurefairytales

Not too much. Just got through with a tiring week at work – two people are on vacation so I’ve been shouldering their workloads. I could still manage okay, but it was very busy.

            What’s up with you?

          • Hopefully you get a little extra pay for it!

Not much either. Been roasting coffee in the morning instead of the afternoon. I like getting it all done and over with, but mornings aren’t my time.

          • stickfigurefairytales

            Ughh, mornings…

          • Things just aren’t fully functioning at stupid o’clock

          • stickfigurefairytales

As I always like to put it, “It’s too early for this time of day.”

          • Oh I like that!!

          • stickfigurefairytales

            ^_^

    • davefragments

      Hi Stick.
      I’m watching the Olympics

      • stickfigurefairytales

I was watching earlier this evening, but then I got Olympic-ed out for the moment. What’s on right now?

        • Track

          • Women’s 100m.heat

          • stickfigurefairytales

            Nice!

          • Some of the outfits look like they are running in olympic underwear -_-

          • stickfigurefairytales

            Oh dear.

          • davefragments

The men divers in their speedos leave very little to the imagination.

          • Wish the men’s beach volley ball left little to the imagination. I think it’s highly unfair that the women are in skimpy little bathing suits but the men are in baggy shirts and shorts.

          • Yeah, totally unfair

          • Isn’t it?! I mean seriously, why do they get to be covered but the women barely are

          • Did I miss this?

          • davefragments

            Synchronized Diving.

One of the old eastern block countries in the men’s gymnasts I swear was wearing cotton boxers with no jockstraps. They were floppy. Kind of odd to watch. Distracting.

      • stickfigurefairytales

        Also, hi Dave!

        • davefragments

          🙂

    • Saxon_Brenton

Having a good Saturday. Just got back from doing some shopping.
Will need to do some housecleaning this afternoon, before I leave tomorrow morning for 2 weeks winter hols with family (when there will be serious dog walking on the beach).

      • stickfigurefairytales

Nice, Saxon! I hope that you have a great trip!!

    • Morning Stick, and everyone. So tired that I forgot what day it is for 3 clicks on the snooze button xD It wasn’t til after that 3rd push it registered in my brain that it was still dark outside, so not set for work.

      • stickfigurefairytales

Aw, poor Danish. We’re glad to have you here, though.

      • Morning Danish!

    • Zeruk

Fine, thanks for asking! I just woke up ten minutes ago?
Just in time for my first camp I see?

      • stickfigurefairytales

So glad you could make it, Zeruk! Welcome!

        • Zeruk

Thanks always glad to be around! :]

      • Saxon_Brenton

Greetings. As always, the trestle tables with the BYO buffet snacks are over there. The potato salad is quite good. There are toasting marshmallows for afters.

        • Zeruk

Haha Thanks Saxon, I was JUST about to ask about the marshies ;P

  • davefragments

Michelle Carter just won a Gold Medal in the Women’s Shot Put.
    She’s the “Shot Diva” …

    • stickfigurefairytales

      Yay!

    • Does anyone know how the US women did in Basketball. They were playing Canada at the same time the soccer game was going on. I shut off the tv after the soccer game, just too disappointed.

      • davefragments

the U.S. routed Canada, 81-51, Friday to clinch Group B in women’s basketball.

Does that sound right? I didn’t follow it.

        • That’s the results I found when I looked it up.

          http://results.nbcolympics.com/schedules/

        • I was mostly curious always wanting to cheer on our women athletes. I’m really not certain how it’s all broken down.

          • davefragments

I’ll tell you after the page

          • Apparently Leslie Jones is watching the beach volleyball…are they wearing their bras outside their shirts?

          • I’m following her on twitter. She’s a hoot!

          • They just showed her on the tv

  • And still Duncan’s hair isn’t mussed. What will it take to put even a single strand out of place?

    • stickfigurefairytales

If TYP could just harness the power of Duncan’s hair gel, I bet they could save the people in the box for sure.

      • OMG! This would be genius. Someone get on that stat! I mean, he’s had his powers taken (at least for now) and still it’s perfect.

  • Michael

OMG, I haven’t been available for a camp for ages! How is everyone?

    • davefragments

      OK

    • Saxon_Brenton

      Doing well.

    • stickfigurefairytales

Welcome back! I’m doing pretty well. How about you?

      • Michael

excellent! Elbows deep in coursework and assignments and an industry placement/work experience thing, but happy 🙂

        • stickfigurefairytales

          Glad to hear it. 🙂

          • Michael

Was I teaching children kung fu before I stopped being able to camp, or after? Because that’s also a thing I’m doing.

          • stickfigurefairytales

            Awesome!!

    • not too bad

    • Welcome back 🙂

    • Hi Michael! Not to bad here.
