Ouch.

IMG_1691

I’m exhibiting at San Diego Comic Con this weekJuly 20-24 . I’m tabling with the awesome Prism Comics booth (BOOTH # 2144 in Hall C).  And I have Artifice graphic novels and copies of The Young Protectors Volume One for sale. And, as a special treat, I’ve also brought The Young Protectors trading cards, including the 18+ card pack, which features fully nude art of the adult heroes and villains of The Young Protectors! Oh, and TYP sticker sheets! And NSFW print packs, too!

San Diego Comic Con takes place on July 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th, at the San Diego Convention Center, in San Diego, CA at 111 W Harbor Drive. As I’m sure you know, this is the biggest comics and geek entertainment convention in the world. All the tickets have been sold out for months, so chances are you know already whether you’re going to be attending. I just wanted to let you know that I will definitely be there and I’d love to see you.

And if you can’t come, but you know someone who is going, I’m always happy to personalize books for friends. You can just send them my way to pick up whatever you’d like, and I’ll be happy to sign and personalize it for you. 🙂

San Diego Comic Con is taking place this week, July 20-24, and I look forward to seeing you (and your friends!) at the Prism Comics booth #2144 in Hall C (and you can locate the Prism Comics booth on this map of the Expo Hall here.)

So! The Annihilator says he doesn’t have his powers anymore. Should we believe him?

Tune in this Wednesday to find out! Hope to see you there! 😀

  • ooooOOoooh!!

  • davefragments

Smash that pretty face with your fists…
    Blacken those eyes.
    He deserves it!

    (sorry, I’m bloodthirsty tonight)

    • Although he may feel a little guilty for beating up a powerless old man. o.O That is if he isn’t lying, but if he were I don’t think there would be that much carnage to his face

      • davefragments

If on the next page he kisses him passionately, I’ll cheer that too.

        😉

        • Haha! Granted I’m okay with him railing on Duncan, he does deserve it, just wasn’t certain how Kyle would feel hitting a powerless man.

Of course I’ll probably cheer the kiss too. I’m so bad.

          • Michael

Dunc was fine using and dumping a powerless boy. He deserves everything Kyle can give him.

        • Klaus

But will the kiss make it better?

          • davefragments

It’s like hate sex — that’s some of the best sex. Wild, passionate, committed to maybe bashing your brains out at the (oh rats have I backed myself into a corner there. Be nice! Be nice!)
Second only to having sex with a certifiably crazy person. Ya never know what is going to happen but the road is more fun than just plain sex…

          • Klaus

I have not tried either, and I can’t say I have any wish to.

      • davefragments

I agree. Kyle isn’t ruthless or uncaring.

        • No he’s not. And now we have to wait until Tuesday. Arg!

      • Stephen Hutchison

Really? Powerless? Do you SEE how that man is built? Even with normal human power levels he’s buff. Just REALLY tired. (And can you honestly tell me that smug, arch face he’s always making didn’t urge you to punch him just a little the first time you saw him?)

        • Well, he just got blowed up, lost his powers because he got blowed up, was on the receiving end of a tackling drop kick to the face and several rage filled punches to said face, yes, I believe he’s a bit powerless, lovely built body or no. 🙂

I also believe Duncan doesn’t knows what to do without his powers and for Duncan without his powers, he believes himself to be weak. That’s partly why he made the deal with Laampy so that never happens to him.

Now, I did say elsewhere that he deserves to get punched in the face, I was just speculating that Kyle might feel a little guilty with hitting an old man without his powers, because at that moment, that’s just what Duncan is.

  • Mitch is back. ^_^

    • stickfigurefairytales

      He is! Yay!!

      • *glomps stick* hi

        • stickfigurefairytales

*glomps Doki back* Hi!! I’m back too! Sorry about the absence – I’ve been having computer trouble lately.

          • Bad computer giving stick problems!

          • stickfigurefairytales

Thanks for having my back. ^_^

          • Any time. ^_^

  • D. G.

I kinda feel sorry for Anni.

  • Anni really doesn’t know how to deal without his powers.

    • camelotcrusade

Remains to be seen, I think. He’s could still be quite the manipulator…

      • Sure, but physically, he’s just at a loss. He doesn’t know how to work without them.

  • Tyler Griffin

    All the more reason… 😛
Oopsie. I think my general rage at the world at large is showing tonight lol

  • syllibub

*low whistle* This…is a situation. I’m very curious to see Kyle’s reaction.

  • Mary Klemzak

Don’t believe him, but you gotta get out of the way so Spooky can do his thing.

And wait, what powers did he have before? Looks like another read through is due. Oh well.. been awhile..

Hope you’re havinga good time at SDCC, and sell lots of merch, and turn more people on to the wonderful world of yaoi!

    • stickfigurefairytales

Invulnerability, as well as super strength and super speed. The invulnerability part is what’s really key here.

      • Mary Klemzak

Ohh okay. They would be a problem now if he lost them. Or is he taking, so Kyle will let his guard down? I don’t trust that tricky silver fox.

        • stickfigurefairytales

That is indeed the $64,000 question here. But the fact that Duncan is clearly getting injured and not immediately healing does suggest that he’s being at least somewhat truthful (to my mind, anyway).

        • timemonkey

Faking would be impressive seeing as Kyle just drew blood with his punch.

  • Insta-shiner. Ouchy, that gotta hurt. Clearly easier to hurt now, so the powerless theory is confirmed.

    • Gregory In Seattle

Keep in mind, he’s had invulnerability powers for much, if not all, of his life. He is not used to physical pain: it has been decades, at least, since he had to suffer through stubbed a toe or a paper cut. Much less a kick to the head, a knee to the chest, and a betrayed lover punching him about the face.

Yeah, that has REALLY gotta hurt.

      • Yeah, I compared his loss of power to being like a newborn on last page. A whole new reality of how to learn to handle things if it’s permanent – and if he survives Laampy’s arrival (which possibly happens).

        • Klaus

If Laampros does arrive, Duncan has kept his part of the bargain.

          • Yeah, I’m sure he’d enjoy an eternity of youth while powerless in a world with both PP and Laampros in it. Duncam wouldn’t be of use for PP, and ruling the Americas is a near impossible wish.
It would be a bet of who kills him first, Pp or Laampy?

      • Klaus

He was slapped around a bit by Killer in Hong Kong.back in chapter one.

  • timemonkey

So what? He’s not going to kill you and a few punches to the face is the least you deserve.

  • Now it seems certain that something happened to Duncan’s powers, I can say what I have been thinking for a couple pages. Yes, keep Fluke away from him.

If anyone would want to hug Fluke right now , it might be Duncan. Fluke being super charged with bad luck could by freak coinsidende possibly give a big enemy his powers back. It would be such a strike of bad luck.
Oki, it could also end up causing more harm to Duncan, but if the thought occured to him (about Fluke), I’m sure he’d take the chance. Being powerless must have him in a panic.

…oh, unless for some really weird reason they would want Duncan to regin powers. Then there’s a thing to try.

    • stickfigurefairytales

Now I’m brainstorming ways for them to help Fluke start safely discharging his massive buildup of bad luck. So far I’ve come up with handing him an ice cream cone that’s at least five scoops high (guaranteed to fall on the ground before he can lick it) and having him call coin tosses (once he stops being wrong every single time that’ll mean his bad luck’s starting to even out). Ooh, and also he should put on a white shirt or something – it’d be bound to get horribly stained right away.

      • stickfigurefairytales

Ooh! And he should start painstakingly building a house of cards or something else super fragile that’s bound to get destroyed just as he’s about to add the finishing touch!

        • Klaus

In an incredible stroke of bad luck, he actually finishes it and gets even more negative charge.

      • Klaus

Those coin tosses would need to mean something. Bet enough on them that he would feel the loss, for example, Or whack him each time he misses.

    • bronakopdin

but if they wanted him with powers, wouldn’t it be called luck again? in that case the option of regaining the power seems to rather not be a possibility of what might happen, given they do need it.

      • Not necessarily. If, for any reason they try the power restoring, then Fluke is the one who take a huge risk by getting/being close to Duncan if it works. They can’t be sure Duncan wouldn’t turn on Fluke, so it would be a bad idea doe himself to do it.
If nothing happens, it’s not taking that first dangerous risk away.

  • Hours Left

Still appreciating Duncan’s generously and strategically torn ensemble. Don’t mess up his face too much Kyle.

  • stickfigurefairytales

Sucks to be you right now, Duncan.

  • Jeff Baker

    “Holy punching bag!”

    • Zeruk

      “Holy smokes Batman!”

  • stickfigurefairytales

I wonder if his powers normally extend to his costume, too. I would think you’d want to make your fighting costume out of something that wouldn’t get shredded by most explosions.

    • davefragments

      Hey there…
I thought you were hiding out at the convention, partying with the republicans. (wink, wink)…

      • stickfigurefairytales

I’m just happy we got through it all without anything terrible happening (beyond Donald Trump being in our city…ewwww…)

My sister did go to a cool protest on Thursday that was organized by some of the many Muslim doctors and nurses who work here. I sadly had to work so I couldn’t join her, but I was really proud.

        • davefragments

It was a disaster of planning and a festival of mistakes.

I was abusing republicans online last night about Code Pink being in the Center and getting thrown out of the place. Code Pink is a bunch of little old ladies with blue-gray hair dressed in pink. How hard is it to see them? How terrible can the be as a protest? Considering my age and considering my Mother’s behavior as she went through her 80’s, I’d cheer them and be done with it.
But republicans act like boobs around protesters.

    • Hi Stick!!

      • stickfigurefairytales

Hi AJ!! I’m glad to be back!!

        • It’s a good time to come back. I mean, we all get to imagine that’s us hitting Duncan!

    • camelotcrusade

Well he did include the solar panel for the sex machine (still intact, mind you) and I’m not talking about his hair.

  • camelotcrusade

Safe word Duncan, say the safe word!

    • timemonkey

      Laampros ba sukoth ba suggoroth!
Or was that just the one time? XD

      • Zeruk

Lmao i’m surprised you remember that!

      • Klaus

        Those are unsafe words.

    • Saxon_Brenton

      You mean, “I surrender”?

    • Klaus

      He did say “please”.

  • Gregory In Seattle

Maybe Fluke hit the dampening field in just the right way so that when it blew up, a key part got lodged in Duncan’s outfit. Now it is a contact-only nullification effect and not a large field. Man, that would have been a very, very lucky hit.

    • If it’s only something attached to Duncan, causing power loss, let’s hope it doesn’t fall off soon.

  • Sapfo

Way to be a hero Kyle? I guess this is why they are heros in training….

  • Jeldenil

Looks like Amanda is about to push him away anyway.

  • Zeruk

To be honest this page really tickles me…
Spooky: STAY BACK KYLE MY LOVE HE’S DANGEROUS!
(Oh wait he didn’t say that? I think he did…)
Duncan must have been scared when he heard that though. They still think he’s fangerous and they’re about to destroy the guy before he get’s out a single word.

It’s almost like Kyle and Duncan switch places for a second, Kyle is so bloodthirsty! (Kinda hot…???) While Duncan D is a defenseless donut.

(P.S I’m finally back from the abyss! I REALLY missed the TYP Community <3 <3 <3)

    • Zeruk

Also…Alex your face is so beautiful!!!! Please continue to bless us with your charming smile! 🙂

      • Hi Zeruk. Welcome back. It’s been a while since I remember seeing your name in the comments.

        And Alex is a sweetheart.

        • Zeruk

Thankyou!!! ….I don’t know what to say! I’m actually happy you remember my name since I love reading most of your comments! : ]

          • Thank you too. Hope you keep commenting now that you’re back 🙂

          • Zeruk

            Will do! :]

  • Concerto

    Haaawhhh he is kissing hiiim …. With his fist ;_;

    • Toli Bera

You hit me once, I hit you back, You gave a kick, I gave a slap, You smashed a plate, Over my head, Then I set fire to our bed.

  • Eris, elder daughter of Nyx

And some people (don’t remember who, sorry) called it! The Duncanator is without his powers! For how long? Permanently? Maybe this is the end of his being a super villain, whether he likes it or not!

  • Happy Birthday to you
    Happy Birthday to you
    Happy Birthday dear @starrwinter:disqus
    Happy Birthday to you!

    • Happy Birthday Star!

      • Sapfo

        Twinkle, twinkle, little Starr
How I wonder…. No, I dont wonder. I just want you to have a real good birthday ^^

  • David Welbourn

I think it’s time for Commander to do a little scan of Duncan’s mind; that’s one way to find out for sure if he’s telling the truth (as he knows it).

  • Michael

So, he can actually feel Kyle’s punches? All the more reason to keep right on punching!

Or maybe remember the fact that you have fire power.

  • Klaus

He obviously does not have anywere near his full powers. More than that he would not even know himself.

  • Klaus

Duncan speaks of his motives on the last panel of this page:
    http://webcomics.yaoi911.com/typ/ete-ch2-page-47/
and the first panel on the next. How do you think he feels now?

    • Saxon_Brenton

Yes. So very much this. That page and his speech about his fears of growing older and weaker were among the first things that I thought of.

Other people have discussed how Red Hot is too much of a hero to beat up on Annihilator out of mere revenge. I agree. What I’m less sure about and which I think will be more telling is how Annihilator reacts to the sudden and possible permanent loss of the advantages that he had, even if those were slowly weakening. He’s tried to comport himself with a kind of twisted dignity so far (even if his “I’m sorry you were hurt but this is all about me” speech was less than edifying) so I’m hoping he doesn’t slip into whinyness.

      • Klaus

Wouldn’t it be interesting if he ended up with youth and perfect health unending, but no powers?

        • timemonkey

          Depends on how young.

  • Wyrmidon

No matter the guilt and harm done to me, I have never been one for revenge, especially not through violence. If I do the same thing a villain would do, how am I any better? I actually feel sorry for Duncan right now. Without his powers, he’s just an old man, probably even afraid of the world suddenly becoming dangerous and deadly to him after all those years. Falling off a pedestal like that always hurts. It can also be a chance for redemption. Here’s hoping…

  • bronakopdin

    GOOD!
I really think Duncan deserved those few punces but I also agree that the point was made and he shouldn’t be beaten to a pulp. After all he is “just an old man” now… I guess Amanda or one of the others will stop Kyle when they arrive and Spooky will then restrict him.
I hope it not only helped Kyle to lose some of his anger but also Duncan to fetch a glimpse of what his actions have done >___>’

    • Klaus

It is possible, but I doubt it. To Kyle being a hero is the core of his character. Spooky used that to good effect back at the love nest. A hero does not beat up a defenseless man.

      • bronakopdin

I agree with what you said but I wonder to which part of my post you say this x’D sorry I might just be slow atm

        • Klaus

          I misread you post. Sorry.

          • bronakopdin

oh LOL no worries xD now I’m curious though what you thought you read?

          • Klaus

That they would need to restrain Kyle.

          • bronakopdin

aye ^^ it is actually possible to read it like that I should be more clear and add a name there insted of “Him” thanks for the hint 🙂

  • Aitsuki

Say WHAAAAT? Seeing him with a black eye and bloody nose is SO WEIRD. But it feels good, gotta say.

  • Klaus

    Starfighter page 83 was posted.

    • Sanbai

      WHAT? *races away*

    • 83 ^_^ Posted a link on the previous page. ^_^

      • Klaus

I wonder how you saw that 82. It was a typo that I corrected within 10 seconds. Yet you saw it 7 hours later.

        • Doki didn’t refresh the page until after commenting. ^_^ Though it was with a batch of “new comments” so I think I had to refresh to get the fixed comment.

  • I was sufficiently distracted by the story that it was only on the second go through the page that I noticed the rather fine display of manly chest in the first panel. Also, Kyle does not appear to have noticed exactly where he’s sitting. (But I have, because I’m a dirty old woman.)

Can’t see Kyle continuing to beat up Duncan once he’s calmed down enough to realise that Duncan’s not invulnerable any more, and he really *is* beating him up. He’s a real hero, unlike the Terrible Twosome; and even if he’s angry enough to want to beat up someone who’s treated him as badly as Duncan has, he doesn’t get his kicks from hurting other people. Especially not when it’s a distraction from saving the sacrifical victims in the glass box.

    • Will Parkinson

      Oh, I’m sure he’s probably sat there before…. 😉

    • Adam Black

I dont think Kyle has super strength

Duncan just isnt used to pain at all. This is a fair fight. Duncan is stronger.

      • Klaus

Is he stringer? Kyle is very fit. And Duncan is injured.

        • Stephen Hutchison

Yes. Unenhanced muscle strength is a function of cross-section and leverage. Duncan is probably a bit smaller than at his peak ONLY because he doesn’t seem likely to train properly, but (for example) his arms are clearly 2-3 inches bigger around than Kyle’s, and the rest of him is scaled up as well. So in raw strength he’d still have it over Kyle if he wasn’t stunned and exhausted from the energy-drain kapow.

        • Adam Black

I like when you say; “Kyle is very Fit”
          yes, yes he is

  • Elikal Ialborcales

Good. Now remember that Anakin did with Count Dooku and take Duncan out of the picture before he starts Evil World Plan 2.o. >:D

  • Kitkat822

Very jealous of any comic-con goers, perhaps next year (I tell myself every year!)

  • Stephen Hutchison

I … don’t have my powers. Pause. Look. Nose is actually bleeding. Huh.

PUNCH AGAIN BECAUSE HE DESERVED IT.

  • Maus Merryjest

So he doesn’t have his powers? Then I guess Red Hot can’t beat him to a pulp.

Instead, give a good YANK of that chest hair so Duncan remembers you do not screw with us redheads.

He could have a doily made out of it and mailed to Duncan’s jail cell. That would be a nice touch for the cell.

  • Shiny Gwilly

oh geez, Anni is quite battered and bruised, definitely a sign that he’s telling the truth, i doubt he’d be that messed up if he did have his powers

i’m sure Kyle will listen, even thru his anger, and if not then one of the others will be pulling him back (but Kyle is too much of a good guy to really keep going….hopefully?)

….but one more punch wouldn’t hurt anyway

    • Sanbai

      Or you know…ten…

  • Adam Black

Didnt he just escape Spookys holding spell with his speed power?

( Goes to last page to check http://webcomics.yaoi911.com/typ/ete-ch4-page-54/

    seems like he has powers.

    • Klaus

Duncan as we know him, would have been on his feet immediately.

    • He barely moves away. Not a very big jump, and not landing on his feet.

    • SchalaRenee

Maybe he just has great reflexes, even without his power.

      • Adam Black

        i dont trust him

  • Toli Bera

Considering the Lampy carving, I find that suspicious.

  • Malusz

Something hints the possibility Kyle was slightly annoyed by Duncan’s betrayal

    • bronakopdin

just a slight hint though x’D

      • LimpBiskit

        barely even noticeable.

        • bronakopdin

one might even think it’s just an exaggeration of our part

          • Malusz

Hmm. Maybe annoyed was too strong. Irritated?

          • bronakopdin

we’re just continuing with the sarcasm ^^

          • Klaus

            Maybe slightly sarcastic.

    • Stephen Hutchison

I think it’s a toss-up between him being slightly peeved by the man’s ridiculous “for your own good” argument, and the very necessary requirement that Duncan be kept from doing further Evil.

    • Toli Bera

I mean, he is straddling Duncan, going rough and raw… just probably not in the way either envisioned.

  • Earl Patterson

Awww Duncan, I don’t buy your bullshit

  • Andy Diehl

Kyle: “Oh, good. That’ll make this much easier on my fists!”

  • Pietro7

The blood dripping from Kyle’s fist – powerful statement there.

    • davefragments

He broke his nose. Noses bleed. Hurt like hell too when they get broken.

  • somebody has some pent up anger…

    • Klaus

      One wonders why.

  • Dekira

Last time those two were together Dunkan did pretty much the same thing(both physical and emotional). I find it ironical in a way… Who’s riding now who? Huh Dunkan?

  • TwilightDreamer

Just looking at your face in that last panel, yeah…ok….I’ll believe you Anni…but I wouldn’t deny Kyle one or two more punches before suggesting he relents.
Certainly don’t want him to kill Anni after all.

  • SchalaRenee

Aww. Poor Anni. Getting his butt kicked by the son of the demon he failed. Then daddy demon’s going to come for him and kick his butt…he just can’t keep from getting wailed on by hellspawn.

    • Klaus

“You need only one word of advice on dealing with demons: don’t.” This is from a role playing game, but I think it applies in this story too.

      • SchalaRenee

So true. This applies to my favorite show, Supernatural, too. Except Crowley is awesome and ALWAYS keeps his end of the bargain. He will mess you up if you fail, though.

    • Zephyr10101

      He’s a hell spawn?

  • Zephyr10101

Even more of a reason to beat him

  • Sunseahl Silverfall

*waits for commander to confirm that Kyle’s near-killed a powerless Duncan, shocking and stunning Kyle into turtling his everything in guilt*

  • Johndar

He pretty clearly doesn’t have his powers, yeah. Seeing as how Kyle just bloodied his nose.

  • GeorgeTSLC

Well, no powers but a body … and face .. and probably voice!–to stop me in my tracks. And Kyle, too, if he pauses to notice.

  • Cman65

When did somebody not having any powers stop Annie from beating then?

    • Klaus

That is the difference between a hero and a villain. Or rather one of the differences,

  • Chris Dangerfield

“O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!” [I] chortled in [my] joy.

Oh how I’ve waited for this lovely page 55. Is it my birthday? No? Well it feels like it is.

Thank you kindly Alex, Adam and Veronica for this gem of a page. I know there are set backs to come, and Kings of Hell to deal with. I know to expect twists and turns unexpected and often alarming. However, our boy, Kyle, needed this page badly and so, it seems, did I.

    Go figure.

Thank you all! (Yup, that’s me. Deep like a puddle. 🙂

  • i guess you shoulda thought of that before-hand, shouldn’t ya have, Anhi?

i do suppose i was looking forward to kyle’s mounting duncan.. ..i hadn’t anticipated such happening like this!
    L.o.L.

i appreciate that none of his teammates (yet) have actually said to kyle, any (sentimental/goody-goodied) foolishness like “please, stop! that’s enough! the poor bastard’s has had enough!”

  • amusingmurff

Kyle’s pulling a bit of a Jon Snow there

  • somebody

damn kyle…. you’re beating the shit out of an old man who can’t defend himself (at least if he is not lying)

looks like he can finally let go of some anger issues

  • Keneu

Imagine if Duncan loses his powers for good.

  • karmakat

trick…or not? hard to be sure with him and all his tricks so far.

    • Klaus

A black eye and a bloody nose are not easy to fake. Even if he has a diguise kit in that belt, he has had no time to use it.

        fully agree on that
but…his healing could just be TRYING to catch up…and sincerely a black eye, bloody nose and piece of clothes rip…a bit odd to get just that for a big explosion no? that’s why i still wonder

        • Klaus

He still had his powers then. Note that his nose does not bleed until Kyle hits him.

          • karmakat

still could be that his powers are overloaded for now and just “busy elsewhere”

          • timemonkey

The fact that he was hurt at all by the punches shows his invulnerability and even strength are gone.

          • karmakat

yeah yeah…not getting into a conversation with you again. bye

  • Nate

So, let’s think about this for a bit. We were all assuming that the final battle would be between TYP and Team Silver for the fate of the world, but this just occurred to me:

Assuming they can shut everything down, that means Anni has reneged on his deal with Laampros. And the devil will want his due. So what if the real battle to come is between Kyle & his father… for Duncan’s soul?

(Of course, after the good guys win, Kyle can dump him like a bad habit, and go off and be happy with Spooky. 😉 )

    • Sounds good to me. 😉

    • davefragments

Consider that Sircea might still return to make trouble for everyone.

      • Might? I expect her to return. What she will do then is up to be seen 🙂

        • Nate

          Six weeks in Vegas?

    • amusingmurff

I am not going to lie, I was so caught up with the drama and tentacle beanstalk and laser bears and artfully ripped villian outfits I completely forgot Laampros was both a) Kyle’s dad and b) imminently arriving

  • Stephen Hutchison

I have the speculations about what will happen when that Gateway lets Kyle’s Daddy come through even without the sacrifices to open it completely. But they’re my own head canon and will remain sekrit.

    • I have a few speculations myself that I keep to myself until I see more of how thibgs go. What seemns more fittinbg and what may never be more than possible ways it could have gone.

    • Adam Black

      Spill your secrets now,
—-Or else i kill this innocent Pokemon ..
      Its blood on your hands.
( they have blood, right? . i guess we will find out )

      • Stephen Hutchison

Nah. Head canons need to be kept private as loose head canons become loose cannons and careen about making fandom into fan-dumb.

        • Adam Black

          Then Its Chansey Burger-time.

He’s begging. You can still save him

          • Stephen Hutchison

I do not negotiate with Poketerrorists. It’s unheroic.
However, I will tell you if my ridiculous contemplations came through when we all find out what happens.

          • Adam Black

Unheroic? Compared to millions of people Dogfighting them to death?

Thats some major Poke-Vegan Hypocrisy right there!

          • Stephen Hutchison

I do not Dogfight my pokemon. I have yet to catch my first one.

          • Adam Black

So a Poke-Poacher in training, eh?

          • Stephen Hutchison

Are you suggesting that I boil poor unsuspecting eggsecute in hot water? I never heard of such a thing.

          • Adam Black

Or just a straight up lemonjuice cook. I think its far more moral to eat them then make them fight to the death.

          • Stephen Hutchison

But if they fight to the death then you can cook them afterwards.

          • Adam Black

            enjoy the nutrition.

        • Adam Black

          like puns?

          • Stephen Hutchison

            Love them.

  • Platos_Redhaired_Stepchild

So, Duncan’s lost his powers (possibly for good) and Daddy Laampros is on the way. ‘Fail me and I will destroy you.’ Well, Duncan failed.

“He who sups with the devil should have a long spoon”

    • Klaus

If Laampros does arrive, Duncan has not failed. Laampros must have a way to destroy Duncan even if does not come to earth. Otherwise his threat would be empty.

  • Mir

Hmmm, how could Kyle ever understand being defenseless against someone you care about? OOOHH wait he does. :/

  • davefragments

Important — Ego, the living planet, is Starlord’s Father!

    • Adam Black

      what>?

      • davefragments

It’s a Guardians of the Galaxy thing.

        • Stephen Hutchison

It’s also kind of a spoiler, you spoilery spoilmonger.

    • Saxon_Brenton

[rubs face in hands] I’m enough of an old-school comics nerd that my first reaction was not that my mind went blank in stunned surprise, but instead that I started trying to remember if there was anything in the comics cannon that could be bent/folded/spindled/mutilated enough to make that plausible. (And admittedly, there is.)

      • davefragments

They announced it at Comic Con. A few comments below is a link to the story. That’s all I know.
BTW — I didn’t read the comic so I don’t know how it differs from the books.

  • A tiny bit late, but… HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DOKI.

    • Happy Birthday Doki!!

      • Adam Black

Thats no fair, i started typing first.

        • 😛 Apparently I type faster.

          • Adam Black

Or …You have some secret Mod time-window ?

I’m not saying its a conspiracy… but you have captured many “virgins” . How fast can fingers be?

          • Nope, no conspiracy. Just a few non-mod tools. Patreon and email. Amazing things.

          • Adam Black

Ah so more like the Electronic version, of a Russian Olympian . Hopped on Cyber Velocity 9

          • Adam Black

        • purplefoxglove

          • Thanks purplefox!

          • Pietro7

I’m late to the party, but happy birthday Doki, and many more. Sending thoughts of warm fuzzies, cool sherbet, and hot toddys your way.

          • Thanks! I am having an Arbor Mist White Zinfindel Exotic Fruits. It is good. ^_^

        • 😀

    • Adam Black

      I second the motion

    • Thanks Danish. ^_^

    • davefragments

Yes, Happy Birthday Doki and many more…

  • davefragments

Mi aerodeslizador esta lleno de anguilas

    • Saxon_Brenton

Did they get there on their own, or did someone prank you?

      • davefragments

I think it started out its life as a Monty Python line.

        • Saxon_Brenton

Yes, it did. I was strongly tempted to reply with “My nipples explode with delight”

  • So I wonder if it’s permanent or just a temporary loss of powers

    • davefragments

Maybe Laampros is draining Duncan’s powers because he impatient for the gateway to open…

      • That would be interesting.

I also wonder how the deal will work if he never gets his powers back. He would just be a young dude forever but without the powers?

        • davefragments

That’s intriguing. I’ve also wondered if by sealing the “walls” of the dimensions, that the act would destroy all magic in the world. Then most of the super powered people would lose those powers. What would they all do?

    • Saxon_Brenton

I am partial to the plot twist that a powerless and captured Annihilator guiltily watches the Young Protectors oppose Laampros in an attempt to save the world (including any supervillains that may be hanging around). Then he gets a tingly feeling as his powers comes back, easily breaks out of the ropes/handcuffs/hastily-rejigged-antigrav-prison-pods that the YP were using to restrain him — and then has a moment of angsty inner debate as he tries to figure out whose side to join, knowing full well that his help will be the thing that tips the balance.

      • That would be some dilemma!

        • Saxon_Brenton

          Patented Woolfson doubt and uncertainty!

      • davefragments

I don’t think Duncan wants Laampros to come through. I think that he was doubting Sircea
