I don’t think she needs his permission.

Earlier, I shared that this month’s $5+ Patreon backers are getting a very special treat — one of my most favorite pin-up images we’ve ever created — a very special pairing of Spooky and Kyle!

AMW_Comics_TYP-ETE-V1-KS-KYLExSPOOKY_400px

But that’s not the only sexy pairing with the Spookster that Patrons are getting this month. They’re also getting a very special pin-up with Spooky paired with Tsunami too!

AMW_Comics_TYP-ETE-V1-KS-SPOOKYxTSUNAMI-400px

Checkmate can be so satisfying…

$5+ Patrons for January will get to see the full (and fully nude) versions of both of these pin-ups once their pledges clear in the first week of February. $10+ Patrons will get sent a high-res version of the full pin-ups with over double the resolution!

There are lots of great benefits to being a Patron (you can see them all here along with an explanation of what the heck Patreon is), and you’d really be helping me out if you became one too. If you’re enjoying our work here and would like to see it continue (and would like to get access to all kinds of special benefits),

please take a moment to watch the video on my Patreon page and consider becoming a Patron.

So! Is Commander really the weakest member of The Young Protectors? Should Spooky Jones be the one put to the knife? Oh, and what’s The Platinum Priestess going to do?

Tune in this Wednesday to find out! Hope to see you there! 😀

  • O.O Um, Mr. Duncanator…run??

    • davefragments

      congratulations

      • Hee! I thought for a moment I wouldn’t get it. My hand slipped and then my mouse tried to put my screensaver up.

        • davefragments

I’ve had stuff like that happen.

          • Such a pain when everything tries to go wonky.

  • Uh oh. She scare’s me.

  • Sapfo

    Oh No!

  • davefragments

    Do I need permission?
    You had to ask!
Only if you aren’t a complete fool or a total pair of buttocks

  • syllibub

    Hahahaaaa…crap.

  • I love the look on the Commanders face in that last panel. She looks ready to wipe the floor with Her Goddessness.

    • Kate G

      Ahem, you mean Her Platinumass.

      • Ha!

Well, she feels she’s a goddess. I suppose I was just hedging my bets. 😀

        • Kate G

Well, I have to get a good dig and try to get a pun in there whenever I can.

  • Sapfo

The rules in BDSM are that everyone needs to know the safeword! You might be a Priestess, but now you have to get premission.

    • Adam Black

Its “cookie monster” , isn’t it?

      • That’s too much of a mouthful to say.

        • Adam Black

          ohh, @Ad@admiraljane:disqus
          ( thats the point )

  • Not fair man, not fair, now we have to wait for the next page. #iwannaknownow!

    • Klaus

And so it will be for more than a year, I hope.

  • Cman65

You do need his permissiom, he made the deal with Big-Red-and-Evil you my dear Poo-Poo are just here for the ride

  • ‘She needs to die’
    ‘No she doesn’t’
    ‘You won’t be doing this’
    ‘I’ll do what I want’

.. Mommy and Daddy super villain are fighthing. In this case you don’t want to interupt them, and ask them.. nicely (loudly) to make up their mind. Have a clear feeling who’d have their way here, if the had to decide. Nope, keep fighting. Bickering super villains are good. Might give the ‘kids’ a chance.

  • Wildroses

She isn’t going to do it. She’s focusing on taunting Duncan. If she was serious she wouldn’t have said anything or be brushing her weapon gently against Amanda’s neck. She’d have just gone stab.

Of course, if the next panel is a full page spread of Amanda having her neck torn open by Sircea, I’m going to feel like a ninny.

    • timemonkey

There are reasons to draw it out. Duncan has shown doubts, has questioned her, she needs to see where he truly stands and if that means slowly killing a few teenagers in front of him, so be it.

      • Wildroses

Yeah. This has stopped being about killing them in the name of prudence and guaranteed safety, and is now a power struggle. Which is why I think Amanda is definitely safe for the next few seconds/one panel as they keep arguing.

But I’m not putting any bets on Amanda’s life past that right now. I need to see what Duncan is going to say about her not needing his permission and if Sircea will stop talking and make a serious attempt at murder instead of the knife play bondage act she’s performing for Duncan’s benefit.

  • Where are the containment units that are supposed to be under them?

    • Yes, all machinery is gone. Could be an effect for the panel, though it’s not usually like that o.O

      • Kate G

It could be that they would be little blobs or they’d clutter up the page too. If you look at other comics, sometimes they do that to prevent clutter. Plus, it has the attractive bonus on making you hone in on what the exchange. It frames the villains up nicely.

    • I reached out to Adam about this, and it seems a layer got turned off before he uploaded the final pencils. We’re working on a fix now. 🙂

  • syllibub

So Sircea’s supposedly the one acting based on emotion? Interesting redirection.

I’m really surprised Duncan doesn’t get why Amanda is the most formidable opponent in that group. (Actually I’d say Spooky’s on par with her, but as Duncan so intelligently pointed out, he’s zonked at the moment.) Unless he’s trying to minimize the threat Amanda poses so Sircea will be less inclined to murder her, in which case, good effort, but I’d say Sircea already knows better. And I’m not sure how “bloodthirsty” it is, really — it kind of depends on how she intends to kill Amanda. Quick and efficient removal of threat = brutal, but understandable from a villain’s perspective, since why would you risk another disruption so close to Laampros’s arrival? Maximum splatter = cruel and unreasonable.

Duncan implying he can order her around might be enough of a distraction to keep Amanda safe, though, if he keeps the argument going long enough.

  • Chris Dangerfield

    THAT is my Sircea! Effin-A!

Permission? I don’t need no effin permission. And THAT is just a stone truth.

    • Adam Black

      Your chisel was bust tonight

      • Chris Dangerfield

you chisel your bust and I’ll chisel mine…

  • Come on, Duncan, stay strong! You’re doing so well.

  • Adam Black

I’m having trouble reconciling this Duncan with the psychopath that burned down a tenement just to get a date.

Edit: ( maybe they are playing Good cop versus Bad cop )

    • Chris Dangerfield

      Nice remembrance… Seriously.

      • Adam Black

        I *never* forgot. Thats why.

        • Chris Dangerfield

Well good for you. I think memory is way over-rated! 😀

          • Adam Black

            Thats more 40 over-wisdom, huh?

            Should I …write that down?

          • Chris Dangerfield

Sure, but you won’t remember where you put it. Just take it as fact that I am wise and word is gospel and you’ll be fine. HA.

          • Klaus

Everything was better in the good old days. Memory especially.

          • Adam Black

            how do you know?

          • Chris Dangerfield

WHAT? EH? Can you type louder? (it’s so true… I’m in the phase of walking from one end of the house to the other and then forgetting why I came there and having to walk back to remember what it was I wanted…) It’s sad really.

The only satisfaction I have now, is knowing all the young’uns, like Alex, will soon start having to go back to read their earlier chapters to remember WHY Gordon is so grumpy. HA!

Age… until they invent ‘rejuve’ it’s going to happen to all of you pups (if you’re lucky). 😀

    • James Belnap

It was a date he needed to get to stop the end of the world. Anyone who might have died in that fire was an acceptable loss. Anyone she kills right now would be pointless.

      • Adam Black

        2 words: Police scanner.
        ’nuff said.

    • Wildroses

Well he wasn’t really trying to get a date with a guy he liked, he was trying to persuade an unaware Prince of Hell to trust him so he could summon his father to make a deal to save the world from disaster. Duncan is an ends justify means type who won’t condemn people unless there is a reason he considers valid. He was willing to risk the lives of the people in the tenement to get Kyle to trust him, but he doesn’t see any reason to kill a bunch of helpless kids.

But you could also make the argument that Kyle has changed Duncan as he only really began to start saying things like: “Gee, I’m doing some pretty horrible things, aren’t I? Maybe I should try and stop doing horrible things unless it is necessary” after he’d knowingly and deliberately betrayed Kyle.

      • I also figure that Duncan was certain that Kyle and his team would succeed in putting out the fire and rescuing the people, so in his eyes, no harm no foul.

        • timemonkey

And if anything had happened they couldn’t handle he could have stepped in himself. Which would have also earned him a lot of cred on the ‘trying to repent’ act.

          • Adam Black

            Too risky.

Villain shows up in the midst of heroes.

          • timemonkey

Hardly, villain shows up in the middle of children. Saving lives and catching them all off guard.

          • Adam Black

and Immediately after spooky nabs him with a demon and a potion

          • timemonkey

Because he’s going to want to provoke the most dangerous super villain in the world around a group of cizilians and underage kids when he’s actively saving lives?

          • Adam Black

            Exactly.
            (1) It would make Duncan the prime suspect of the fire.

            (2) Duncan would have to take hostages to guarantee his safety. Because when hes done saving lives, he will be the target.

Duncan could have just *not set the fire* and gotten the same results.

          • Chris Dangerfield

Mebbe… I do buy all that. But I remember “coming out of the closet” and there’s not a huge amount of rational thinking in that period. It takes a while. So, I also think Kyle’s confusion contributed a lot to the course of events.

          • Very true!

          • Adam Black

Why would he step in to help rescue innocents for a fire he started, — and risk being caught —when the purpose of the fire was only to get Kyle to show up so he could get a date.

Playing Hero only risks that plan, with all the YP against him alone.

His plan always required separating Kyle, from YP.

          • timemonkey

You’re not getting it, and I’m not going to argue,

        • Adam Black

It was way too close for that.
Sure they would rescue people, but the chance for people dying of smoke inhalation… that baby burning alive was too close for that

          • Chris Dangerfield

            sure… in YOUR AU.

          • Adam Black

So, are you giving the whole universe to me,
or just from here to the sun ?

            ( either way , I want Deeds )

          • Chris Dangerfield

If you’re not up to code you can’t get the paperwork… it’s just how it works.

          • Not really. He told Kyle he thought highly of his team and with the combination of abilities TYP has, it was a pretty good bet that they would get the job done.

          • Adam Black

Isnt that **exactly** what a psychopath would say ?
( no remorse, justifications, blaming other people for consequences )

          • What Duncan is, is a fascinating character in a fascinating story that’s neither black nor white. With that I’m bowing out.

          • Chris Dangerfield

I call MICE with vibranium umbrellas AGAIN!

          • Klaus

Consider how close he was to getting himself killed in Hong Kong.

          • Adam Black

            exactly

      • Adam Black

Still he set a fire and risked everyone’s lives, just to see kyle to get a date. It didnt matter that it was the means to an end ( other than thats often psychopathic logic )
It was a psychopathic means to end, and unnecessary one.

All it did was put him in Kyles presence.
He could have just got Police scanner and waited a day. Nope, Hey lets just set a baby on fire to make a fireman show up. For a date.
        Thats classic psychopath.

It was the Hong Kong shenanigans which earned Kyles trust, and it was where he pretended to show compassion by saving his fake ( hired ) enemies.

  • James Belnap

Well so much for “let us not squabble” then.

  • Spooky almost looks like he’s enjoying his nap.

    • Chris Dangerfield

Well Duncan did give him quite a punch (he was cranky) and Spooky did bounce a lot?

  • timemonkey

Pretty sure she’s testing him, and the test may genuinely involve killing the kids. He’s wavered in his dedication and she wants to see where he really stands now.

  • bandanajack

hmmm, what is duncan’s ace in the hole? or is he just bluffing?

    • timemonkey

Well, if he was really serious he could probably kill her before she could react, he’s got the speed and the strength for it. But he’s more likely to argue until she’s ready to make the first move, which eliminates any advantage he might have otherwise had.

      • Tyler Griffin

I still think that she’s unable to cast with that Dampener on. She’d have to disable it first, which kind then sets TYP free as well. SHe is still a formidable force without her magic, but Duncan has supers and she doesn’t

        • Chris Dangerfield

Except she seems to still be generating power after the dampener kills all the TYP powers (except Spooky who gets his clock knocked out pretty severely).

          http://webcomics.yaoi911.com/typ/ete-ch3-page-119/

          • Tyler Griffin

You know… At the time, I just assumed that was residual effects of her shielding herself before the dampner kicked in, but I think you’re right. Everyone else’s effects ended immediately, no phasing or fading out, just Off. So I’ll concede this point. She probably can still cast.

      • Klaus

He needs her to repair the walls.

        • timemonkey

Anouther reason while he’ll argue until she strikes first.

      • Chris Dangerfield

That’s assuming she doesn’t KNOW that and hasn’t prepared for it. It’s not hard for me to imagine a standing spell that stops him from connecting with her physically.

She sure has shown she is NOT dumb.

    • Chris Dangerfield

Now THERE is the $1m question!

  • davefragments

I think there is an element of Sircea that is sociopathic and that she likes watching people suffer and die. She may stop the barrier from crumbling and send Laampros back to the hell dimension but then, she’s going to be the most powerful person in the world and I would be that she’d want to be worshipped as a goddess. I think this is her particular craziness from that last attempt to buttress the barriers.

    • Samurai Jack

Isn’t that the way of all gods/goddesses?

      • davefragments

There were other magicians in the world but they went bonkers trying to attempt that spell. I think she is really stark, staring crazy under that veneer of sanity. And I think her particular brand of crazy is enjoying pain and agony and death in others.

        • Samurai Jack

That’s exactly what I think, too. She claims not to be, but then she would, wouldn’t she?

          • Chris Dangerfield

Soooooooo… Sircea does NOT have a big screen TV? Sh*t…

        • Chris Dangerfield

Wait… you mean we aren’t supposed to feel that way normally.

Whoooooops… (did I say that in my out-loud voice?)

          • davefragments

That’s not the usual dinner conversation between friends.

          • Samurai Jack

No beer and no TV make Chris… something, something…

          • Adam Black

            You have an inside-voice ?
            ( I-did-not-know-that )

        • Klaus

Not just those who attemtpted the Grey Working. Also all who used magic since then. Even one. Except PP and Spooky. And we have our doubts about PP.

          • Adam Black

Wanna bet she was responsible for the Grey Working?

          • Klaus

            No bet.

        • Chris Dangerfield

See my earlier dissertation on “sociopathy & the 6,000 year old” … I’m not sure that empathy, pain, suffering and (particularly) death, mean the same things to her any more. Numb?

It’s just hard to imagine she “feels” those things the way we would. She may ‘feel’ plenty, just not what WE do.

Of course that’s must my musings and no sort of reality.

          • davefragments

She’s at the point where she treats mere people like I treat insects — a slight spritz of raid and not even a wave goodbye.

But she’s not going to enjoy killing one of TYP unless Duncan suffers. She’s using them to emasculate Duncan. That’s the sociopathy that I see — she wants to Duncan to be her puppy-dog and not a lover.

      • Adam Black

Youve met more Gods than I

        • Samurai Jack

I make new ones every day…

          • Chris Dangerfield

Well then STOP cluttering up our firmament with all these extraneous deities… (I knew someone was causing this issue).

          • Samurai Jack

On this point I side with Michael Moorcock:

“Gods and their examples are not needed by those who respect themselves and, consequently, respect others. Gods are for children, for little fearful people, for those who would have no responsibility to themselves or their fellows.”

          • Chris Dangerfield

Well if you are going to pull out Michael Moorcock (whose last name alone makes me happy), then Elric and I will bow down with respect to you and let it go!!! 😀

          • Samurai Jack

If I remember right that line was spoken by Man to Hawkmoon. But yeah, I think we’ve slain all the gods in this thread already. 😉

          • Chris Dangerfield

All that repeated resurrection is such a bitch.

          • Samurai Jack

Unlike the Platinum Priestess they were Eternal, not immortal. I was always more aligned with Hawkmoon and the Runestaff than Elric and Stormbringer… Although I’ve had my personal sword described as such…

          • Chris Dangerfield

            So why are you fussing?

Even an albino sword is pretty awesome if it’s “eternal” or “immortal.” I mean most swords have a refractory period. Still if the body attached is like dead-ish that’s not so attractive. But I give you full props for having an operational runestaff. Good job brother!

          • Samurai Jack

Am I fussing? Or just having fun?

I don’t have an albino anything. But I’ll show you my Runestaff if you show me yours.

          • Chris Dangerfield

            HA! Excellent!

          • Adam Black

You lose the Family Jewels , and stray so soon.
I wont tell hubby ( after you pay me off ) .
Damn Elric and that sexy sword of his.

          • Chris Dangerfield

He may have an albino sword, but I still had a bit ‘o ruff for old Elric. I mean you don’t get a hot last name like MelinBONE by accident.

          • Adam Black

Maybe gods dont need you to believe in them.

I dont need bacteria to believe in me. Its enough that I have to keep washing it off.

I always thought that was a ridiculous human-centric view.
If there are Gods , believing in them is probably meaningless. BUt the flipside might not be true.

          • Chris Dangerfield

I hate it when “IT” keeps trying to wash me off……..

          • Samurai Jack

Gods that no one believes in are just myths. Either they have the power to affect your behavior (Through their own actions, in which case you have proof that they exist) or through your belief in them and the fear that belief instills. (Because you believe they’ll take action, and change your own behavior accordingly to placate them)

Bacteria fall into the first category. We can see them, we have proof that they exist, and we can see their actions both for and against us. And in most cases we can also kill them stone cold dead.

So, what use are gods again?

          • Adam Black

“Platinum Priestess puts the Firm in Firmament’

I’m carving that on her Silver Throne. Now lick that boot, minion.

          • Chris Dangerfield

            HA!

    • Adam Black

      Isnt that always the case?

You meet this super-hot sex goddess ( or Goddie ), and turns out shes just this super clingy chic.

      • Chris Dangerfield

I agree with Sylibub. I suspect that when Sircea bores of you she just kills you and stuffs you in the basement until needed and then resurrects Zombie-Adam on an as-needed basis. 😀

    • Chris Dangerfield

I know we’ve discussed “sociopath” a lot over the years re the two of our villains, but I do think that 6,000 years warps the application of that diagnosis. Okay the following ‘assumes’ that Sircea is a special human and not someone like Laampros.

I do believe that a lot of OUR collective ‘reverence’ for life however we define it, is in that we see it as fleeting and limited in duration.

For the young ones reading, this becomes clearer post thirty. That’s when you slowly start seeing the generation before you age and pass.

So, Sircea has gone so far past this point that WE can’t really comprehend how she feels about life and death (IMHO). Everyone she knew has died and, for whatever reason, she continues on.

Longevity is often presented as a gift in fiction, but I always wonder.

They say that outliving one’s children and loved ones is truly a trial. Many older women manage it, while statistically many men don’t live more than a year after their wife passes.

I just say this in relation to 6,000 years. I can’t really imagine how Sircea perceives life in this time period and, I suspect, that even at his age Duncan can’t really either.

      It’s pretty interesting.

      • davefragments

I think that Sircea had reconciled to her long life but was tipped into this more psychopathic stage by the Grey Workings.

  • bandanajack

excellent point. as i often tell my young mentees when i have them, there is a reason shakespeare is still being staged. he was adept at capturing and portraying, in poetry, the panoply of human responses, and they are just as on point today as they were 400 years ago.

    • Chris Dangerfield

Now that is a stone truth!!!

  • Adam Black

    HOly shit.
    You are over 40!

I know you were um um aging gracefully but I had no idea. nowonder you identify with the Silver Sultress. Whats it like being so wise?

    • Chris Dangerfield

      Stinker… HA!

So soon you will know what “over 40” feels like… IF you’re lucky. 😀

      • Adam Black

        that high?
Are you going to take me for a ride in your old people mobility- balloon?
( Im kind of afraid of heights , sometimes )

        Do all wizendly-Muricans get them?

Did you have to apply at some government office to get you balloon?

is it just delivered via drone by the social security office?

or did you Sign up from some late night infomercial?

        • Chris Dangerfield

It’s a hard day when you realize a birthday is a triumph over nature. Of course, I’m incredibly wise and almost always right due to this fact of nature. Someday, I’ll be allowed to be irascible too! Such fun. 😀

  • Saxon_Brenton

Point of order. Annihilator’s pretty speech about the heroes being helpless and innocent is all well and good. However unless Team Silver has specifically tracked down, kidnapped and tied up a bunch of criminals for sacrificing in their transparent murder-box-of-doom, then it’s kind of a double-standard to be making that sort of distinction. And *that’s* assuming Annihilator has developed some sort of squeamishness about seeing people killed right in front of him, but that he can cheerfully ignore many millions of innocents being killed when Laampros and his horde of demonic underlings are summoned, no matter how briefly Team Silver intend to make the demon occupation.

On the evidence we have, I continue to presume that he’s up to something. I have no idea what, but his prevarications just don’t make sense to me on humanitarian grounds alone.

    • Samurai Jack

There’s still the prohibition against killing children. Which technically only applies to Mitch now, I guess. But he may be stretching that to all of them.

      • Cydney Sabin

It still applies to Paul, too. He’s only 17.

        • Klaus

He is almost 2 years older than Mitch, who has just turned 15. So he is most likely not quite 17. Especially since one of the themes of this story is that birthdays have power. We have seen what that power did to Spooky and to Kyle. I think there is a strong posibility that Paul is next.

        • Chris Dangerfield

See, I’ve never thought this ‘underage protective’ thing that Duncan told Kyle about is a real thing. The hell-date (as Klaus says below) had nothing to do with age or protecting young people. It was only that birthdays have power.

To the point. Sircea BLEW a 15 year old out of the sky with every intention that he would go splat. So, I think that is pretty much proof that being a minor is no REAL protection against a super vilain and what they want.

There is also a Spooky (text) back story that involves Sircea kidnapping children. It’s pretty clear that the whole underage bubble of protection was a lie to woo Kyle’s trust for the spell.

Just my observations. Not fun. But we all know that youth is no protection in real life either. You just can’t buy beer. DAMN!

    • Well as to the point of squeamishness of up close death and millions of people taken by the demon hordes. The demon hordes will be in Europe and so out of mind. It’s like the difference between being in the middle of a war and being on the other side of the ocean.

      • Chris Dangerfield

I call “Mice with vibranium umbrellas”!!!!

      • Saxon_Brenton

Yes. My point. Sorry, my habit of writing long, involuted sentences seems to have got he better of me.

        • That or my reading comprehension is taking a nose dive tonight.

        • Chris Dangerfield

Golly, I have no idea what you mean. That NEVER happens to me. 😀

    • Wildroses

It might be pure selfishness. Duncan against his will did get emotionally involved in Kyle. It could be all this stuff about sparing the innocent children is a smokescreen for Duncan liking Kyle enough that he doesn’t want to kill him or cause him pain by killing his friends.

It’s not what I personally believe, but I don’t think it should be ruled out or ignored, and it may well be part of his motivation. My take on Duncan is that he is ruled by the ends justify the means philosophy, and can see innocents killed if he believes it is for a greater purpose. Yes, the hostages and then millions of innocents must die which makes him sad, but he’s only doing it because he is a hero. Worse things will happen if he doesn’t. (That was Duncan’s viewpoint, not mine).

      • Klaus

        They are not hostages.

        • Chris Dangerfield

No they are not. They are just people who have annoyed Saxon in his weekly D&D group enough that they need to be ‘excused’ from play… 😀

      • Saxon_Brenton

While I can’t rule pure selfishness out either (because only Alex knows exactly what’s going on in Annihilator’s head, and Alex has put a lot of ambiguity into the character’s actions to keep we readers guessing), I do find it extremely unlikely that that’s the only thing that would be motivating him.

I may not particularly like Annihilator at them moment, but I will give him credit for having a functioning brain. We know that Annihilator knows what the stakes are. Therefore, arguing with his partner-in-crime and putting strains on their working relationship at this late point of the game puts their high stakes gamble at risk. As in, The Evil Overlord’s List levels of putting their plan at risk. (And as an aside, I would also add that thinking Commander is helpless simply because she doesn’t have her powers simply compounds the problem. Oh Annihilator, where is thy genre savyness?)

    • Tyler Griffin

I still like my proposal that the people in the box COULD be insane magic users that have been Bound by some means. I mean, what better way to blow holes in the wall of reality than to sacrifice magical blood to demons.. plus any would be heroes who try to save the sacrifices are in for a hell of a surprise.

      • Chris Dangerfield

Well if it makes you feel better when you have to tidy up all that blood and viscera splatter out of the box afterwards, then you go right ahead and believe that.

(honestly, get tyler out of his minion robe and he’s usually quiet sensible… heh.)

    • Klaus

On the other hand, that sacrifice is necessary to save the world, as Duncan admits in that panel where the victinms are revealed.

      • Chris Dangerfield

Yes, but that sounds so harsh. What about vitamins and eating right. Are enough people getting their roughage? Vitamin C? I mean before we go to the nuclear option.

  • Chris Dangerfield

The biggest point (at least to me) is that Sircea still “needs” Duncan in some fashion (maybe because of his tattoo from Laampros. I think she would have taken action by now (in some fashion) except she’s still manipulating events.

And that’s because Duncan has a role to play.

    • Saxon_Brenton

That’s a very good point. Which would in turn suggest that she not only needs him alive but also conscious/sane/non-lobotomized, otherwise she might start taking steps to improve his immediate utility.

      • Chris Dangerfield

Ermmmmm… you know Saxon the way you so blithely say, “…might start taking steps to improve his immediate utility.” Makes me think that being your BF might be a bit more challenging than I’d ever imagined.

        Oh dear. 😀

    • I’ve suspected from the beginning that Platinum Palpatine has manipulated everything so that the Duncanator takes the fall while she runs with the candy.

IF this is the case, then all this is just her staying amused while the clock is ticking. She needs to keep Duncan off-balance and distracted, not focusing too closely on what she or more likely, what her minions are doing. As always, I expect to be colossally wrong, but it is fun to speculate.

      • Chris Dangerfield

Interesting way to put it. I remember thinking he was a bit of a rube for letting her ‘negotiate’ with Laampros while HE takes the demon tattoo… errrr… hello?

  • Nate

OK, so the prevailing thesis is that Sircea is testing Duncan, right?

This may be true, but I wonder if something else is going on. For one, Kyle is awake, and Team Silver can SEE that. And also, it seems odd that Duncan would be so squeamish about Amanda who (unlike Kyle or Paul) is not only of legal age, but has been for a while.

Are they playing Kyle for some reason? Or, alternatively, is Duncan STALLING? Is he trying to get Kyle riled up, or waiting for Spooky to wake up? Heck, he started having doubts about the same time Amanda woke up… and her powers have no visual component.

A few thoughts at OhGod AM.

(Well over 40 here as well. 😉 )

  • Chris Dangerfield

Okay so the most interesting thing is that the glass box still hasn’t blown up (splatter city), Laampros and gang still haven’t arrived with bottles of wine and appropriate hostess gifts, the military is STILL nowhere to be seen (if I were Amanda, I’d have a firm talk with mom pronto) … so stuff it STILL NOT HAPPENING.

    Now I want another PAGE.

Alex this is like TYP crack (snort). Don’t make us beg. I don’t want to have Graphic Novel tracks down my arms when the cops pick me up in a bad neighborhood.

Off to bed before I commit illicit acts of comic desire. Where is THAT penis…? 😀

    • Tyler Griffin

Well, in all fairness, the last we saw the box, they had a 22 minute countdown, even after putting our heroes in the YMCA JustDance Generators. so they have time to continue this argument for quite a bit longer.

      • Chris Dangerfield

22 minutes? Translated into pages? Well that would just be cruel. Alex could never be that mean… Alex? Alex? Beuller? Beuller?

        • Cydney Sabin

On the other hand, there’s obviously been a tiny time skip, so we’re down a few minutes from there. I’m guessing more like ten minutes left, give or take.

          • Chris Dangerfield

            Wheeeeewwwww… (I’ll take it).

        • Samurai Jack

This Hour has 22 Minutes… You may need to be Canadian to understand, but trust me, it’s hilarious.

Oh wait, I’m not Canadian. At least not yet.

          • Chris Dangerfield

            Eh?

      • Chris Dangerfield

Welllllll… Alex is a time-lord after all. (Tardis anyone?)

    • Adam Black

Every possible answer and permuation seem to have terrible implications, but I must ask:
Who lost the Husband-penis , you or he?!
( someone else? Is it Myopia, dementia, blindness?
Disorientation? Do you need a map? Anatomy textbook ?

Quick how many fingers am I holding up? OK Now balls.
NO mine . No yours. No , thats the cats. )

@C@chrisdangerfield:disqus I know your are over 40. Its not your fault.
But this cant keep happening. I mean it can, but , look Im going to have to sacrifice my continuing-comedy for your well-being. It just doesnt feel right,

I got you cockfinders. You will never lose it again,
      https://www.thetrackr.com/

      • Chris Dangerfield

Silly man… someone (?) once said… “a loved weenie is never lost!” So, I was speaking metaphorically of needing to go find something to distract me from this awful page-waiting (and I did… so there).

My dude finds TYP, the comic that keeps on giving. He’s all for it, in many different ways. 😀

      • Chris Dangerfield

        OMG thank you.

“Help, I’ve fallen down and can’t find my husband’s weenie!

WITH ONE PUSH OF A BUTTON OUR 24/7 CALL CENTER WILL DISPATCH SOMEONE DIRECTLY TO YOUR HOME TO HELP YOU LOCATE…”

  • bronakopdin

goddammit I slept too less and have zero motivation to leave for work in only a few minutes…

I really wonder who will ultimately win this argument… atm it seems PP has the upper hand and Anni is just trying to act up to mommy…
She shouldn’t underestimate him either though… Really can’t think of how it’ll end… this is like several week-long cliffhanger now! gah!

but as tired as I am: dear Alex and Adam: where did the power locking platforms go our young young heroes floated on? 🙂 Do they have an invisible mode?

    • Chris Dangerfield

The alien tech is power saving. It’s set to go auto-invisible after so many minutes. They are SO far ahead of us. 🙂

  • Jeldenil

That staff has multiple purposes, huh. I wonder whether she got it at Supervillain Telsell.

    • Klaus

Useable for bo jutso, pole vaulting, broom riding, as a cultivator, hair comb, tooth pick, new years ornament, …

      • Samurai Jack

Now how much would you pay?

        • Chris Dangerfield

          Just 6 easy payments of…

      • Jeldenil

All that AND it’s easily tidied away under your bed???

        • Chris Dangerfield

Sure, until the dog gets a hold of it and blasts itself to smithereens… And there goes ANOTHER hell-hound. Awwww, how we miss old Zul.

      • Chris Dangerfield

IT’S THE THE NEW “MULTI-STAFF”. Good for slicing, dicing, blasting, slo-cooking and interdimensional sightseeing. GET YOURS TODAY!!!

  • Klaus

Suddenly the business end of the staff is flat. Compare http://webcomics.yaoi911.com/typ/ete-ch3-page-102/

  • Mir

Can they talk while they’re being held like that? I feel like if they can Kyle is gonna scream out.

    • Wildroses

I am leaning towards no for the same reason. Kyle really looks like someone who would like to unleash a torrent of verbal abuse. But maybe he is just keeping his mouth shut because he is aware it is not a good idea to piss off the only guy around who wants to keep you and your friends alive.

      • Chris Dangerfield

Actually, it would be really fun to see Kyle swear. He strikes me as the best friend type who swears really poorly and makes you laugh. “You! You! Bad, horrible man, you!”

    • Johndar

Either that or just power through it with his super hell powers.

      • Chris Dangerfield

I know don’t you wish that? Me too…

But I know that Alex isn’t done torturing us yet. So it can’t possibly be this easy. Darn talented authors. So stinky.

    • Chris Dangerfield

In a robust manly way… no stereotypes here! 🙂

  • somebody

Didn’t they call the special forces before they attacked them? What does them take so long??? And aren’t there some super manly adult heroes who can’t wait to save all of those cute guys and the pretty girl?
    Where is the backup???

Come on super manly adult heroes! We need you!

    • Toli Bera

backup travels at speed of plot. it’s probably only been 20 minutes of the 30 it’ll take to get them there.

      • Chris Dangerfield

        OMG… that is soooooo true.

    • Klaus

Amanda said that it would take them more than an hour to get there. That was about the same time the count down clock stood at 55 minutes. It now stands at 22 minutes. You do the math.

    • Marz

The adult super heroes are tied up with the Crisis of Colliding Trans-World Identities.

      • Chris Dangerfield

Which means that none of the adult (old and wrinkly) super heroes brought their ID’s with them and there was a massive confusion when they all checked in.

Thus the: “Crisis of Colliding Trans-World Identities”

Honestly it’s like checking in at the Hilton when there is a convention it town. It’s a zoo and no one can get anything done. Giant mess.

Oh no, I blame Gordon for the delay in calling the military. If he wasn’t being uptight and homophobic on that jet then the Commander could have attended to business faster and the military might have arrived on time.

(ok that’s total baloney, but I like having someone like Gordon to blame… yeah I’m a shit… sorry… not sorry.)

  • Michael

I’m glad to see Dunc at least has a modicum of decency left in him.

    • Chris Dangerfield

(*chris gets out the giant microscope to try and see it…*)

      • Michael

There is a probability of quantum decency particles existing somewhere in the vicinity of of the probability wave-function of Duncan.

        • Chris Dangerfield

(chris goes to make a request of the Hadron Collider… rofl)

    • Falconfly

That was never in question, considering what he actually wants. It was simply a matter of how far he’d go, and appearently that isn’t the case.

  • Pikinanou

Don’t you hate it, when your co-worker tries to prevent you from murdering people for fun?

    • Chris Dangerfield

YES! The key word though is “tries”. 🙂

  • Dennis Grace

I, FFS, Duncan, wake up and smell the psychopathy. The woman’s clearly a bloodthirsty whackadoo. Time to cut your losses, punch the psycho in the head, and get everyone out of there.

Give in to your “dark side,” Dunc—be a hero. You know you want it.

    • Adam Black

Duncan is an evil psychopath ‘n’ I will never forgive him, evah, for what he did to my boy.

That ship has sailed, sunk and been set on fire. demonfire. from Kyles penis. Nope. nevah.

      • Chris Dangerfield

Well, of course, I agree with all the heartfelt calls for Duncan’s redemption. It’s a tried and true fact that the male protagonist is allowed flaws and redemption. This is a feminist truth that certain Admiral’s taught me years ago.

It’s just that, I agree with you, that after that fact I want Big D. to die a horrible painful death for what he did to Kyle… and then that Kyle and Spooky get to go off and have that Cancun vacation together with tons of good gay lurve.

      • Falconfly

Not really. If he was a psychopath he’d allow Hlel to take over and be done with it.

He’s motivated primarily by what he believes to be in the interest of the world at last. Defnitely not psychopathic.

        • Chris Dangerfield

So, immortality and perfect health, not to mention supreme rulership of Northern America are no part of his generous and thoughtful motivations? Thank goodness… I was getting worried.

          • Klaus

PP’s plan is to get a lot of demons to earth in order to up the ambient power level. She will then use this power first to mend the walls, and the to banish the demons. That is what she has told Duncan, anyway, and I for one am convinced that he believes her. But would it be wise to say to Laampros: “We will open a gate for you. No strings attached.”? It would look for the hidden motive. Better to make a plausible deal. As for the Americas, the deal will spare them demonic invasion, which surely is a good thing.

If you reread Duncan’s parting words to Kyle back in chapter 2, you will see that he is trying very hard to convince himself that he is doing this for purely selfish reasons. His agument with PP in chapter 3 shows that he did not succeed.

          • Chris Dangerfield

Agreed and, as I said I did re-read before this chapter just to both enjoy good art and remind myself of ‘things’…. yowza that Monologue still grates even after all this time. The readers around the first time surely remember me melting down (trigger-ville). However it was much easier for me to enjoy the artistry of a good scene this time. All that said — someone recently taught me the German word “Backpfeifengesicht” … I was told it was the German compound word for a ‘face that should be slapped’ — and shi*t I still really wanted to severely slap that Duncan face.

There is a point where whiny guilt and conflict matter so much less than what you allow to happen in life and with Mr. Wells, I’m so THERE.

Thanks for the rationale Klaus, I think with Duncan it may be wasted on me. Heh………..

          • Chris Dangerfield

Simply put, why would Sircea choose Laampros when she could have @syllibub:disqus … I realize Syllibub has smaller horns, but honestly she’ll be better for Sircea, no doubt.

          • Falconfly

All of those would amount to nothing since he was planning to saboutage the deal.

  • Hours Left

Commander the “weakest”? I think Duncan is just trying to dissuade Sircea here, but that’s another odd comment. This whole conversation between the two of them over the last few panels has been very interesting, like they’re dancing on the surface of something.

    • Chris Dangerfield

      Thin ice?

      • Hours Left

Yeah, and one (or both) of them is gonna fall through. I think this partnership is heading towards a split, and a messy one at that.

  • Justin White

she’s making i had to not want to call her the “B” word

    • Megan Staples

I’m a chick, I can say it with regrets: She’s a cold bitch. Yep.

      • Megan Staples

um… NO regrets, that is. I hate dropping words.

      • Justin White

        agreed

  • davefragments

The American Hogwarts is ilvermorny …
Yes, that begins with an “i” and the second letter is “L” but not caps.

    • Nate

The fact that it sounds vaguely like “I love Hermione” is almost certainly a coincidence. 😀

      • davefragments

That’s interesting. That makes more sense when I consider Harry Potter.
I really did wonder because I worked at a national laboratory and I read it as liver-more-knee after Lawrence Livermore Lab in Ca.
(And no, that wasn’t my lab.)

        • Chris Dangerfield

I think maybe i lost the plot when I read livermorny and all I could think of is how much I hate liver… and then the rest just sounded like the adults in the Peanuts cartood. “bwaaaaa bwa bwa bwaaaaa.”

          • davefragments

            iL-ver-mor-ney

            not “liver”

          • Chris Dangerfield

So, basically money you get from illegally selling livers on the black market? That sounds both evil and disgusting. I may have to write a letter to JKR… (heeeeeeeee)…

          • davefragments

eeeew liver. I hate that stuff. I wouldn’t even play street hockey with overcooked liver. My onions weep when their told of dinner with it. yuck, yuck, yuck…

          • Chris Dangerfield

And in an instant my faith in DFrag is restored. (Liver IS Evil).

      • ill – ver – morn – ee

  • Megan Staples

    Smack her, Duncan! She ain’t a woman, she’s a panting bitch-dog!

    • Chris Dangerfield

Emr…. so as a man… I’m just asking… so we get to decide when one is one and the other is the other? Or is that only in the comics?

AJ put away that rolled up newspaper!

I think I’ll just choose answer #C (they say trick multiple questions are mostly always “C”.)

But if one of the answers is, ‘Smack her’ then I’ll go with “E — All of the above.” Ha.

      • Megan Staples

        Thanks. 🙂

  • Megan Staples

Not that it’s acceptable to hurt animals… maan, what are the right words here…

  • Danul Patterson

Old Silver Head my have a point about our resident Telepath. After all, she did devise a near perfect plan to stop them (and is more that likely forming a few others as the dastardly duo speaks, assuming that the dampeners they’re confined in isn’t inhibiting her ability to from rational thoughts.)

The question that begs to be asked is how will PP’s killing Mandy affect our petit daemon? Will it be the smoldering cave that leads to the Typhonian battle betwixt our hell boy and old silver head, and if so, which is the greater of the two: arcanus magicalis or pyro-kinetics? (It’s no small kept secret that I hold with those whom favor fire.) (But, I do have to admit, the old silver is a tough bird. Most of the advanced magicks users have gone off the deep end and she still has her head about her, so she might make a good go at it, when this battle happens.)

    • Chris Dangerfield

You don’t mention the very real possibility that Kyle will suddenly discover he’s bi-sexual and that he has a very definite yen for older women. Thus, he and Sircea go off to have some seriously ograsmic 6K year old sex. Sircea is ‘filled’ with an inner fire that warms her cold cold heart and the world changes yet again for the better.

(chris once again looks about to see if anyone buys this theory… erm… not so much it seems. snort)

Little does Kyle know that Sircea did all this to make Daddy Laampros furiously jealous, since he was the one who jilted her 5,500 years ago and she still has an issue.

      Can anyone spell sequel?

      • Danul Patterson

I smell spin off; Young Protectors: Days of Future Past where Mandy sends the Spookster back in time to prevent Red Hot from going evil because of that. lolz.

        • Chris Dangerfield

It’s moments like this when you have to accept how old Arnold really is……… 😀

          • Danul Patterson

Did you just make a Diff’rent Strokes joke? lolz.

          • Chris Dangerfield

HA! Actually it was a Terminator joke. Almost as bad.

          • Danul Patterson

That was going to be my next guess. XD

I came back to enjoy the second panel. Sassy pose! Still don’t understand the mechanics of the metal underwear.

    • Chris Dangerfield

“Mechanics” — you make it sound so multifunctional. Not just protective, cut multi-purpose. (being the incredibly dignified gay man I am, I shall NOT attempt to identify the armor’s other (obviously desirable) features… 😀

I mean, metal’s pretty shiny. Definitely highlights certain, uh (don’t say assets, self, don’t do it)…qualities.

But seriously — viewed from the back, the way she’s standing with her weight on one hip really emphasizes that the outfit has to somehow flex and move with her, otherwise she wouldn’t be able to do much other than stand up straight. I wonder if the whole thing is even metal? Could be some kind of futuristic material that’s supposed to imitate metal while behaving like fabric. Could be magic. I don’t know why my brain keeps circling back to this, since it obviously functions fine and so it doesn’t actually matter. God.

        • Chris Dangerfield

“I don’t know why my brain keeps circling back to this,”
Gad I don’t know how many times I’ve said that. 🙂

        • T Dibbler

It could just be shiny fabric? I’ve seen shiny, silvery fabric before, although it didn’t hold shape as well as that appears to.

And now you have me analysing her butt, which is not what I expected to be doing today.

          • Klaus

When did you plan to do that, if not today?

          • T Dibbler

But seriously — viewed from the back, the way she’s standing with her weight on one hip really emphasizes that the outfit has to somehow flex and move with her, otherwise she wouldn’t be able to do much other than stand up straight. I wonder if the whole thing is even metal? Could be some kind of futuristic material that’s supposed to imitate metal while behaving like fabric. Could be magic. I don’t know why my brain keeps circling back to this, since it obviously functions fine and so it doesn’t actually matter. God.

God.

Protects like fine linen, leaves you free to move like solid steel.

  • Jason Moon

I think that we’re about to see why The Commander is such a threat: She can manipulate the two of them(Y’know, using something like the Captain Kirk trick of talking the computer to death).

  • Earl Patterson

    kill her! kill her!

    • Chris Dangerfield

Awwwww… what did Amanda ever do to you? HEY! Wait, you’re that guy she had the bad date with in the 9th grade. Awww come on. Your mind was a swamp. It’s not your fault (hello puberty) and she could read it. We were all there once.

Let’s be honest I’ve found a lot less mind reading gay men than women. I just went the direction I felt safest,,,,,,,,,,,

(again chris looks around to see if anyone is buying this baloney.)

      • Saxon_Brenton

[Saxon gives Chris the side-eye] Chris, are you retconning in extraneous contnuity?

        • Chris Dangerfield

[chris looks innocent (major effort):] What could you possibly mean?

    • Klaus

Please do. But not until she has rebuild the walls, or revealed that she does not intent to.

  • ChibE

I can hear the captives in the background chanting, “Fight, fight, fight!”

    • Chris Dangerfield

No they all have duct tape on their mouths… Alex didn’t want to write that bit.

    • Earl Patterson

      Fight, fight, fight!

  • T Dibbler

Oooh, she’s got a good point there, this will be interesting.

Also, I love Kyle’s little pissed off face. I was sympathising with him before, and it would be weird indeed if he didn’t look super pissed off still, but for some reason I’m finding it funny today.

  • Starfighter has updated and Deimos is just too cute in that last panel. http://starfightercomic.com/chapter_04_comments.php?page=Chapter_04_Page_60.jpg

    • somebody

      thanks dude!

    • Kitkat822

Oh my goodness I haven’t read starfighter in years! I need to catch up!

  • To those (incl. me) who wondered about the missing pods and wires in panel 3, I got an answer from Alex.

The layer of panel 3 that the pods were drawn on accidently went missing before the page reached Vero, but the correct version has been sent to her, so it will be edited when she has the right panel colored.

(Should you be thinking ‘layer?’, it’s how most artists draw digitally. A drawing is devided into many layers where there’s drawn/added new things to the art on each layer. Means that if something is done wrong, or is decided to remove again, then the artist doesn’t need to spend too much time on doing it – or possibly having to toss a whole panel to correct something. That one layer can be removed or corrected without ruining the rest)

    • Saxon_Brenton

Interestingly, the penciled artwork emailed out to the patreon backers also lacks the pods.

      • It’s the version that made it to Alex/Vero first hand. Guess the missing pods were overlooked until we started asking, since it made it as far as being colored 🙂

  • Danul Patterson

Who wants to be the one to tell old silver head that Metallics are très démodé, that it has gone south fast than Milli Vanilli’s music career?
And while you’re at it, can you remind The Annihilator that just because his diamond cutting hard steel rod is hot for the boy doesn’t mean he wants you back, not after you used him and tossed him to the curb like yesterdays flaming rubbish.

And suddenly, I sympathize with Sircea. DAAANG, lady, I thought I was alone in thinking “You seem to operate under the misconception that I care about your opinion. I don’t”. Oh Duncan. You are such a nice bad guy, I don’t want to see you hurt.

  • Shiny Gwilly

I HAVE SOME INTERNET BACK, my internet has been out for almost a week
    ANYWAY, caught up now
Anni does seem to think he’s in charge here in some way, when clearly this is a TEAM effort….but even then, PP is more in charge than he is
but he is still needed for the ritual or at least needs to be there, so he has that on his side…hopefully
PP is smart though, real smart

  • Malachi

Wow OUT magazine articlw featured this amazing comic, can’t help it but feel so proud. Hope this comic and you guys who work on it really get your much deserved recognition.
    http://www.out.com/popnography/2016/1/27/gay-superhero-graphic-novel-raised-133k-available-pre-order

    • Thank you, Malachi! It was awesome to have them give us that mention. 🙂

  • Diviana

Do you think She Hulk or Deadpool will help as break the fourth wall so we can punch PP?

    • T Dibbler

Do not punch your computer (or tablet or phone or other device), that will not end well for you.

      • Chris Dangerfield

This is a truth. I’ve been known to get overexcited at times and punching electronics, no matter how much deserved, never ends well. 🙂

        • Michael

I unintentionally* left a hole in the drywall of one of my former workplaces once. We covered it up with a safety poster.

          * truthfully. I slapped the wall with an open palm expecting to make a satisfying ‘boom’, on a part of the wall that In knew was well supported by struts and timber framing, and my palm just went right through to everyone’s shock including my own. The one weak spot on the wall within hand-striking range, because it was right between two timber horizontals connecting the two uprights. An inch higher or lower and I would have hit the wood and the plasterboard would have held up.

          • Chris Dangerfield

Nope. That’s your super powers manifesting. Like Cory, soon you’ll go fugue and wreak total destruction on your work place. I hope I’m at lunch. 😀

          • Michael

I left that place long ago, and my Fury Rage superpower is firmly in check. 🙂

  • Amanda

Loving this. Great art great story.

  • Is it too early to start the count down to the new page?? O.O

  • Chris Dangerfield

    NEVAH too early!!!!!

  • *sigh* Because my brother is lazy, I had to walk my nephew back home on my bad ankle/foot. When I first noticed a problem it was just swelling. The next day there was some pain in the ankle area. So I have no idea what is going on with it, but it is now just a little ache-y.

    • Michael

That doesn’t sound good! I hope it gets better, Doki!

    • stickfigurefairytales

      Oh no, poor Doki!

  • Michael

Hi all, hope I’m on time for camping! What’s been happening with everyone?

I’ve spent much of the last week painting and waiting for advice on painting.

In big news, I’m now officially a student again, my Orientation Day is tomorrow and my course (diploma of library & Information Services) begins next week! 😀

    • stickfigurefairytales

Hell yeah, library and information services!

      • Michael

        Yeah! *fistbump* *secret librarian handshake*

      • Michael

rawr. Now I’ll have to eat you to protect our secrets.

You wouldn’t happen to be a princess, would you?

        • Mostly I’m an Admiral.

          • Michael

Boo. Nothing is quite as tender and flavoursome as a nice, juicy princess. Or a virgin, but they tend to be a bit gamey for my taste.

          • Ha! I’ve been called an Empress

    • Congratz and good luck. That was the education I sadly didn’t get to finish ( financial situation forced me to drop out 6 month before finishing my BA -_-)

      • Michael

🙁 Did you get credit for the work you’d done, though? Have you ever thought of going back and getting RPL to finish it?

        • Doesn’t work the same way here, and financially I can’t afford going back.

  • stickfigurefairytales

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to stay for camping tonight, as I can feel myself getting sick and I want to try to get as much rest as I can. Have fun though, guys! Make sure PP doesn’t kill Amanda!!

    • Feel better soon stick!

      • stickfigurefairytales

        Thanks, Doki love!

    • Michael

      Get well soon, sticky!

      • stickfigurefairytales

        Thank you, Michael!

    • Feel better, Sticky!

  • davefragments

    How is it going tonight

    • Not too bad. Though I’ll be weird and say I’m annoyed at the yarn I bought. It’s not only too thin for what I want to do, it tangles like nobodies business. I spent like three hours last night trying to detangle 220 yards of it.

      • davefragments

I once did some yarn needlepoint. I don’t do it now. Can’t knit. My Hands are too strong and un-gentle.

        • I never did pick up knitting, but crochet seems to be something my brain can decipher.

          • davefragments

I can’t even figure out crochet. I can sew buttons and seams but that’s about it anymore.

          • Youtube!! That’s where I learned. 😀

  • davefragments

Let’s see. I spent the past two days on a political binge because of the caucus. I also finished a short story. I haven’t thought about where to submit it…
And I haven’t had time to speculate on what Sircea is going to do next.
How is she going to stick it to Duncan or is she going to back down and let everyone off the hook?

    • syllibub

I hope she lays off the murder talk for a bit, even if it’s only to keep Duncan cooperative. It looks like she must need him around for a while longer, at least until Laampros arrives, or she probably would have just killed the team instead of waiting while Duncan hooked them up to the power-drainer.

      • davefragments

Laampros referred to her as Duncan’s “sow.” I wonder if Duncan told her all about that little bit of conversation.

        • syllibub

Hard to say if he filled her in on all the particulars…although Sircea must have been in communication with Laampros before, at least through intermediaries, so I figure she knows about Laampros’s contempt for humans in general. As for the “sow” comment, well, she’s apparently planning on killing Laampros anyway. Being insulted first will probably just make it more enjoyable.

          • Have you two had this convo before (or have you, Dave, made that comment before about the sow, and gotten nearly the same reply)?

I could have sworn that I’ve seen you have this convo before o.0
Am I having one of my countless deja vu moments, because I’ve dreamt small glimts again? xD

          • syllibub

It’s been a long time and a lot of comments since that page, so we might have! Ha.

          • No, I meant within the last couple of pages. *lol* Seems I got my answer. I love my deja vu moments, but they also puzzle me when they happen. I rarely remember anything until it hits me that I’ve seen/read/heard/done this before, and it’s just weird small parts of things.

          • davefragments
  • davefragments

    Rats. I just spilled pretzel and salt crumbs on my bed. {censored}

Where’s Laampros’ carvings of the deal on Duncan’s right forearm? It hasn’t been long enough to heal those marks and he’s not wearing anything over it…

    • syllibub

I think now they’re only visible under some kind of magical influence — when Sircea grabbed his arm during their pre-battle argument, the mark glowed, but otherwise it’s hidden.

      • davefragments

It’s supposed to suck the life out of Duncan if he double crosses Laampros.

        • syllibub

Presumably it would be visible while that happened!

          • davefragments

            I can work with that.

      • Chris Dangerfield

Sircea could make zillions with a new tattoo business where the bearer could choose to make their tats visible or not, depending on the occasion. I can see it now, Platinum International, one of the biggest multinational corporations in the world.

In 2016 there is more than one way to be a goddess!

  • *yawns* Good morning, on this early and stormy Danish morning.

An exciting day ahead with an examination of my hand/arm by an orthopedic doctor. Hope for some possitive news. Now for my morning to start with a page, and that’s definitely a good start (no matter the horror on page).

    • davefragments

      Hi Danish

    • syllibub

Hey! I hope all goes well at the doctor today.

    • Morning Ms. Wolf

    • Michael

Hello! Good luck with the doctor! I hope it isn’t anything serious.

      • Thank you. That’s the message I hope to get.

        • Michael

Hope so! My friend just got the best news ever, her incurable condition has been completely cured! Because it wasn’t on her file, the doctor insisted she didn’t have the disease! It’s a miracle!

          • Big congratz there. Miracle indeed, yes 😉

          • Michael

(I think you may have missed the sarcasm of her incurable condition being cured by way of paperwork error, or I have missed the sarcasm in your reply)

Also she didn’t have a fever, because he could tell by looking at her. >_>

Except she did, which was verified by, y’know, taking her temperature.

          • Some doctors are just living miracle makers with an x-ray vision. Why would they need to do an examination?

          • Michael

or accept the patient’s explanation of their symptoms?

    • Morning Danish!

  • davefragments

There is a MAP OF EVERY CITY online. You can find all of your neighborhoods somewhere on this map:

    https://medium.com/@chazhutton/drawing-the-map-of-every-city-f4b4ea7fa58f#.wn5m7sw9w

    • Michael

By the author’s own confession, this was based on a mix of London and Melbourne.

As a Melbournian, I can say that this is 100% accurate.

      • davefragments

IF you turn the map where the current top is bottom, then I’m neighborhood 12. My Brother lives in area 13. A nephew lives in area 9. It’s so true, so true.
And we have that highway and several iconic bridges.

  • Michael

Is anyone here a fan of Dominic Deegan? Have you heard that next week begins the Year of Fire Monkey? 😀

    • davefragments

No. I don’t usually pay attention to Chinese New Year.

    • Yay for monkeys! I’m a Metal Monkey -with a monkey ascendant. Maybe that explain why I’m so ever curious of everything 😉

Edit. I’m also a scorpio which list that same trait – a desire for knowledge and wanting to know. Really can’t escape it *lol*

      • Michael

I’m a Yang Earth dragon, myself, but I am also Monkey internally, but truly Tiger, so I don’t even know how all that fits together. I’m not going to tell you my secret animal 😛

  • Sapfo

    Good morning, good people ^^

    • davefragments

      Hi there

    • Morning Sapfo sweet!

    • Morning, Ms. Strawberry

    • Morning berry. Ready to see where the zombie plant have ended up today? Maybe plant is still in the corner, the place you shouldn’t put it 😉

      • Sapfo

Ah the mystery/horror of the dead plant that should not be moving around on it´s own. I do still belive that it is a zombie, and I think it is moving towards my office. I think that would be the true horror if I open the door to my office and it´s sitting there in my chair! =0
But most likely it is either in the corner like yesterday, or it is gone. And if it´s gone, will it come back and haunt us like a ghostplant?

  • Doki is going to bed, have to wake up Grandmother for her appointment in the morning. Have to get her medicated and fed too.

    • davefragments

      good night

    • Sapfo

      good night Doki, sweet dreams

    • Good night, sleep well!

    • Good night.

  • davefragments

I just heard the local weather — It’s the last minutes of February 2nd, Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow. It’s 46F outside (that’s warm for February) and the temperature will rise to 59F tomorrow, with rain. Eventually, Thursday night temperature will fall to 23F…

    • We’re looking at 70’s next week. But the last couple of days have been 50 or below.

      • davefragments

February is usually below 32F and snowy. My snow tires are in the trunk of my car unused and needed. It’s never in the 60’s in February.

  • Now that Disqus works properly, new page is up http://webcomics.yaoi911.com/typ/ete-ch4-page-6/

  • D. G.

Interesting. I knew Duncan would turn on Sircea.
