eep.

These are work-in-progress colors from Vero. She’ll get me the final colors later tonight.

Patrons were already getting a sexy, safe-for-work digital pin-up of Hunter and Killer this month. Now, they’re also getting a fully nude version as well!

AMW_Comics_TYP_ETE-Romance-Card-HUNTER&KILLER-NSFW_400

Exactly how far down do those robotics go, anyway?

$5+ Patrons pledging in April get to download the full image of the SFW version on Patreon immediately and will then get sent the fully nude version of this pin-up as well once their payments clear at the beginning of next month. $10+ Patrons will get sent a high-res version of both images with over double the resolution! If you like what you see here, it’s still not too late to pledge for April and get both goodies!

There are lots of great benefits to being a Patron (you can see them all here along with an explanation of what the heck Patreon is), and you’d really be helping me out if you became one too. If you’re enjoying our work here and would like to see it continue (and would like to get access to all kinds of special benefits),

please take a moment to watch the video on my Patreon page and consider becoming a Patron.

So! Looks like Fluke has attracted the attention of Spooky’s demon-snakes! Is this good luck or bad luck?

Tune in this Wednesday to find out! Hope to see you there! 😀

  • Eek

    • Stephen Hutchison

No, those are definitely not ducks.

  • davefragments

Love those demons, Just love them!

    • Chris Dangerfield

You are that kinda DFrag demon loving dude. It’s kinda why we all love you. You don’t discriminate. 😀

      • davefragments

Remember “The Curse of Rain Falls” … who was the hero?

        • Chris Dangerfield

          Point!

  • SNAKE GUY!!

    • Chris Dangerfield

The reptile dude. I told you he opens an Iguana store in Arizona complete with terrariums and all the fixins’

      • stickfigurefairytales

Nah, I’m betting he becomes a professional mongoose breeder after all this is over. Assuming he survives.

        • Chris Dangerfield

Okay… that IS good. I’m with you on this career change. 😀

  • I wonder if the demon snakes are going to bite someone in the ass.

    • Chris Dangerfield

      I live in hope!

      • Well I hope it’s not one of our heroes ass’s

        • Chris Dangerfield

          There is that.

    • I hope it’s not the bottles attracting them, in the bad way. Fluke is better without being wrapped up.

      • It might be a bottle of their buddies?

        • In that case, I hope he throws the bottles. We don’t need any demon-snakes on a ‘rescue mission’ against Paul.

      • Chris Dangerfield

I told Alex that Fluke has the kissiest lips in comics… therefore he can’t be defeated…….. well it’s a fact. Look at the last few pages. I feel all smoochy. 😀

  • Chris Dangerfield

    Super deluxe snake YUM!

  • Snakes! Demon snakes on a minion!

I hope they’re liking minions so much that they’re going to collect more. Shane has had them all to himself for long enough. I’m sure he agrees.. though them leaving him has him looked a bit surprised and baffled.

    • Chris Dangerfield

I wish there was one big enough to ingest him whole… eeeeeeeeeeee…..

      • Maybe there’s a dragon in one of Fluke’s bottles.

        • Chris Dangerfield

          Yup. Dragons are Yum.

        • syllibub

Maybe their snake mom is in one of the bottles!

          • Chris Dangerfield

            Nothing like a mother’s … errrrrrrr … love?

  • Chris Dangerfield

Why are Vero’s “work-in-progress” colors better than any colors I can think of anyway. Damn my limited artistic talent. (snerk).

  • D. G.

So flukes good luck may make the snakes turn on the four henchmen?

    • davefragments

Gives new meaning to the words “Cry, Havoc, and let slip the dogs of war.”

      • Chris Dangerfield

        Snakes of war?

    • Chris Dangerfield

      I like that luck!

    • That he’s up against 4 by himself is bad luck, right? So I think it’s fair that snakes should even out his odds.

  • Sapfo

Baby demon snakes! Mom, can I get one! I take such good care of it! ^^

    • davefragments

      It won’t eat much!

      • Sapfo

See! This is why I should get one!

        • And they don’t appear to have any fur!

          • Chris Dangerfield

So clean and tidy! Just a skin shed every so often…….

          • No allergens

          • Sapfo

            OH! That part I love!

          • They make perfect berry pets!

          • Chris Dangerfield

I think we need a crochet demon snake… Golly if there was just such a talented hooker around with a twisted sense of humor… Hmmmmmm I wonder where we’d find HER! 🙂

          • Sapfo

            I do wonder….. Muahahaha >:D

          • Chris Dangerfield

            Love that!

          • Other than the body bits they don’t consume.

          • Chris Dangerfield

Yup… always the cleanup factor! 🙂

    • Chris Dangerfield

And I will feed him and pet him and love him and name him Fred!

      • Sapfo

But I already have a demon spider called Fred 😉

        • Chris Dangerfield

Okay, no worries. How about “Howard?”

        • *Looks at snakes* The demon snake fits the name Ginger better anyway 😉

          • Chris Dangerfield

Ginger Rodgers was all about her fab legs… that seems rather contrary to snakes? 😀

          • But it’s an orange demon-y being. What to call it? The name Red Hot is already taken :-p

(And one of them might be a leg liking snake)

          • bronakopdin

I like Ronald, Ron for short ^^

          • Perfect! One of them must be named that 🙂

          • Klaus

Run run run, Ron. Run run, Ron.

          • Well if one has a demon spider named Fred, surely one of the demon snakes is his brother George?

          • But we already have a George.

          • How about Charlie? Charlie played with dragons.

          • How about Pete. 😀

          • Well, everyone seemed to be sticking to Weasley names…

          • Is that what everyone was doing? Well I’ve always been a rebel. 🙂

  • Chris Dangerfield

Thank you Alex, Adam and Vero!

Once again it’s a page filled with excitement drama and color. I know that in the context of the Graphic Novel it’s going to excite the turn-of-the-page exactly as you intend. The expression on our snake-dude’s face in Panel #1 is perfect and boy can I relate (I’m butch, but not that butch… thank goodness it’s not spiders). Then the stand off with Fluke and the expressions as the snakes attack. Excellently creepy. Great great stuff. Bravo(a).

Once again the week ends better for your combined efforts. Thanks for never letting the quality drop, regardless of pressures of shipping, two pages a week and all those pesky “cons” that keep you traveling. So very much appreciated.

    • I had a spider crawling on me yesterday D:
Not a big one, but more than big enough for me. It got to test if it could fly

      • bronakopdin

awww poor you… even though I don’t have a problem with them I don’t exactly like them running on me either -.-‘

        • I’m phobic, but luckily ‘only’ to the limit that I (mostly) don’t mind seeing them on pics or tv, or behind glass, but having them around me = nope, nope, nope! Absolutely hate the fast hunting spiders.

I can now accept cellar spiders my apartment, to a degree, if they stay out way out of my way, because they will help keep other spiders away. Spiders usually get to meet the swapper though.
(I have more than one episode where I must have looked rediculess while trying to smack one while staying out of reeach, especially not risking they run to/under my feet xD )

          • bronakopdin

            xD
Well I can only say the ones here aren’t that crazy big as I have seen in pictures on the net (and not the tarantulas or sth, really just house spiders) the biggest one I once set free was like maybe 5cm including their leg range. I do mean those with big bodies though, not the very thin ones with quite long legs
I always keep one or two in my room in summer to get rid of mosquitos though xD

    • bronakopdin

reading this or other comments where people talk about their arachnophobia, I’m always happy I don’t have any troubles with spiders x’D it must be very stressing… I’m always the one called to “get them out or kill them” >_>’

      • Chris Dangerfield

That’s my Dude’s job. I do tech fixing and rodents. He does spiders. Eh, it’s a relationship. That’s how the important stuff works. LOL!

  • Snakes: MORE ROBES! I want my own!

That’s what I hope, and not that the bottles are working as beakons for who’s next. Aww, I’m starting to feel sorry for Shane in panel one.

    • Chris Dangerfield

Please…. we know you have a spooky robe or two in your closet! 😀

      • <..>

No comments *checks to see if closet doors are closed*

    • bronakopdin

their robes… I wanna know whether Sircea bribed a former Choir or sth…

  • There’s a snake in my… that’s not a boot, is it? 😉 Although not any I’ve ever seen or WANT to see…

  • Chris Dangerfield

Is that a snake in your robe or are you just happy to see me?

    (sorry. not sorry)

    • Bahaha.. I was just about to write something like it, about more than one snake hiding in those robes.
      Yours is much better.

      • Chris Dangerfield

It was cheap, but I couldn’t help it. 😀

    • syllibub

With a line like that, it’s definitely going to be snakes.

      • Chris Dangerfield

It’s so unfair that that is so often true. Makes dating so uncomfortable……..

        • syllibub

Especially if you like to break the ice with cheesy lines. I can only bring so many snakes into my house before I start getting complaints.

          • Chris Dangerfield

So understandable. Plus I’d imagine you get no encouragement for having one or two in your pocket….. I mean all things considered.

    • Tyler Griffin

I have had it with these *bleeeeeeeeep* snakes on these *bleeeeeeeeeeep* minions! (sorry, not sorry, either)

  • SofiaT

Is that the “very small” computer-eating demon by any chance?

    • Sapfo

      is there not always? 😉

    • The very small demon plus a few siblings. 😀

Never mind. You meant what was in the bottle. *is embarrassed*

      • SofiaT

No, actually, I meant the snake one. I count it as one demon with many heads, Hydra-style (the mythological Hydra, not the Marvel one).

        • Considering the Marvel one is just a big ol’ octopus… -_-

Well, then I shall not be embarrassed. 😀

          • Chris Dangerfield

With Demons it’s all possible, so embarrassment it never necessary (where is that flying snowman when I need him?). You GO Admiral J.

          • It is bothersome. They call themselves Hydra and yet they have an octopus for a symbol. Even more bothersome is that they say: cut off one head and two will take its place. Um… the octopus has one head. You mean a leg, yeah?

          • Chris Dangerfield

And that’s ignoring suction cups all over the place… 😛 I totally agree.

  • Cman65

Red and yellow make orange, and orange makes snakes happy

  • Chris Dangerfield

Okay snake drool in panel #1 gets extra points for venomous creepiness… Yikes.

    • bronakopdin

I was totally thinking the same yikes

  • SofiaT

I wonder if Fluke attracting the demon-snakes’ attention is Good or Bad luck.
I hope he hasn’t gone through his good-luck stash already!

    • Maybe he stocked up a little again, since his odds are 1-4 here.

  • Mir

    Bad luck; they’re attacking fluke
Good luck; they’re attacking the henchmen

    • I want next pages and the answer to that ASAP.

  • I suppose one those bottles could be the snake demon’s ride home.

    • I now instantly got an inner image of the snakes riding on a dragon .. o_O ..uuh.

  • syllibub

Wow, those snakes are slobbery. It looks like it’s something about the bottled spells that attracted them — whether that’s good or bad for Fluke will have to be answered on the next page. *bites knuckle*

    • Chris Dangerfield

SNAKES! You can’t live with ’em and …….. well they’re just slobbery in a venomous sort of way (hmmmmm I can’t get to the good part with this thought).

      • bronakopdin

so that is why noone can live with me :O
        (Chinese Zodiac: snake x’D)

        • Chris Dangerfield

Maybe it’s that you like to hug Minions so tightly? 😀

          • bronakopdin

indeed that might be the reason :p

          • Chris Dangerfield

Orrrrrr it could just be a really cute minion? So many possibilities? 😀

  • davefragments

Maybe the words “Back off” triggered the snakes to do something more than just holdout snake boy?

  • Chris Dangerfield

Don’t you just know that the absence of Duncan and Sircea just now means they are totally focussed on getting that portal opened — and once Laampros arrives all this snaky stuff won’t matter quite so much — or at least in the same way?

I mean snakes & minions vs. Laampros and the fury of hell’s masses. I’m a weensy bit concerned about what’s happening off-screen.

Is it ‘next’ page day YET? Eeeeeeeeeeeeep!

    • syllibub

Now we all have to white-knuckle it until Tuesday. Rrrgh!

      • Chris Dangerfield

See YOU understand. Sircea is not lounging about just now. It’s not going to be pretty… ARG.

      • The longer wait.

        • That extra day is teasing us.

          • I petition for the removal of Monday. We don’t really need Monday do we?

  • …Snake guy just lost his friends! I hope he isn’t sad. ^_^ Poor Paul though…

    • They ditched him without even looking back. Mean demon snakes.

      • Chris Dangerfield

Demons make it hurt cumming or going. Feckers.

        • Hihihi.

        • Tyler Griffin

hurt cumming? remember an itch can be ok if it passes, but a burn is always bad news ;P

      • bronakopdin

indeed, he’S even crying to be left alone all of a sudden

        • Tyler Griffin

That’s just cause he realizes everyone is gonna see those awkward stains on his robes now.

          • Chris Dangerfield

Total hazing from his fellow minions. Minions are such bullies!

    • Saxon_Brenton

I’ve already proposed several weeks ago a fanon that after this is all over, three of the hellsnakes come back and cause sitcom shenanigans in Shane’s life. So don’t worry about what happens in the actual webcomic, we all know that Shane and the snakes will have a happy ending.

  • syllibub

The look on Snake Guy’s face in the last panel is the look of a man who has been freed from a burden, only to realize that said burden was an integral part of his identity. Very meta.

  • Sapfo

Do you think that the demon snakes might be into groups hugs? Maybe they just want to hug them all. “Please Love us, let us hug you!”

    • ‘We know we drool. Can’t help it, sorry’.

      • bronakopdin

        they’re just too excited ^^

    • Saxon_Brenton

Puts me in mind of the baby cobras from early in the Skin Horse webcomic: “Scary big words! Give us hugs!!!”

    • Chris Dangerfield

      So cuddly!

  • That’s so Alex! making us believe to keep snake guy just as a running joke for over a year, and then BAM!, and he’s back in the action!

    • Chris Dangerfield

That is stone truth. Go Woolfson!

  • bronakopdin

gosh those snakes look so creepy up close somehow xD
    awesome design indeed ^^
with them drolling like that and jumping into the screen I thought about Fluffy for a second x’D
So snake guy is finally freed… a little… as enough of them remain with him ^^’
I liked Tyler’s idea of red+yellow viles=orange snakes! The long awaited snake mom might really appear if Paul throws them at once O__O
We’ll just have to stay tuned >_<

  • Shiny Gwilly

    uh oh????
really hoping fluke’s good luck is continuing now, they’ve already got a lot to deal with, now maybe spooky snakes? (get it…ok, nevermind)

  • Flamesilocks

Four snakes + four guys? Yeah, Fluke’s got some good luck coming his way.

  • Klaus

What is it that the demon snakes have left behind holding the minions? It does not seem to have any heads.

    • Jeldenil

      Demon ropes?

    • Columbine

One of the other shots shows at least six snakes around that guy so……Some of them are asleep I guess?

      • Klaus

I count seven in the first panel. But the last panel is no wide shot. There could easily be more snakes in motion than those we see.

    • Pietro7

Looks like there were seven snakes – four have jumped towards Fluke, leaving three still cuddling with Shane-guy? (Best guess while awaiting a wider-angle view.)

      • Klaus

There were nine when they emerged from the bottle http://webcomics.yaoi911.com/typ/ete-ch3-page-100/

It is only now that I notice how happy Fluke is looking on that page.

        • Chris Dangerfield

Demon snakes are like Flying Robot Nina Pigs. They multiply when you aren’t looking. It’s a quantum demon physics thing…

  • Jeldenil

Snakes are phallic symbols, right? Exactly what are you trying to say, Alex? 😉

    • Klaus

Sometimes a snake is just a snake.

      • Jeldenil

        I know, just joking

        • Klaus

Yes, I know. Every thing is either concave or -vex, and therefore has to do with sex.

          • Jeldenil

            Or fertility.

          • Malusz

Unless it’s mitosis, let’s just go with sex.

      • Chris Dangerfield

Now I’m imagining snake in the bottle smoking ‘cigars’ in between battles. Oi.

  • Columbine

Demon snakes demon snakes demon snakes! Demon snakes demon snakes demon snaaaaaaaaaaaakes! I may be slightly excited about this.

    • Tyler Griffin

But…. why do they all look like Brooklyn from Gargoyles???????

    • Klaus

      To the tume Purple Rain.

      • Damn you LOL .. I tried doing that. It’s doable.

    • D. G.

      Only a little.

  • Saxon_Brenton

Hi. Just got back from gaming and… [Stares at hellsnake migration]
I was not expecting anything like this!

    • Klaus

      Nobody expects the hellsnake migration.

    • D. G.

Really nice twist in the story right?

  • karmakat

*points at the snakes attack* and this kid is the perfect proof that the platinum priestess is a dumbass manipulative bitch that doesn’t really how to think and use her platinum blonde brain
    hehe

    • Klaus

Yes. Now she may regret that she did not spend the time (and the power) to save her minion. Either the snakes attack the minions, or they charge up Fluke.

      • karmakat

never try to silver tongue a demon snake. they aren’t a naive as humans and will attack you when they see fit.
as i said to me it’s a proof all she is good at is manipulation and backstabbing.
and i HATE that she has a Wiccan headband crown…

        • Klaus

If you want loyal minions, you must reward loyalty with loyalty. Not taking a moment to rescue this guy is going to give her trouble with her minions for years to come. If any minion who witnessed it survives, of course.

          • karmakat

sincerely i “kinda” hope she doesn’t survives…or get mauled…or trapped in hell with barely any powers, if any, forever hehe

  • Nate

Not much to say on this, plot-wise… but that is some beautifully detailed art. Kudos to Adam & Veronica!

  • Pikinanou

They have good dental plans in Hell, because those demons snakes have great teeth!

  • TwilightDreamer

oh dear….this is either going to be really good, or really bad….

  • Jason Moon

Oh please don’t tell me that, on top of EVERYTHING ELSE these monsters are racist, too! 🙂 (Well, they ARE demons)

    • Uuh? I just think they see new prey.

      • Nate

Maybe they just want to play fetch?

        • Chris Dangerfield

Who’s a good snake… you are! Yes you are. Such a good baby. 😀

    • Klaus

Coming as they do from a bottle of red liquid, they just hate bottles of yellow liquid.

      • Jason Moon

        I knew it! They’re Liquidists! 🙂

  • Justin White

    wow epic battle

  • Jason Wexler

Alright clearly I missed something, Fluke hasn’t thrown the vials yet, where did those serpents come from?

    • They were in the bottle that Spooky threw during their first fight at the scene. Before they were knocked out cold. If you go back through the pages with the minions, you will notice him in some panels. Poor minion Shane (we named him) has been wrapped in those snakes ever since he was hit with them, and no one has tried to release him.

It’s been a topic of amusement in the comments every time he showed on a page 🙂

      • Jason Wexler

I think I may have just outed myself as not being a regular reader of the comment section. I hope no one will hold it against me.

    • davefragments

Go into the archives and see the spell and the bottle that brought about the snakes — chapter 3 pages 100 and 101.

  • somebody

    ooohhh nooo!!!
    what’s going ooon???
waaahhh I can’t wait to see how this ends!!
    so thrilling!!!

    • Klaus

It is not going to end for at least a couple of years.

      • Chris Dangerfield

That’s what happens when you make deals with hell. 🙂

  • MoonByte

Man, LUCKY that those snakes saw the bottles, huh?

    • Chris Dangerfield

Alcoholic reptiles. They go to meetings and stuff, (the coffee and cookies are crap) but it’s the darn lure of the bottle. It always get’s them.

I hear Spooky often chairs the group meetings…

Spooky: “Okay Mr. Slithers, tell the group how you did this week…”

(See, this is why Anaado matters. Spooky does NOT discriminate. He helps any creature willing to try and better itself. That’s why he is my BFF. HA!)

  • Aitsuki

Told ya. Your gonna get eaten by a demon.

  • davefragments

Perhaps that yellow bottle contains “girl” demon snakes.

    • no hetero-normative assumptions here – let them interloop with whomever they want to! 😉

      • Chris Dangerfield

HA… Demon snake SJW’s. You win the internet!

    • Chris Dangerfield

It’s always reptile sex with you, DFrag. I’m so impressed with your fortitude. Honestly, my mother would run screaming either way. 🙂

      • davefragments

Hey, they’re sailors. They find themselves in a strange port of call and might be in want of a little one-on-one action with a girl snake.

        Just a random thought

        • Chris Dangerfield

I refuse to engage in a discussion about binary reptile assumptions… 🙂

  • Gregory In Seattle

I’m thinking that the snakes are rushing Fluke, who will throw one of the bottles at them, which will JUST HAPPEN to be the one that makes them explode all over the cultists.

    • Chris Dangerfield

Ewwwwww… scales and ‘stuff’ everywhere. LOVE IT. 🙂

  • Jeff Baker

“Okay, you go after the vials, I’m going to audition for Snakes On A Plane III.”

    • Chris Dangerfield

Total franchise pandering. You have TYP’s full support and I hear Mr. Woolfson’s law firm will be contacting you shortly.

      Sincerely,
      Dewey, Cheatum & Howe, LLC

      • davefragments

I know that law firm as:
Greed, Shit, Claw, and Delay, LLC

        • Chris Dangerfield

Yes, but I thought Laampros retained THEM? Well, maybe Alex and Laampros are both savvier businessmen than we know? Ah well… 😀

          • Jeff Baker

Will they send a driver? Pikkup Andropov?

          • Chris Dangerfield

Okay… HA! (I’m remembering that one)

  • stickfigurefairytales

Interesting – previously I’d thought that the demon snakes had heads at both ends of their bodies, but I can see now that isn’t the case.

    • Chris Dangerfield

They might, if it suddenly became necessary. That’s my point. “DEMON” snakes. I think the laws of physics might be a bit bendable, but what do I know? 🙂

      • Klaus

        Snakes are bendable.

        • Chris Dangerfield

On first read I read, “bedable” and I was momentarily worried about you Klaus… but I’ve engaged my brain and agree that you are (as usual) correct. “Flexibility” is a snake’s watchword. 😀

      • stickfigurefairytales

Maybe they can poof into a single hydra-like entity at will! (That’s hydra as in the many-headed Greek monster, not the Marvel-verse Hydra logo, which is some sort of skull-octopus)

  • Mary Klemzak

Was gonna say, looks like Spooks handiwork. Good luck or bad, it’ll buy some time. Which they’re seriously lacking in, currently.

    • Chris Dangerfield

Too true. You KNOW Sircea is a busy girl and bad things WILL happen. It’s just how this “hell” thing operates. Heh.

  • Vaira

I’ve seen enough of hentai to know where this is going.
Sorry, someone had to post this comment 😉

  • Stephen Hutchison

I suspect that the snakes are, through some vast and unwieldy bit of “good fortune,” Fluke-fanserpents. And therefore going to help him. Hoping for autographs and getting to hang out with him later.

    • Pietro7

Shane-minion doesn’t seem at all happy about it – I’m pretty sure those tears running down his face are not induced by joy. But then, being abandoned by your Goddess-mistress and ignored by your compatriots while bound and threatened by Hell-snakes sounds more than traumatic enough to induce tears.

      • Stephen Hutchison

I am sure that HappyDemonSnake is also happy because Shane-minion is not happy. It’s a sort of serpentine schadenfreude.

      • Chris Dangerfield

And to think, it only took all of that minus the snakes to traumatize Kyle on the hell-date. However, Shane-minion didn’t have to get naked first. I guess Shane-minion will just have to buck-it-up… LOL.

  • Earl Patterson

    Oh My God!! It’s Graboid!!

  • Stephen Hutchison

Ya know the best creepiest part? Look at their teeth. They have HUMAN teeth once you get past the front fangs.

  • davefragments

In the second panel I count four minions in hooded robes and in the last panel I count four demon snakes with drooling fangs.

The words “snack time” come to mind.

    • Chris Dangerfield

IDK… minions are so fattening. 😀

      • davefragments

Like potato chips — they can’t eat just one…

      • syllibub

        It’s all the grease.

  • Malusz

By the way, when is the cavalry supposed to finally arrive at the scene and save the day? Possibly with the classical bugle charge tune. After all, the kids are only there to waste as much of Sircea and Annihilator’s time as possible before the grownups take charge of everything.

    • Chris Dangerfield

I know, right? I keep asking this same question, but then Klaus patiently explains to me that the last 452 pages have only taken about 47 minutes in real time (the sacrifice people in the glass box haven’t even been smooshed yet) so apparently, given the questionable efficiency of the US military, it’s not really a surprise that they’re not even dressed in their natty fatigues yet, let alone aboard those Blackhawk Helicopters and on their way to ‘Abbott & Costello’ the day.

At, which point, I’m sure one of those “small” demons, who swallows helicopters, will probably be present.

Trust me, there’s no logical win when the military goes all FUBAR. My money is totally on Amanda at this point. 😀

    • I remember Amanda said (during their planning on the plane) that the military would be at least an hour away from being able to arrive, and there was 55mins left on the clock when YP found them.
They went on the attack, to try and stop it because the military couldn’t make it in time, but Amanda alarmed them.

  • Librarican

This comment is completely unrelated to the above content. I’m making a concentrated effort to make it to England for the very first time this fall. To boot, I’ll probably be traveling solo for a good portion of it, if not the whole thing. Knowing that several of the regular commenters live in that general area or have visited there before, any suggestions on places to visit, things that don’t live up to the hype, or things that take more time than expected?

    • Klaus

The only place in England I have visited is London. I recommend it. If you are going to visit the most popular tourist attractions, e.g. Tower or Westminster Abbey, you can save time by buying a London Pass in advance. It lets you skip the queue.

      • What about Kings Cross? Platform 9 and 3/4?

      • Librarican

London and Stratford-Upon-Avon are the primary reasons if I’m honest, but I am looking for other day/over night trips. Edinburgh seems like it has a lot to offer, so it may get two days.

        • Klaus

Don’t let the Scots hear you say that Edinburgh is in England!

British Museum is great. If you are at all interested in plants or gardens, Kew Gardens is a must. A very strong candidate for prime botanical garden of the world.

          • Librarican

            Oh, I didn’t mean to imply! 😛
Someone in real life had suggested doing the entire island (Wales, Scotland and England) but I don’t know how much time I would need to make it worth my while. So then they said just spend a weekend in Edinburgh and started talking about everything it had to offer.

Kew Gardens… kewl. I’ll add that to my list of things to look into.

    • Keneu

I have visited London and Oxford some years ago. I didn’t visit many things when I went to London, but I liked the British Museum a lot. It definitetly takes a lot of time to see all of it.

As for Oxford, it can be seen in just a couple of days if you want to stay in town. The most interesting attractions there -at least to me- were the colleges, the Ashmolean museum and the castle. If you want to visit the county, I recommend going to Blenheim Palace in Woodstock (Winston Churchill’s residence), and walking along the water canal or visiting the riverside villages.

      • Librarican

That’s like the fourth vote for British Museum in less then a week, so that’s definitely going on my list, probably a full day.

Ashmolean has a castle? And thanks for the Blenheim Palace recommendation. I figure I’m going to need a “nurture by nature” day to regroup at some point, and was looking at the London parks.

  • Hmm, I just had a thought again. Don’t remember how much I previously have voiced it or just thought about it. Could another reason for Team Silver’s timing for this be that since all heroes, villains and other powerful interns is off-planet – and they might be able to prevent them from coming back, if Team Silver takes over now?

How much influence does these two have in that meeting happening now? Something I’ve wondered since chapter 2, also since we don’t fully know (yet) what exactly causes almost every powerful meta-people to attending this.

    • syllibub

I don’t think the timing is a coincidence. No doubt it’s much easier to pull off a stunt like this when teams of trained adults with powers can’t descend on the ritual site. I hadn’t considered that part of their plan might be to keep the other meta-people out of harm’s way so they’d have assistance getting rid of the demons — good thought!

  • davefragments

    How is it going tonight?
I have had a relatively nice day for several personal reasons.
Today, I voted this afternoon which in this election means that I voted for my weasel or ne’er-do-well instead of your weasel or ne’er-do-well. Next vote is the Big One, Election Day in November.
Also, I got “I am a Hero, volume 1” by Hanazawa, and a pair of new boots.
And no rain on my head.
    So good day.

    • Yay for voting!!

I’m being called to cook the fish.

      • davefragments

        Hi AJ.
        Yes, yay for voting.
BTW — I watched BLACKHAT the other night. Good actors with a bad script, lousy direction, poor cutting, and too long.

        • Is that the one with Chris Hemsworth in it?

          • davefragments

Yes and he does great. Viola Davis is excellent and the Japanese actors are equally good but the way the story is directed and told is just awful. Michael Mann laid a rotten egg directing this one.

          • I saw bits of it and had to leave. So definitely bad

          • davefragments

It only gets really good about 3/4 through when they figure out what the hacker wants to do and why.

          • Doesn’t seem it to sit through just for the end.

          • davefragments

Well, Comcast had their “Watchathon” week so since I don’t get Cinemax, I scoured the movies there and this was one of them.
The next night they had CHILDREN OF MEN and if you haven’t seen that, please do. Take the hankies and a box of kleenex, though.

    • syllibub

Hey, Dave. Glad you had a good day!

      • davefragments

Hi, I hope yours was good.

        • syllibub

          Thanks — no complaints!

    • Doki has washed ALL dishes, cooked dinner, baked cake, showered….got grandmother to take her pills morning and night, walked her to the bathroom a couple of times, helped her order things from PCH….

      • davefragments

I know that routine. It’s the best that you can do for your Grandmother.

        • *sigh* at the doctors on Friday they gave her two new pills, one for UTI and another one for elderly depression which is also supposed to get her to eat more. I say elderly depression because the doctor said it was the one they prescribed for their older patients.

          • davefragments

Doctors drove me crazy after my Mom fell and started to fail to Lewy Body Dementia. I physically could’t stay with her, and had to depend on My brother and his wife. I fought doctors over too many drugs. I fought nurses and I am sure that one Rehab place hated me for my insistence. but I had too much experience with doctors as fools to do otherwise. So what you do is good. It is its own reward.

          • It is so hard to get her to take her pills some days. 🙁

          • davefragments

Yes, I know that struggle. I don’t have any advice.

  • davefragments

Well, this is set in 2027, a dystopia where no children have been born for 18 years. The world is falling apart. It is dirty, brutal, fascist, militarized England and one man has to escort a very special woman to the “Humanity Project” boat. That woman is pregnant against all odds.
It is stunning to watch. Alfonso Cuaron creates images that are exceptional. He had it related on Christmas Day and calls it, his Nativity movie.

  • syllibub

Curious to see what the snakes do, but I also miss Sircea…please show her in the background, at least? I want to know what she and Duncan are up to. *fingers crossed*
