557 Comments on The Young Protectors: Engaging The Enemy Chapter Three—Page 86

PRO TIP: You don’t need to drop the mic when you can blast off into the air at super-sonic speeds.

I had an amazing time at the WEBCOMIC RAMPAGE in Austin, TX! I want to thank each and every one of you who stopped by to let me know how much you enjoyed my work. I’m still grinning from how much fun it was to meet you and getting to hear what you think about what’s been going on with The Young Protectors. I really do have the best readers in the whole world. 😀

And, alas, my computer is still dead but now I’m finally home and look what UPS just delivered:

AMW_Comics_TYP_V1_Advance_Copies_IMG_0076

(click to embiggen)

It’s four advance copies of The Young Protectors: Engaging the Enemy Vol. One from the printer and they look awesome! The paper is thick, glossy and gorgeous. This book is comfortable to hold but has some heft! I’m over the moon with happiness! Yay!

I’ll be receiving the bulk copies in January and then, after Adam and Vero are finished with their signing, will be sending copies off to the Kickstarter backers. And after that, it’ll be available to buy from me (from my store or at Cons), from Amazon, or at a select group of retail stores (such as Whatever in the Castro and Dragon’s Lair in Austin, TX.) I’m so excited to get these out into the world! 😀

Oh and…

***THIS IS A BONUS PAGE!***

Our seventy-fourth bonus page in a row! And a couple days ago, you yet again tipped the donation bar past its target! 😀 That means that thanks to your generous donations, and in addition to our regular Saturday updates, there will also be bonus pages on Wednesday, December 17th (page 88!), Wednesday, December 24th (page 90!), Wednesday, December 31st (page 92!) and now an additional bonus page (page 94!) on Wednesday, January 7th! Thank you all so, so much! 😀

I still don’t have access to any of my donor info, but I’m off to the Apple Store tomorrow to get my computer fixed so hopefully next time, I’ll be able to give you all the individual thanks you deserve. In the meantime, please know: YOU ARE ALL THE MOST AWESOME READERS IN THE WHOLE WORLD!

Thank you all so much for your generous support!

So! Looks like Kyle and Mitch have had a moment. What could this lead to? The beginning of a beautiful friendship… or something deeper? Has Kyle found someone to literally watch over him? Or is this new connection just one of those fly-by-night things, soon forgotten? And will either live long enough to find out?

Tune in this Saturday to find out! Hope to see you there! 😀

  • Weee

  • DC

No neither of you die please 🙂

    • stickfigurefairytales

Nobody on the team die, please!!!

  • *squeeeee*

  • You are so not lame, Mitch.

  • Definitely squee-able…

……*glares at Alex* THEY HAD BETTER BOTH LIVE LONG ENOUGH!!!!

    • stickfigurefairytales

…Or Alex might not live long enough to regret it.

      • Doki does not advocate violence against Alex, but if Mitch dies, she will definitely have some very mean thoughts for awhile.

        • stickfigurefairytales

“I hope he stubs his toe on a chair! And that his laundry is full of static! And that he forgets about his tea or coffee until it’s just lukewarm!”

    • FLY BY NIGHT THINGS, SOON FORGOTTEN???

      No, no, NO!!!

      • I want to jump on that ship now!!!

…but will wait for a few more years.

    • HOLY TYP BATMAN. We’d better stick around for the next page or Doki may lose her SQUEE!

      • I have a feeling that Doki’s fueled up on squees for rest of the trip, or at least until the battle begins.

  • *heart felt music plays in background* Oh Mitch, that was really just perfect 😉

  • stickfigurefairytales

    Mitch is awesome.

  • davefragments

That’s a good page. It’s a great twist of who says what to who.

  • Blasting off into the air so very much trumps mic drops.

  • Saxon_Brenton

Deadtree edition Young Protectors tradepaperbacks! Yay!

  • DC

Mitch is always cute but in panel 4 he is gorgeous and so fine with that smile, especially since we seem to have seen him frowning quite a bit.

    • I love what Adam and Vero did there. Just perfect. 🙂

      • I’m with both of you. That look and that line are perfect together. So great.

  • Precious

    -Is freaking out over here-

    • Please share when you are done!!!

  • silibub

Mitch, that was far from lame!

I find it interesting that of the two of them, Mitch seems more comfortable in his sexuality, even though he’s kept quiet about it. Or at least, that’s the impression I get from the way he talks about it without seeming tortured, just sorry that Kyle felt like he was the only one. At any rate, it seems like he’s prepared to guide and support Kyle rather than the other way around, which is unexpected given their respective ages and speaks volumes about their personalities. Mitch may be the youngest physically, but it doesn’t seem like he is emotionally.

And I really, really love panel four! He looks so competent and mature. After they get through this (because I refuse to entertain the possibility that they won’t, haha), I really want to see him and Kyle bond more!

    • Love this post silibub, and so agree…

I’d like to think that not burning down the house and injuring family due to an unexpected eruption has helped Mitch to an easier understanding of his sexuality. As you and others have mentioned previously, I think Kyle has more than just “gay-mountain” to climb to get himself fully together.

      But he will.

I’m also with you on the “LIVE, DAMN YOU, LIIIIIIVE!” sentiment. I refuse to entertain alternate theories at this time. Honestly, I don’t have enough kleenex. LOL.

    • AeeDee

I immediately noticed this as well. I think it’s incredibly significant that he’s so comfortable with his sexuality, even if he remains mostly closeted. He doesn’t seem intimidated by it, or afraid of what he is, and that’s so important of an example for Kyle. It’s endearing that their youngest teammate can be that encouraging mentor, but it’s also a very nice inversion to the usual trope of age bringing about more wisdom and self-awareness.

      • Oh yes, so agree.

It’s a fact that we all come to self-acceptance (whatever that means to each of us) in our own time. Sad to say that age seems to have much less to do with it than our life experiences and environments when young. So I agree, this is a lovely inversion of well trod trope.

    • Soirbleu

Silibub, do you think that perhaps part of the reason that Mitch does seem more confident in his sexuality is because he already knows he’s not alone? He’s got his YP family, and they are all like older brothers to him (well except Amanda, obviously.). Also Kyle’s already had to be in the difficult position of being the first to come out. And there’s a reasonable chance that Mr. Good Hearing heard Paul and Spooky being supportive to Kyle in the warehouse. I wonder if these factors have helped Mitch with feeling more comfortable expressing himself to Kyle, and therefore appearing more mature to us readers?

Mind you, I don’t disagree with you. And I’m not a gay male. But I was curious if those things could have contributed to Mitch’s straightforward calm?

Curious how others see it as well, and certainly hope my suppositions were not insulting…because I truly didn’t mean them to be…

      • Klaus

Kyle coming out was just a few hours ago. I think it would take longer for Mitch to build confidence from that.

        • Soirbleu

          Yeah, probably you’re right.

      • silibub

Interesting question! I think Chris made a good point earlier when he brought up Kyle’s traumatic introduction to sexual activity — as far as we know, Mitch didn’t bring a tornado down on his house the first time he tried anything, so maybe part of his relative comfort compared to Kyle’s is not having that particular hang-up regarding sex in general. I think Kyle’s especially hard on himself because he perceives his sexuality as literally dangerous.

        • Soirbleu

Oh, yeah. Almost killing people you care about could give people hangups above and beyond the “I don’t fit social/cultural ‘norms’.” I feel stupid I wasn’t really thinking about that when I posted… o_O

          • silibub

Nooo, don’t feel stupid — it was a legitimate question to ask! There are a lot of factors that contribute to how comfortable (or not) people feel in their sexuality, and Kyle happens to have a particularly complicated relationship with his. It’s interesting to consider what hangups Mitch does or doesn’t share with him.

  • Alex, you didn’t disappoint! Mitch is very handsome indeed on this page.

  • Klaus

Good thing that Mitch has super hearing.

    • Saxon_Brenton

Yeah. And I was about to wonder whether his hearing works when he’s moving at super-sonic speeds, but then I realised that in this instance he wouldn’t be going super-sonic in case the sonic boom alerted the bad guys.

  • I love Mitch in ALL the panels. But my personal fave is panel 3. <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

    • Klaus

My personal favorite it panel 5.

    Goggles on! Flying Penguin awaaaaaaayy!!

  • Sapfo

    Good morning! Good page! 😀
Bad student have to hit the books! D:

Mitch is very wish for his young age. Give it a few years and maybe….

I am having book envy right now. Alex is having all the books (4) and none at my place. They look supergreat!

Now I have to go back to the school books… they dont even look half as nice as Alex´s books.
Thank you for the great page!

    • Good Morning, Ms Sapfo. You tell those books to behave. And I hope the school work goes quickly.

      • Sapfo

*trying to hand over the books* You do it? Please?
(only one more week of this and then I can put them away for a bit)

        • stickfigurefairytales

You can do it, Sapfo! Show those books who’s boss!

          • Sapfo

            The book bit me ‘*-_-

          • D. Garrett

a biting book! sounds like a money maker. market THAT and go to school for fun when u feel like it!

        • I’ll bring you snacks (strawberry tarts!) and cheer you on. You got this!

          • Sapfo

Oh thank you AJ! I need some strawberrie power to pull myself out of this.

          • Strawberry tarts, superfood! See it’s cute little cape. 😀

    • You’re welcome, Sapfo! Good luck with those school books! I’m looking forward to when I can send you your very own TYP book! 🙂

  • Nirgal

Am I the only one who thinks that the best we can hope for Mitch right now is a near-mortal wound?

    • stickfigurefairytales

But mostly dead is better than all dead! With mostly dead, he’s slightly alive!

      • *ring ring*

“Bring out your dead, bring out your dead”

      • EldrinSMP

And with this, there’s always the hope for wuv! Tru wuv!

        • Acintyabedhabedhadasa

Maybe Sircea can cast a spell to turn him straight.

  • I really didn’t think our gang of (A,A&V) would be able to beat the last page for sheer feel-goodness avec yummy mens… but YA DID. Such a fun page day!

Alex, even with substitute tech, you give great notes. I swear I enjoy them as much as the page. It’s fact that a great set of notes embiggens the author and reader both. So thanks for taking the time.

The fact that actual books are arriving, even early ones, and that you’re happy with them… well I pulled off a SQUEEEEE worthy of Doki (she’d be so proud).

P#1 — As always I love it when you guys (as you most often do) do the extra work needed to create a great two-shot, even when it’s just to be over Kyle’s shoulder, so we see where they are in proximity to each other. It’s just like that maraschino cherry on the panel. I also REALLY loved that Mitch addressed Tsunami’s mouth (that jab about corrupting was easily one of the worst things he said) and that Mitch says clearly that he does NOT approve, and now that he’s prepared, Kyle can count on him to stand beside him… thus also taking any burden of self-flagellation away from Kyle. So wise and generous. Compliments that he still sounds fifteen in all the right character ways. Loved it.

P#2 — Just the most adorkable look and the sweetest line ever delivered seconds before a battle. Adam and Veronica… the expression is perfect… yeah… perfect!

P#3&4 — Our boy is rocking those goggles. So appealing. Again with the art compliments and more compliments on pure fifteen-speak coupled with absolute sincerity. So nicely done.

P#5 — No kidding. “Drop the what?” Rockin’ exit! I swear I could hear the score orchestra hit the big exit sting… with that tiny delicate follow up melody that runs over…

P#5 — Kyle’s stunned and heartfelt line. You can feel and read in his face and words how VERY much the means to him in that one line and how beautifully he’s visualized.

Just major major compliments. After all the arguing and the battle speculations and shenanigans of the previous scenes. Here, in just a few pages, you totally reversed all emo into absolutely heartfelt sincerity and upped the stakes really significantly as (at least for this gay man) to how very much we connect with these wonderful characters. Now their well-being is more important to us than ever. Beautifully done.

(*chris goes off and works on THAT exit… awesome.)

    • Thank you very much for another one of your very thoughtful comments, Chris. So glad you liked the page (and my notes—which I put more time into than I care to admit. 😉 ) Reading your play-by-play here was lots of fun and has put a big smile on my face. Nice.

  • Mir

Mitch in panel four is adorable. Love how this scene turned out.

    ‘Don’t die– Okay?”

I swear if that’s some crazy foreshadowing or irony here i’m going to cry.

  • Mitch has the best ‘worst’ timing here <3
They're on their way into a fight and really didn't have time for this talk, but Mitch took it anyway and I'm so happy he did!

Kyle has gotten more support than he expected after his 'BIG bad' secret is out, and in ways he didn't expect. I'm not saying that this will magically make everything happening in the last 24 hours better, because he's still processing a trauma, but this must be beyond anything he expected.

Kyle is not alone. He has felt the strong support of his two best friends, and now comes a kindred spirit (even though that's probably not the right word for it). He's not alone. In fact I'd say his sense, his feeling, of 'family' just grew. He can take that knowledge with him into the fight.
He can go into battle knowing he's not alone, Not a bad feeling at all for an orphant who, until the last half day, probably feared losing his home base.

NOW.. let's just hope that none of them get hurt (badly) or suddently find themself in another dimension *looks at Sircea*, because I refuse to go anything beyond that in what could happen to them.
It's time to start fretting from page to page until this is first battle is over and we know what to expect next. *Crosses fingers* Please let the whole team come out of this safe.

    • Steven K.

Oh, I’d say “kindred spirit” is actually appropriate on several levels.

    • Sarah314159

Yeah. Kyle is coming into this fight with a lot of guilt and self-doubt; this has got to help a lot with that. It’ll take him years to work through it all in the long run, but in the short run, the right words of support and understanding from a friend can do so much to lift a person out of debilitating misery. Good job, Mitch.

  • D. Garrett

um kyle is super hot (lol!) in dat last panel. *squee. he he. somebody had to do it for him!

  • D. Garrett

kyle’s trauma is so fresh, i worry he might freeze when he sees duncan for the first time up close. *bites mah nails and paces.

    • TwilightDreamer

likely, he’ll either freeze…or go into a fit of rage…really not sure which one 😛

      • D. Garrett

a fire wielder in a fit off rage?! what a mental image! if that happens i hope the team is at a safe distance. *worries even more now…grinds teeth regretting my decision to stop smoking…

        • TwilightDreamer

Oh yeah, clear the path everyone! XD
….actually, I wouldn’t be surprised is Platinum Princess plays to his emotions to distract him, I can just hear her speaking so cruelly now…
hey, if you’ve given up smoking, then you have my total support 🙂 well done.

          • D. Garrett

            tyvm 4 that!

  • Acintyabedhabedhadasa

Heh heh, he’s got Kyle’s back!

I finally figured out Mitch’s costume. It’s supposed to look like a penguin. Maybe because of that gay penguin thing a few years ago…? Because Mitch can’t just be gay, he has to have Penguin Homosexuality or something!

    • Steven K.

Except penguins can’t fly. :/ On the other matter, though … yeah – does that mean that Mitch is saying he would prefer to be the top in that relationship?

    • baranchi

The jacket and the goggles say aviator to me, which goes with the flying theme. I think the rest is just typical super hero spandex.

  • AeeDee

    Panel Four: Swooooon.

Oh, are there words on this page? Had to take a minute and then attempt reading it a second time. (I am uncomfortable with how handsome Flyboy is, but I also reckon that he’s a fictional character so I will allow myself some leniency with the ethics police.)

    • Sarah314159

Haha, yeah. I don’t check out 15-year-olds in the real world, but 15-year-olds in the real world aren’t, y’know, drop-dead gorgeous superheroes….

  • Michael

Aww. I’m still waiting for Flyboy’s heartfelt confession of undying gay love.

And/or somebody to hug Kyle, because at the very least he needs a hug.

  • TwilightDreamer

a pair of sweet hearts….love it!! XD so adorable both of them 🙂

  • fujoshifanatic

Well, we didn’t get a kiss, but panels 3 and 4 more than made up for that! Flyboy, in those two panels, we can clearly see that you are much, much closer to being a (hot!) young man than a little kid! Adam and Veronica really outdid themselves with the artwork on this page. I think Mitch’s hint of a dimple in panel four nearly killed me with the cute.

In fact, between the dialogue and the art, that panel is such an awesomely cool blend of badass and adorable I could eat it like a sundae. And that very last panel of Kyle, his face so full of feels even I’m blushing, is the flaming cherry of doki on top! Like a previous poster said below, I am now going to be on pins and needles with every new update, sending protective thoughts to all my little heroes before, during and after the upcoming melee.

Thank you for another stunning page Alex, and good luck with your computer! May it be a swift and easy resurrection performed by the Apple elves later today. 🙂

    • Thank you, fujoshifanatic! Hopefully the Apple Gods will be kind. I was at least able to get it alive long enough for a final Time Machine backup and that’s a good thing…

  • Mary Klemzak

    What? No bro hug?!?

When they win and Kyle shows his awesomeness, I’m sure there will be epic high fives and bro fists all around!

Till then, heavy FlyFire shipping abounds!!

  • kamishiro

That smiiile, flyboy sure is a great boy 🙂

  • And of course I fell asleep. Sorry. >.<
But can I mention that that was an oddly charming moment? :3 Flyboy can be pretty cute.

  • Acintyabedhabedhadasa

Prediction: the power dampener will be used against Mitch, causing him to plummet to the ground.

    • DelorgesDee

I suppose he’ll be high enough to be out of range, should the power dampener come into play in this fight. The problem with using that device is that it’d of course also affect yourself, so I’m not sure it’d be that useful for our bad guys.

      • Tahir Raines

It would be useful for Sircea since magic is immune to power dampeners. Hell if I was Sircea and began to doubt my non-magically powered nigh-invulnerable teammate’s loyalty, I would keep a power dampener on hand just in case.

        • DelorgesDee

Oh, I didn’t know the damper doesn’t work on magic. Sure, in that case it’s very handy to have around.

  • You know, for some reason, I thought Mitch would take the plane back up, not actually fly up. But I like seeing the dirt, grass, leaves reacting to his take off. Don’t know why, but I keep thinking cool effect.

    • Taking the plane up would have been a distraction.

    • D. Garrett

for some reason i thought the same thing! go figure. but i think this is much easier for him.

    • DC

He needs his hands free so he can pick up that boulder 🙂
Yes I do think he will obey orders but…if things don’t go to plan maybe…I can only hope 🙂

    • I thought that too, but I’m pretty sure that what Amanda asked for was “eyes in the sky” so she could keep track of everyone… so it makes sense. However, I had the same thought of (next page) Mitch landing sheepishly and say to Kyle, “Erm… forgot the jet.” Then taking off again with the jet. (I know Spooky already played that beat with having to return for the hug). HA!

      • It makes so much more sense for him to be flying. He’ll have a lot more maneuverability without the plane.

        • purplefoxglove

Plus, he’ll be harder to spot from the ground.

      • Nirgal

I don’t think the world could handle that much cute.

    • Steven K.

I wonder why that would happen, though – unless he emits some type of exhaust when flying, which would seem a little weird.

      • Klaus

he is moving fast enough to leave a vacuum behind.

        • Steven K.

That’s possible – but he have to be accelerating VERY quickly to cause enough of a low-pressure area I’d think.

          • baranchi

I think it was said somewhere that he could fly faster than the Annihilator could run. So, yeah, pretty quickly.

    • Really, I was wondering why everyone just assumed he would stay in the plane….that would have made him a much larger and easier to hit target?

      • I figured the plane would be way up there. And well, they had the plane, right?

  • Mitch just proved that he is much more mature than the supposed adult in the room (Duncan).

And no, Duncan doesn’t get an up-vote from me. His “you’re corrupting the kid” is just a cover from his own attitudes, and the fact that Commander didn’t call him on it doesn’t endear her to me at the moment.

    • SofiaT

      You mean Gordon?

      • Oops. Yeah, Duncan.

        • rgleon9986

          Lol, still mean Gordon?

          • Yeah. Gordon. Tsunami.

            I’m not really blonde.

          • HA!

          • SofiaT

That’s ok. Once I called my line manager “Duncan”.
            His name is Ian.

          • Sarah314159

I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets muddled up about the names. Having two names for every character makes it hard–I think I posted a long rave about some drawings of Paul a while back and called him Mitch all the way through it.

And, yeah, I’ve found Gordon to be kind of a homophobic ass so far. I’d like to think that Commander would call him on it at a less desperate moment, but right now she’s giving complete focus to *saving the whole damn planet* and just needs her team to shut up about everything else. After saving the world, there will be plenty of time to tell people that they’re being asses.

  • Nate

Well, I didn’t get the hug I wanted (as you may have noticed, I ALWAYS want hugs) but the cute (_so_ _much_ CUTE!) makes up for it.

Mitch’s friendship (and, dare i say it, love?) is so pure and unconditional… I do believe I’m shipping FireFly right now, despite Mitch’s age.

(Is there an approved term? What about an OT3 with Spooky?)

    • Sarah314159

Romantic love? Maybe, maybe not. Love? Definitely.

This is a wonderful bit of writing, such pure love shown in a way that’s believable and not drippy. Reading this page really made me feel warm and happy.

  • Pikinanou

panel 4 needs to be a print!!!!!!! With 3 signatures for little old me, if you know what I mean *wink wink nudge nudge* 😀
Ok, more seriously, I loved this page and I think Mitch will make a super friend for Kyle, he might even be closer to him than Paul and Spooky, just because they share something the others can’t perfectly relate to. Now, will they be more than friends? For now, I don’t read it that way but that’s mainly because there wasn’t much interaction between them. Maybe after all this (BECAUSE THEY WILL SURVIVE THIS, YOU HEAR ME?!) there will be time to know each other better. I honestly don’t mind (as long as none of them hit the bucket, because if they do, I’ll have to flip all the tables there is on this planet!)

    • John

      Print. Now. 😀

      • And Chris makes three… Quorum @alexwoolfson:disqus. (Chris throws crumpled singles at Alex). Make it so!!!!!!!

    • Panel 3 would also make a great print!

  • Perverzak

oh wow this is an amazing page!! And a brilliant exit, Mitch 😀

  • HermeticallySealed

On a side note; did anyone else mistakenly see Kyle as having a mullet in that first pic? Because I did, and now I cannot unsee it. lol

  • Falconfly

I hope Gordon doesn’t find redemption and is instead just killed gruesomely.

    • Dark_Otter

Me, not so much. I think too many people are reading Gordon’s remarks and thinking, “Oh, he’s just awful and won’t ever change”… probably based on their own past encounters with similar people. The truth is, people CAN and DO change–not overnight, but eventually. We can see this in our own society writ both small and large. I’d like to think Gordon will be given that opportunity.

      • Falconfly

I know that. I just want him to die instread. Gruesomely.

What did Gordon ever do to you? He’s a decent character, and it’s not like they weren’t going to face some opposition on their side. I mean, he was freakin’ out like crazy during the porno side-story. I like him being here.

And, honestly, I hope if he does die that it’s NOT in a gruesome way. I HATE gruesome deaths in my readings.

          • Falconfly

I preffer nasty people with visionary ideas for the whole of mankind rather than petty homophobes. Is justice all that hard to ask for?

        • Just to be contrary…

I am now overwhelmed with a desire for Alex to do a very long Graphic Novel, detailing how Gordon has a long distinguished career in superheroing. We see that Gordon’s life is shortly hereafter saved by “a gay” and he sees the light and takes sensitivity training.

After the end of Tsunami’s active duty, he chooses to stay with TYP and train the young eager heroes they recruit… in (wait for it) safety procedures. He marries. Has three kids all of whom end up avoiding drugs, gangs and go to good schools. He dies in his sleep, in bed at the age of 92. His huge ranch house (by the sea of course) is filled with his loving wife of 50+ years, kids and grandkids.

His best friend, Mitch gives a truly touching speech at the memorial that makes everyone cry buckets. Then Mitch returns home to his huge lux penthouse (at the very top of a very tall building) with his two adorable husbands, an adorable slobbery dog and a half-way decent cat and their adopted toddler daughter — who, oddly enough, shows signs of being a gifted first class tele-porter, even at this very young age, and is making her three fathers constantly nervous by popping out of her crib at night.

At this point, Gordon’s will is read and he has endowed The Young Protector scholarship to help financially struggling young superheroes to afford higher eduction. This ensures that Gordon’s memory is never forgotten.

Kyle, who hasn’t aged a bit due to his hell-blood, goes home with his love and partner of 70 years, Spooky, who also hasn’t aged due to his hell experiences. Kyle wonders if and when he’ll die, and if he’ll be as well remembered as well as Gordon.

Spooky laughs and thumps him one, telling him not to be so morbid and then does something that only someone spelled to be heat-resistant can do for Kyle… and thus, since he’s still eighteen-years-old, cheers him up greatly. Needless to say Kyle is much more relaxed in this book.

Duncan does indeed go back, mind-wiped, age-regressed, exactly as The Oracle Adam Black predicted. However, instead of Mitch, he was reincarnated as Justin Bieber. No one touches this, considering it a karmically correct fate.

Sircea continues to live and plot, but has hooked up with silibub who mysteriously also ceased aging. Instead of settling down, this has made everyone very nervous. TYP remains on high-alert.

Amanda goes on the become the Presidents Head of the DOD-super hero division. All other details are top secret.

Tragically, Paul was hit by a bus very unexpectedly after saving the world for the fourth time. Due to a quirk of his power, it rained $100 bills for two weeks afterwards and people were unsure exactly what to think about the event. The President named him a National Treasure. (It’s considered that Amanda may have influenced this decision, but there is to proof, even from Wiki-leaks.)

Alex finishes this book and wins a Lammy and a Pulitzer and a Nobel Peace Prize and puts the Lammy in the bathroom of his mansion, where one of his dutiful, but well compensated, house-boys polishes it regularly. A billionaire from his action figure, publishing and consumer products empire he is currently busy turning all his intellectual properties into feature films and getting even richer.

(chris is dead as dust at this point, but is still smug from beyond the grave about having predicted all this.)

Anyway that’s the book, I’m hoping for. LOL.

          The End

          • Mitch gets two husbands? O.O *smiles fondly* That is my adorable Mitch. ^_^

          • Well that touch WAS for you… and yes they are just as squeeeeeable… XD

          • Falconfly

No, Gordon is eaten by a mutant pterosaur and turned into guano. The end.

          • Cool. That works too.

  • bronakopdin

if anything is corrupted here then it’s my heart by this story xD

I can’t help myself to think this is just ubber cute ^^
really… I know it’s important talk but my brains are like fluffy cotton right now 😀

  • Preludetoa

This will not end well. RIP a lot of people.
Thank you for not making them act in a romantic way after the coming out! Break those cliches, baby!

    • Toli Bera

hmm, that or everyone will be safe, they’ll get Duncan and PP foiled, and Kyle will talk to his daddy about repairing the walls without demons eating the everyone. then they’ll go out for Ice cream because Dairy Queen will be so thankful they’ll lift Tsunami’s ban that he got from the earlier ‘incident’.

  • Snowy Locks

Did he just say “don’t die, ok” ?
    …oh crap..he’s so dead.

    • Pikinanou

fortunately, he didn’t show Kyle a picture of his loved ones waiting for him back home, so there might be hopes 😀

    • CLASSIC LINES THAT MAKE US NERVOUS

      1. “What could possibly go wrong?”
      2. “Don’t worry. I so GOT this.”
      3. “Relax. I’ve thought of EVERYTHING!”
      4. “That’s why they call me… THE EXPERT!”
      5. “Dude! It’s in the bag.”
      5. “It’s all going to be okay. I’m wearing my lucky underwear!”

Feel free to add as needed, everyone… *snort*.

      • 7. “I promised my honey that this would be my last mission”
        8. “I retire in two days.”
        9. “I’m going to ask my honey to marry me and we’ll live in a small village off the south of France…”

        • 10. This mission is a piece of cake. Simple in and out. Done it a million times.

          • Kate G

            11. This is going to be a piece of cake.
            12. If I don’t make it….[add in mushy phrase.]

            ^I especially HATE 12.

      • Adam Black

        “is it in?”

  • John

    Flyboy… awaaaay! 🙂

  • John

I think he just IS more mature. Commander seems to recognise it, but I’m not convinced about anyone else.

  • SSF

YES! So excited to buy physical copies of the comic and I have two friends who read this who have birthdays in late Feb and early March so this being available early next year is like present-fate!

And this page was a reminder that Alex’s characters have the coolest super hero getups. I can’t stop posting about them! Love how fly Mitch looks when he pulls up the eye-protective part of his outfit and then literally flies off. So awesome. The comic really has a cinematic feel. I can easily imagine everything happening in motion on a big screen.

  • JM

Mitch is awesome, and clearly mature for his age. And for anyone who doesn’t think it’s appropriate to ship them because Mitch is a minor…to that I say: Mitch is *much* more age-appropriate for Kyle than Duncan is. I mean, not that I don’t ship Duncan/Kyle, I really really do, but Mitch is much closer in terms of emotional and sexual maturity. And age. Anyways, I like their friendship, and nothing romantic has to happen between them at all. Yet, it is really comforting to have a friend around who understands when you’re in your early coming-out years, even if it’s just a friend (I speak from experience). It makes the entire process easier. I always suspected that Mitch had a bit of an admiration crush on Kyle, though, even in the earlier pages when they found him after Duncan had left. Alex, please let them be the best gay bffs ever. With some bonus kissing.

  • MichB

We’re all talking about this like there’s only two options: either Mitch and Kyle are platonic gay bros, or they are crazy-in-love-shipped and having totally illegal sex which of course we’ll never see because it’s, like, totally illegal.
There is always the third option of… hey, maybe they go out casually, and then less casually, and then (being aware of Mitch’s minor status) decide several months later that finally getting down with it would make an excellent coming-of-age present for the young superhero once he hits majority… and once they’ve figured out how to not have Kyle burn everything to smithereens. I’m loving the idea of them as platonic bros but shipping them doesn’t mean they’re automatically obliged to have sex. Maybe in the meantime they just have a loving relationship. Goodness knows if Kyle’s learned anything from this comic it’s that you should never let your desire to bone somebody ASAP get in the way of making sensible decisions.

    • Steven K.

Very well put – that would be a set of decent scenario possibilities.

    • Sarah314159

Nice thought! Until he works out the fire problem, sex may not really be an option for Kyle, but that doesn’t mean that he wouldn’t want companionship.

And a fourth option: they’re platonic gay bros for quite a while, maybe not looking at each other romantically because of the age difference (three years *can* seem like a huge difference when you’re a teenager), they both date other people, they grow up, and then one day a few years from now they realize that their big bro/little bro dynamic has grown into a friendship between peers, and that maybe they’d like to be more than friends…

  • bergulme .

If Mitch dies, I gonna be so pissed! He is my favorite now.

  • Megan Staples

You see? Mitch said it himself, about Gordon always being too hard on Kyle now, and the ‘you corrupt’ stuff. I’m glad that Kyle knows he’s not alone.

  • Annannd

The mask pieces of their suits are very similar.

  • Matt

I’m not sure how it is in the states, but in Canada minors above a certain age can date adults as long as its less than five years age difference, and that adult is not in a position of power (teacher, coach, counsellor, etc.). Honestly, an 18 year old dating a 15 year old doesn’t seem like a big deal at all, since two students in high school could easily be that age.

EDIT: This was meant to be in response the “their sex would be illegal” comment.

    • Rashel Izro

in my state its a 4yr difference. nod

    • Pikinanou

I confirm for the Canada 🙂

    • EldrinSMP

In the States it often requires complex calculations to find out and the sex of the people involved comes into play. For instance, in GA, age of consent is 16 with the usual few years leeway for teenagers. In Florida, it’s 18, but there are legal calculations that can let people above and below the 18 date. For instance, someone 21 and a half can date someone 17, but a 16 year old can only date someone up to age 19. Heck, there used to be states where the age of consent was over 18 for certain activities.

      • Sarah314159

        “Certain activities”???

        • zunden

Primarily gay sex. SCOTUS deemed it unconstitutional to regulate private activities between consenting adults, though, so I’d imagine that in most places where those laws do/did exist, most anyone over 18 really isn’t held to them. Certainly not once you hit 21. But I dunno–maybe I’m overly optimistic.

          • Sarah314159

As sad and oppressive as it is, there’s something hilarious about a law that says, “You must be 18 for vajayjay, 21 for cock.” (And possibly the reverse for ladies, but I believe a lot of the old anti-sodomy laws just focused on dude-sex.) Also backwards–if you’re going to set different ages for one than for the other, set the higher age for the one that can make babies!

On the other hand, 21st birthday parties would be much cooler if they were celebrated with hot dude-sex instead of excessive consumption of cheap booze.

I’m pretty sure you’re right about such laws not being enforceable anymore.

          • zunden

Oh, but you see, if we let men try gay sex before they try straight sex, they’ll all turn gay and the human race will die out in a single generation!

…Mind you, we’ll all go down in a flaming ball of glitter and rainbows, so it will be a beautiful death, far more aesthetic than anything that straight people would come up with, but we will, of course, be dead, and that would be unfortunate.

          • Sarah314159

I’m giggling rather a lot at the phrase “go down in a flaming ball of glitter and rainbows.” 😀

          • zunden

It’s the truth. You know it.

  • Morgan

Another great thing about this is that in one of the first pages of the prologue, Kyle mentioned that he didn’t want anyone to know he was gay because he was a superhero and kids look up to him. Maybe now that Mitch – who everyone considers to be the “little kid” of the group – has confided in him that he’s gay too, he’ll realize that being an openly gay superhero would wouldn’t hinder him, but might actually help him be an excellent role model, especially to younger people questioning their sexuality.

  • Sarah314159

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww. That was the sweetest thing ever.

    • Soirbleu

      It made me teary.

      • Sarah314159

        Yeah, me too!

  • Kate G

Excuse me whilst I turn into a puddle because….MITCH IN GOGGLES! *puddlefied*

Okay, it’s not as puddle worthy as seeing Richard Madden as Prince Charming (did anyone see that? HOLY SMOKES. He should forever be clean shaven. Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh. I need to post that gif for all y’all. SWOON WORTHY), but seriously, those goggles completely complement his eyebrows.

And the books. THE BOOKS!!!! I want a book!!!! I have lots of exclamation points because I just successfully hunted down my childhood book (that is completely out of print) and bought it so YAY!!!!!!! (super excited.)

I will attempt something more coherent and totally more theory-like and about the art after my shower. But my brain is still short-circuiting after witnessing Richard Madden as Prince Charming. I may have watched the trailer ten too many times.

    Just…drool with me:
    http://image-cdn.zap2it.com/images/richard-madden-cinderella-trailer.gif

    • Kate G

OKAY, coherency has returned (somewhat. Still a bit haywire from Richard Madden. This may last a bit.)

Mitch is a character I can relate closely; he was forced to grow up quickly, given the brunt of the work and is always under appreciated, is treated like a kid (and I bet he feels like one in some ways still), but he knows how to say the wrong thing at the wrong time and then smooth it over with sarcasm which, inevitably, gets you into trouble later if it’s the wrong person. Of course he would freely admit he’s gay to Kyle because he trusts him, but at CLEARLY the WRONG TIME, and then attempt smoothing it over by saying, “Yea, sorry, I have the worst timing ever in history” and then goes flying off like it’s nothing.

Yea, I do that, except I normally trip. No clean getaways for me. Damn you Mitch and your super flying powers!

I love the last panel with Kyle best. Before, Kyle hadn’t had the chance to say anything got to see Kyle go through just about every emotion under the sun. We don’t know if Mitch heard him or not, but we know that Kyle clearly cares about Mitch in a whole new way; maybe not as a crush, but there’s a new form of friendship and you can see it in his face and I can imagine him saying it with a lot of feeling that would make us fans reaching for our fans (HA! I am Nightwing!) Ah, it’s a Kod-iak moment. (name that movie!)

Also, this page is thick with foreshadowing. I fear death for one of our dear superheroes is imminent. I need to crochet my anxieties away now.

      • John

I dunno about you, but if I tried a cool getaway with flight I’d probably fly into a tree or something.

        • Rule #78: No living near airports!

          • Kate G

Rule #99: No living near oak trees, bay laurels, black walnuts or Western sycamores in California. It’s illegal to remove or fatally injure one. Knowing me…yea, I’d be the one fatally injuring a tree.

          • (Excellent Mitch-rule good samaritan, exactly so)

Mitch Rule #36: No ground-skimming at high speeds in cow country (hitting the hind-end of a cow at mach speed can leave one uncomfortably wedged in a very tight space).

See accompanying digrams in Appendix D for diagrams on Bovine-spincter-extrication.

Also suggested: Appendix H – How to sooth a highly disturbed cow.

          • Kate G

Mitch Rule #1: No flying while blindfolded. To do so would cause many fatalities, if not many injuries.

Mitch Rule #292: Going, “HA!” because you’ve evaded your enemy using that new fancy move you just mastered in Chicago is a very bad idea.

See accompanying video of Mitch being plastered by the Sears (excuse me, WILLIS) Tower while fighting the Mad Cow.

          • EXCELLENT.

(Except your “Mitch Rule #1:” will need to be retitled “Mitch-Rule #1a:” because #1 was taken up by “Never deny the goggle-love.” However this is a minor problem and the Mitch-Rule Manual can be easily adjusted.

            Thank you.

          • Kate G

HA HA HA. This is very true. Or maybe yours can be Mitch Rule #0 (Can we have zeroes?)

I’m thinking we now need a book of Mitch Rules of Flying with accompanying illustrations. Alex?

            Oh, by the way:

Mitch Rule #99: No flying while having sex.

See video footage of Sex Sent Me to the ER in which a couple tried to have sex while parachuting. Mitch was horrified…and scarred for life.

          • Rule # 15 No flying backwards. I think that’s self-explanatory

Rule # 4 No flying and texting. More self-explanation..

          • Kate G

Is it even possible for him to fly in reverse? That would be pretty cool if he could go in reverse, in terms of fighting purposes.

Mitch Rule 100: No flying and answering a phone call. You can’t hear the caller anyway.

          • D. Garrett

u need to post rules 2-77.

          • Thanks, but I wanted to leave room in the systems for additions and updates as needed. XD.

          • D. Garrett

i wanna make a rule! lets see. ahem.

rule #15 everyone who has ever posted on typ comments must say something nice to d.garrett. like: u r so beautiful! or that was so smart for u to say! etc. get to work peoples! im kidding!

ok on a serious note. okay. i will wait for the rules as u post them.

          • (Oooops sorry D. Garrett, since Mitch-Rule #2 comes before #15, we’ll have to adjust with an open fly… WHAT? WAIT? No, sorry, that’s ‘adjust on the fly.)

Mitch-Rule #2: All rules are regarding Mitch and the safe use of his veritable arsenal of powers. This exercise is open to all contributions from people of good-will. Please help keep our Mitch safety, people.

Remember, despite his innate awesomeness he’s still fifteen. Even if you are his age and would like to help him put his pants ON. remember he must still do so, one leg at a time. Thank you all for your help with our young brother. XD

          • D. Garrett

well my rule was a joke anyway. lets see.

mitch rule #3: no flying in thunderstorms unless it is an absolute emergency. (hows that?)

          • Perfect.

A lightening strike to the head and @disqus_FidZAwLkzS:disqus ‘s extremely complicated plot-design speculation requiring mindwipingreincarnatingtimeloopingduncantomitch-powerchangingyouthregressingdemoncursing might simply be avoided by your simple but all important rule.

Consider it written. Consider Mitch warned!

          • D. Garrett

            yay!

          • Adam Black

Your j are ust sorry you didnt think of it first,
            @chrisdangerfield:disqus

          • True, but I’ll deny it on THE TODAY SHOW…

          • Rule #3.2 No flying in any storm, especially hail storms at mach 2 because those hails stones, the ones the size of a soft ball REALLY hurt.

          • We might have to get him a more hail-proof uniform for emergency storm flying… hmmmm.

          • Armor and deflection field?

        • Kate G

Ugh, you’re right, especially with me not looking where I’m going! I’d face plant into something!

      • Nice post. You overcame the ‘squee-factor’ that takes real internal fortitude. Thank you.

Is now the best time to place our orders for winter-crochet-wear? LOL.

        • Kate G

No, you may not place orders for winter crochet wear. I think I will barely get my presents done ON TIME. (Have I mentioned my crochet habit before or do you have some hidden camera over here?)

Yes, it takes enormous fortitude to overcome the internal “OMG SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE” thing. It does. You have to stuff your face full of Mini York Peppermint Patties to do it even half way well. Ha ha ha.

  • WarGoddess

Ohmygod Mitch just had one of the hottest moments I’ve ever seen in this comic. Is that weird? Because he just doesn’t match my type like Mr. big, muscular, and fuzzy does, but something about a young man saying stuff like that with that cool and confident air makes my heart flutter in my chest. Up til now I just thought “aww, what a cutie.” Now I’m diggin’ the Flyboy vibe. (^o^)

    • Steven K.

And ya never know – he’s likely at least semi-ripped under that garb, and he’s post-adolescent enough that he could be (as I was speculating on the last page) rather furry. I was fantasizing about him as a sexy otter-type (as opposed to smooth Kyle), with a patch of dark soft fur between his pecs and nips with an awesome dark treasure trail running on down from there – darkest in the middle but with a bit laterally as well over his six-pac.

  • baranchi

I like the whole page, but that 4th panel. Wow. Mitch in costume. That confident posture. That smile. I really hope no one dies.

  • OnyxLight

SO much love for this page so much love for the goggles

    • Rule #1: Never deny the ‘goggle-love’.

      • OnyxLight

        LOL I concur!

  • Tahir Raines

I just wanted to add that I REALLY like the effect/look of the glass on Flyboy’s goggles in panels 3 and 4. I don’t know why, but good glass effects/appearance in comics/graphic novels always interest me.

  • AseretZone

Pfft, bet Gordon is gonna flip when he finds out that Mitch didn’t need any “corrupting”.
That book….I WANT! I can’t see the price, but it’s most likely way out of my jobless price-range at the moment.

Mitch is being awesome, and then he just blasts off. XD

  • This could have come off as REALLY contrived/tacked on. I’m REALLY critical about that kind of thing. It REALLY didn’t.

  • Books. Booksbooksbooksbooks. Boookkkkkkkssssss.

Also, why did Firefox refuse point-blank to show me comments for the last two days, and now pulls them up instantly after rebooting this morning? Take it as read that everyone’s already said everything I might have wanted to say.

    • Well said. Browser sympathy (more powerful than Bro-sympathy). Thus, your amalgamted coverage of this page has been awesome in its depth and complexity. Truly impressive.

(*chris sneaks off to write down this technique for future pages*)

      • 🙂
I got so fed up this morning that I fired up Chrome, which promptly locked up the computer for five minutes while it counted its toes. At which point I decided that it was time for a nice refreshing reboot.

Honestly, I have no idea why this computer has taken such an unreasoning dislike to Disqus. I may have to resort to commenting from the iPad.

        • You are not alone. Disqus chooses to do (or not) blithely as it pleases. Sometimes I get spinning balls instead of comments and it just poops-out on me.

You are definitely not alone. Good luck. I use my iPad also but typing and editing a post on those is its own type of hell, but we pick our poison I guess.

          Best,
          ChrisD

  • If you work as or with consultants, you have dealt with this. I have dealt with a lot of this. I read this series of emails and laughed loud and very long. I share just for those days when work-emailing seems insane. It’s brilliant.

The logos are particularly worth saving. Enjoy.

    http://www.27bslash6.com/p2p2.html

    • D. Garrett

      that is ridiculously funny! omg.

    • Oh yes! I’ve read this before and laughed too. The doofus just don’t get it. Why wouldn’t anyone jump at the chance of doing a job that most likely won’t get him paid, especially since it’s already happened before?

      • I love that. Soooooo true. As one who gets asked to do professional stuff for free… ALL. THE. FRICKING. TIME. I so get it.

The only people who should be expected to spend their time and talent for free are these lovely people who make our web-comics (NO NO NO, kidding, AND just NO!).

Of course reading John Scalzi’s fan letters to himself are more than justified by the humor with which he manages his self-adoration. Maybe we can pull together a collection and buy him a full-sized body pillow with an imprint of himself on it.

(chris goes off to consider the possible expense of this.)

  • Saxon_Brenton

A number of people have noted how mature Flyboy looks as he puts on his mask and goggles in panels 3 & 4. And I agree. But in my over-analytical way I’d like to make an art observation:
    That black mask is slimming.
More specifically, the shiny material highlights the planes of his face, making him look less like he has a baby-fat round face.
(Because, you know, none of the youngsters in the team have a craggy, angular faces like the Annihilator…)
Which is strange, considering that Red Hot’s mask is also shiny material and should do much the same thing, but I’ve never consciously noticed it making his face looking older. Hmm. I’ll need to use this as an excuse to re-read the series this evening…

    • silibub

I thought the same thing about Mitch’s goggles — they really flatter his face and make him look a bit older. Kyle’s mask, maybe because it looks a little narrower beneath the eyes and doesn’t cover as much of his jaw, doesn’t have the same effect.

    • zunden

Warm and cool colors, my friend. Warm colors appear to come towards you, while cool colors appear to recede. So, Kyle’s mask would make his features come forward, seeming larger, while Flyboy’s make his recede, seeming smaller and slimmer. It’s basically an optical illusion.

      • Saxon_Brenton

Gah. I should have thought of that myself…

    • Saxon, not that you of all people ever need any excuse to re-read the series but I, like you, shall utilize your issue for the same purpose. It’s bucketing down rain where I am, and this seems a perfect reason to re-read the series while stay warm and dry.

      Thank you kindly.

  • krissdevalnor

    the comic looks awesome!!!

    • Thank you. 🙂

    • Genius avatar by the way, krissdevalnor. Love it.

      • krissdevalnor

Thanks^^ Fell in love with it when my daugther was hooked on the movie years ago. have used it everywhere ever since. Makes me seem like an innocent angel XD

  • Tim

    OMG i’m lovin’ it 😀

Mitch bein all kinda serious and honest. Kinda worried about how Gordon will take it, should he find out.

Also the books look great. I’ll have to pick one up when you start selling em in the store

    • Thank you, Tim! Glad to hear you’re liking the page and the book! 🙂

    • Sarah314159

Oh gawd, Gordon’s going to freak.

But possibly these revelations will be the start of his figuring out that, hey, teh gays are aren’t some freaky “other,” they’re his friends, and he’ll start getting over his shit.

  • thank you, alex.

i really appreciate what you didn’t do, here.

because, i believe, what i really wanted to say, was, fine; if mitch x kyle shall be a Ship, ship those two at a more appropriate time, and ship them after a sufficient amount of “justification” has been supplied, in-story, for the Discriminating Reader who likes to be challenged, and to have one’s expectations defied.

ladies, i am an ardent believer in Foreplay.

    (sometimes.)

    (l.m.f.a.o.)

    • Applause from a fellow reader who appreciates what Alex didn’t do here also. Well said.

      Just to reassure you…

Regarding your other concern, I have faith that Alex has written reams of pages detailing Mitch’s flash-backs to his child-hood. Flash-backs where we can see that he innocently walked in on his parents having sex. He was quite young so he didn’t understand that his parents ‘foreplay’ had always happened prior to his interruptions. His shock was formative.

Regardless, being such a kind and generous soul, these unexpected shocks caused him at a very young age to, then and there, pledge never to have sex without decent foreplay first. So, even at 15, he always kisses first.

I only share this to reassure you of what a fine young man he is.

It’s important to note that someone, at the appropriate point in the story, will have to explain, in detail, to Mitch that shipping does NOT involve boats. I do trust that @alexwoolfson:disqus will indeed insert the necessary page count and make sure this is clear to Mitch and the reader alike.

Finally, just to help other readers who may be confused. I have it on good report that the many Men are also believers in Foreplay… some more ardent than others, admittedly.

So, don’t fret RG (Super Hero), worry lines are never worth it. I feel sure all will be well and expectations will be defied right and left.

      Sincerely (sometimes),
      ChrisD

(chris goes off to the Urban Dictionary to look up RGSH’s final acronym, hoping it contains naughty words…)

  • Sapfo

I hearded that all the cool guys (Alex) break their computers, so I kind of did the same thing XD
That and schoolwork is keeping me away from camping. I hope you all have fun during camping. I miss you!

    • Stupid school work!

    • Adam Black

      This is unacceptable.
I am going to hold my breath, until you revise your priorities.

( seriously you better hurry )

      • Sapfo

        *pock, pock*
Oh dear… I might be a bit to late.
(I be back next week, you better hold your breath)

  • Terri Sutton

    Is it camping time?

Sorry for being absent from camping, I blame DA:I.

    • It could be that time.

      • Terri Sutton

I felt like I was talking to myself.

        • I guess we’re a bit scattered.

          • Terri Sutton

I’m going to pretend that everyone is playing DA:I.

          • Or watching Guardians of the Galaxy

          • Terri Sutton

That hasn’t been released everywhere yet has it?

          • It was just released on Bluray and DVD this Tuesday.

          • Terri Sutton

I think that it is still over week away from being released in Australia. I remember seeing the release date and thinking that it was a poor marketing idea to release it after Christmas.

          • That is a poor marketing.

          • DC

Have you tried JB hifi? You can order it online then pick it up in a store in Australia. Available from about 3/12/14.

          • Terri Sutton

I haven’t been looking because of the release date I found. I figured I could have gotten on Boxing Day.

    • A fellow “Dragon Ager!” I sadly can’t run the newest game on my computer. How is it?

      • Terri Sutton

Buggy, I surprised EA hasn’t tried to charge us for patches yet. It is very addicting despite the bugs. I can’t go into it more than that without giving away spoilers.

I’ve been playing it on my 360. While in the middle of the Cullen romance I discovered that I am a Cullen/Amell shipper.

        • I heard that Cullen was dreamy in DA:I. I remember Cullen from all the way back in DA:O and a sexy Cullen does not compute. lol

          • Terri Sutton

Look at the picture on his wiki page and make up your own mind.

            http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Cullen

          • Oh, MY-Y-Y… He is delicious. a friend told me that Cullen’s romance was almost as dorky sweet as Alistair’s.

          • Terri Sutton

I’ve been calling him Alistair 2.0, one thing that annoys me about it that is he a race specific romance but a gender specific romance as well.

          • Only human and elven females as I recall.

  • My left eye was viciously attacked by a bookmark last night, I am going to go close it for a bit, I might be back for camping or I might pass out (didn’t sleep all what well last night).

    • Terri Sutton

      Hope you feel better tomorrow.

Although being attacked by a bookmark sounds like an interesting story.

      • Not really, it fell out of the book and hit my eye. It is painful. very painful.

        • Terri Sutton

Trying to imagine how that happened, were you reading in bed with the book over you.

There goes my headcannon of the attack of the Dire Bookmark holding a pair of daggers.

    • stickfigurefairytales

Poor Doki! I hope you sleep well tonight and that your eye gets better soon.

  • davefragments

In a few minutes CONSTANTINE (which is a cliffhanger, like I really care. I’m almost at the point of giving up on it. . .) will be over and I’ll go watch “Guardians of the Galaxy” on PPV.
And try to pay attention to the update here.

    • Watching GOG right now on bluray.

      • davefragments

        3 day rental.

      • davefragments

        There’s another name …

        who?

        • I was being lazy and used the Guardians initials.

          • davefragments

Sorry, I was half-quoting the movie. I didn’t want to type STARLORD, giggle, giggle, giggle,

          • Dammit! I never seem to be able to get it when someone quotes.

          • davefragments

            That’s OK.

          • Dammit! I never seem to be able to get it when someone quotes.

          • davefragments

“Did he look funny hopping around”

            Now that was funny!

          • Ha! Yes.

          • Ha! Yes.

          • davefragments

“Did he look funny hopping around”

            Now that was funny!

      • Damn, now I want to watch it again. Haven’t since the cinema.

        • It’s just as fun!

        • davefragments

It’s way more fun than Constantine.

      • davefragments

        DANCE OFF!
        Great Climax

        • I was looking for a place to put that! Ha, yes. Dance off, Bro!

  • Hola campers! How farest thou?

    • My left eye is being unreasonable, hurts if I keep it closed, hurts if I leave it open.

      • I read how it accosted you. Have you considered pressing charges? hugs the Doki

        • I would it it would actually help. Haven’t burned it because it is a Doctor Who bookmark. -_-

          • Hey, that is the best kind! Destroy it now and hop in the TARDIS. Free replacement and maybe this time it will behave.

          • But it has all the Doctors on it, I cannot burn the Doctor.

          • You’re not actually burning the doctor because they can all go back in time to before the burning and fix the damage. They then give you a better bookmark and you get a visit from them. Win/win, see?

      • stickfigurefairytales

        Bad eye! Stop hurting Doki!

    • Terri Sutton

      Hot, I’m melting!

      • Please ship some of that heat my way? Wait, that sounded wrong… ahem I’ll happily trade some of this icy air for some of your warmth. Dang it… I’ll get this right, I swear…

        • Terri Sutton

          Hahahaha.

You don’t want this heat. (Now I sound dirty). It is a strange dry and wet heat!

          • That sounds wrong on so many levels. Bless you!

          • AHAHAHA … if you two will just keep going on for a bit I won’t have to wake up my partner a try to get him in the mood. This is fab stuff… keep it up.

            (oh wait… that sounded wrong too… I meant…)

          • You realize that I use a periscope to peek into the gutter? Be careful what you wish for…

    • Well, I think. My wrist keeps popping while I crochet. 😐

      • Admiral! zen glomp I think I have a wrist brace here somewhere. Annoying with crochet I know but not being able to knit whatsoever is more annoying still.

        • I may try the brace. It’s weird. I’m trying to make a xmas gift. And after every forth rotation of my wrist. Pop!

          • I get that with my wrist, knees, ankles… come to think of it down my spine. Is it too late for a trade-in?

          • If you find out how to trade in, let me know. I have a need for a few new parts.

          • Consider it done!

          • YAY!!!!

  • I think I accidentally have a crush on Mitch now?

  • Adam Black

    what’s with the Mitch’s Valley-Girl look in panel 1.

He’s not going to have to come out , if he uses that a lot

    ( I wonder what the script says … )

    • I’m uncertain what you mean by “Valley-Girl” look. Perhaps if you elaborated?

      • Adam Black

        His entire expression.
        Tongue-lift, eyebrow raise, eyeroll. …

@silibub:disqus I dont think it suits him as much, or maybe I just find it less attractive

        • silibub

Ha, I meant the expression fits with those speaking quirks, not so much that I think it suits his personality!

          • Adam Black

            right.
            It does match!

        • I suspect it was an attempt at a self-effacing eye roll. I give Adam points for taking chances and trying difficult expressions.

      • Steven K.

In the very affected manner of speech of typically well-to-do teenage white girls / young women in the San Fernando Valley in the state of California, U.S. I’m sure Google / Wikipedia could offer better specific info – maybe an audio file somewhere as well.

      • davefragments

Like “gag me with a spoon” dude. . .
        to mix it up

        • Dear Dave,
Having YOU quote that has made my evening. Well done. Oscars for you, sir.
          Best, CD XD

          • Adam Black

            Thats all it took ?
I didnt realize fer sure , you were like totally easy like Sunday Morning

    • silibub

Haha, he already says “Like” and “totally” a lot — the sassy eyeroll suits him.

    • Steven K.

Ummm – hate to say it, but kinda have to agree with you there – not sure I was thinking exactly that, but seems to fit now that you mention it.

  • stickfigurefairytales

Did I make it in time?

    • silibub

Hey, Stick. People are still trickling in.

      • stickfigurefairytales

Oh good! I looked at the clock and was like, “Gah! Camping!”

      • stickfigurefairytales

        How are you, sili?

        • silibub

Peachy, just a little tired. You doing well?

          • stickfigurefairytales

Yep! My brother just came home for Christmas – I haven’t seen him in a year except on Skype, so I’m really excited!

          • silibub

That’s great! I hope you have a nice time with him there. My brother just came home from college today, too.

          • stickfigurefairytales

Happy to hear about your brother being home. What year is he in? My youngest sister will be getting home tomorrow, so I’m super excited about that too. Then my other sister (also younger than me) will get home on December 21. I can’t wait!

    • You seem to have.

      • stickfigurefairytales

        Yay! How’s it going, AJ?

    • Terri Sutton

      Hello Stick.

      • stickfigurefairytales

Hi Terri! How are you today?

        • Terri Sutton

I’ve already complained about the heat; and about how lonely it was being early to camp; and I have apologised for being distracted from camping recently by DA:I.

          • stickfigurefairytales

            These things happen.

          • stickfigurefairytales

I’m sorry about the heat, though.

          • Terri Sutton

I’ve been offered cold air, but I have no idea how it is going to get shipped. I can’t believe I hoping for a wet Christmas.

          • I have a very good box fan.

          • Adam Black

Are you in Australia OR S. America ?

          • Terri Sutton

            Australia.

          • Adam Black

            No air conditioning ?

          • Terri Sutton

I have got the air con at a nice 23 Celsius, but it doesn’t seem to be doing much for me at the mo.

          • Terri Sutton

    • davefragments

      yes, you did.

      • stickfigurefairytales

        Hooray!

    • Howdy! Jump in the strange moist-dry heated water is fine!

      • stickfigurefairytales

        😀

  • I am going to go take some allergy meds and hope that knocks me out and when I wake up tomorrow my eye won’t hurt as much.

Alex, this scene was indeed “special” and I love it!

    • silibub

‘Night, Doki. Hope your eye feels better after you rest!

    • davefragments

take care. have a good night.

    • Rest well, Doki!

    • Terri Sutton

      Night Doki. Please feel better.

    • stickfigurefairytales

      Feel better soon, Doki! *hugs*

    • Feel better. Sleep well

    • That makes me happy to hear, Doki! Feel better!

  • Hi Youngsters. Made it to camp today, even though I’m not sure I’ll be able to stay long *yawns* This cold/flu is kicking my ass but I wanted to make it today as I didn’t make it to the two previous camps :-/

    • Terri Sutton

Hi Danish. Hope you feel better soon.

      • Me too. This started a week ago, even if it didn’t get bad-bad until mon/tuesday.

      • Me too. This started a week ago, even if it didn’t get bad-bad until mon/tuesday.

    • Terri Sutton

Hi Danish. Hope you feel better soon.

    • Morning Ms Wolf

    • silibub

Everyone’s plague-ridden this time of year. Hope you’re getting adequate rest and fluids.

      • Yeah, it was bound to happen when I was around a couple dozen runny noses (in the kindergarden) but it hit hard!

        • davefragments

Those little kids are just amazing tiny germ factories and WOW can they spread it.

          • Plague bringing mini-monsters… I say… germy little fingers trying to huge you. Eweeeeeee….. (ha)

          • Oh yes, especially two of them has been very much like that.
The youngest of them, the 3 year old, has been very adorable though. Every day she ask me what my name is, and every time I answer her respons is ‘why?’ xD
She’s not the only one though. At least it makes sense to them when I tell them it’s because my parents chose that name for me – even the ones I’ve told this more than once *lol*

      • Yeah, it was bound to happen when I was around a couple dozen runny noses (in the kindergarden) but it hit hard!

Hi Danish! I hope you feel better soon!

    • stickfigurefairytales

Hi Danish! I hope you feel better soon!

    • O-siyo, Danish! Always a pleasure to see you.

    • O-siyo, Danish! Always a pleasure to see you.

    • Kate G

D’awwwww, poor Danish. We need to get you some hot cocoa and some soup (or if you hate soup like me, some crackers and cheese. That’s my thing.) Oh, and some foot warmers, a nice cozy quilt, and a fluffy pillow!

And to think, I have Lupus and still haven’t caught any plagues yet. HUZZAH! *knocks three times on all of the walls…and wood*

      • Ooh.. that sounds good 🙂 I could use me some of that.
*Also knocks three times on wood for you not getting the plague*

        • Kate G

I’m in a perma-bubble so I doubt it. No one who’s sick is allowed in my house. You must be quarantined. I had bronchitis that nearly hospitalized me last year because some idiot (read: brother’s girlfriend) did not take said rule seriously and came into my house with undiagnosed pneumonia. She got a real tongue lashing (well, it’s a very terse lecture in my house) as I nearly broke a rib from coughing so hard.

My mom made me get the pneumonia shot this year to prevent last year. My arm hurt for days.

          • stickfigurefairytales

Oh geez, that’s terrible about you getting sick last year! What a moron that girlfriend was.

          • Kate G

Unfortunately, I’m stuck with her. I’m not very fond of her. She HATES any movie/show that has a grain of historical truth to it. In fact, she doesn’t even like MUSEUMS because the stuff in there is REAL. EXCUSE ME?! *eyebrow twitches* Oh, and she has zero personality. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH, I’m stuck with her for life. How do you like somebody who doesn’t know who Monet is? *rubs temples*

No, I’m not kidding. She does not know who Monet is. OR Van Gogh. What school doesn’t teach this?

      • *knocks on wood…meaning my head*

        • stickfigurefairytales

You’re made of wood? If I remember my Monty Python correctly, that means you’re a witch! BURN HER!

          • Haha! I always just found it worked better than actual wood. I suppose that still would make me a witch. Um…running away.

          • stickfigurefairytales

Get her! She turned me into a newt!

          • If you’re a newt you shouldn’t be able to speak… still running away

          • stickfigurefairytales

            …I got better.

          • Hahaha! Oh good laugh.

          • * ring ring *

            BRING OUT YOUR DEAD…

          • “I don’t want to talk to you no more, you empty-headed animal food trough wiper! I fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!

          • A newt???? Thank god it was not…. HA… A SHRUBBERY!

          • NI!

          • Now I have to ask the meaning behind that comment, because I don’t get it and for me ‘ni’ is the Danish way to say ‘nine’ .. or is it short for saying ‘night’ as in you’re sending him to bed?

          • The Knights who say Ni! It’s from Monty Python’s Holy Grail.

          • Ah. It’s been too long since I’ve sen that movie to get references.

        • Kate G

HA HA HA HA HA!!!! My head must be wood too as I’ve never broken it. Hee hee hee.

        • Related to Pinocchio, eh?

  • Holly

I’m in your comments camping your campers

    • Holly!

      • Holly

        AJ!

        • *Offers muffins in celebration*

          • I haven’t been hit by a muffin in ages… no FAIR!

          • *beans Chris in the head with a stale muffin*

          • Yayyyyy (I’ve been brought to this due to muffin hunger… tragic…)

          • Hahaha! Glad to be of service.

          • Evil Muffin Queen… that’s what you are.

          • Damn right!

          • Sheesh, he likes it. He just asked for it. He’s just trying to make you throw another one.

          • I know and so being the evil as he calls me, I withhold the stale muffins and throw a broken donut. 😀

          • D. Garrett

<—-*picks up muffins and feeds hungry pigeons.

          • I CURSE ADMIRAL JANE TO A FRITTERLESS EXISTENCE UNTIL SHE LEARNS HUMAN KINDNESS!

          • D. Garrett

          • Oh sure. “Go muffinless and you’ll know true suffering.”
            – Laampros, 1983

          • My throat just tried to have a great laugh. With my cold what came out was a bunch of weird, broken nasal sounds. Total laugh fail. Just imagine a laughed.

          • D. Garrett

awwww. sorry! but it made me chuckle. *oops!
            hope u feel better soon D. W..

          • Thank you, and chuckle away because I made myself go wtf? with it.

          • D. Garrett

            lol! ty!

          • And yet you keep returning for stale muffins.

          • davefragments

I gotta go food shopping tomorrow. Don’t make me think of food tonight. I’ll buy half the supermarket!

          • Either AJ got tired of throwing muffins all the time, or you haven’t been as much a bad boy lately 😉

          • My arms well rested!

          • Holly

            *eats fresh muffins*

    • davefragments

      Hi

    • stickfigurefairytales

      Hi Holly!

      • Holly

        HI STICKY

  • D. Garrett

whoa! i finally made camp. whoo hoo! hey everybody.

    • Hi!

      • D. Garrett

        heya!

    • stickfigurefairytales

      Welcome! How are things?

      • D. Garrett

        pretty good. ty. hru?

        • stickfigurefairytales

I’m good, but I’m getting pretty sleepy.

          • That’s just the dire effects of the be-spelled poppy field outside the Emerald City. Resist Sticky resist. Once clear you only have flying monkeys, a wicked witch, a smarmy old wizard and a rather clueless little girl with a terrier to deal with and THEN… you’re home free. Good luck Sticky… good luck!

          • D. Garrett

ummm. that long list will probably make her say fuq it! snooze time. just sayin…

          • stickfigurefairytales

Actually, a dog or cat would be a great way of distracting me from something. I would automatically go over to pet it.

          • Adam Black

My brain somewhere over your rainbow on “sticky …monkeys”

          • D. Garrett

drink some coffee? u gonna want to see this next page! i can feel it in my bones. battles about to begin!!!

          • silibub

My bet is that there’s at least another pre-battle page before the action really starts. Something along the lines of Kyle jogging back over to Fluke and fielding “What the hell was that all about?” questions, and ending with something like “Let’s do this/Ready? Ready.”

          • D. Garrett

damn! u might be right. didnt think of that.

          • silibub

Definitely still worth seeing, though, whatever it turns out to be!

          • D. Garrett

thats true. i keep forgetting to refresh the page. im not used to being a contender for the v-card.

          • silibub

I just painted my nails and I’m punching keys with my index fingers, so I’m out of the running, LOL.

          • stickfigurefairytales

            I think you’re right.

          • Steven K.

            My feeling as well.

          • stickfigurefairytales

Meh, I don’t really like coffee. Might get some tea or hot chocolate, though.

          • D. Garrett

i havent had coffee in quite a while. ive been drinking everything else but that. ha.

          • stickfigurefairytales

Just got myself some mint hot chocolate!

          • D. Garrett

yanno im gonna make me some hot chocolate too. good idea! i dont have mint but i have whipped cream!

          • stickfigurefairytales

You deserve some of the credit yourself for suggesting a hot drink to help wake me up.

          • D. Garrett

            ty.

          • davefragments

It’s one AM. If I think of coffee too much now, I’l spend the night doing the “B” cheer . . .
            giimme a B
            giimme a B
            giimme a B

            What does is spell?
blblblblblblblblblblblblb (stick fingers on lips and wiggle while say a very long B)

  • Holly

You know I am so happy that Mitch came out! Also I am proud of myself for not using camping as a forum to rant about stuff.

    YAY MITCH!

    • stickfigurefairytales

I’m so happy about that too! But I’m sorry that there is stuff that makes you want to rant over it.

      • Holly

        NOTHING TO DO WITH YP!!!!
My rant is life based. I am LOVING this arc

        • stickfigurefairytales

I figured that was the case. I’m loving this too!

        • Steven K.

I’m trying to remember – was it you who last year (perhaps) was having problems with the door or sign or something at some kiosk where you were working selling some sort of items? I know that’s a little vague – lol.

          • Holly

YES! THE DOOR FELL OFF! IT was heavy and i almost got hurt

          • Steven K.

Yes! I thought it was something like that – but I don’t remember exactly what was being sold at the kiosk. ;/

          • Holly

It was an engraving kiosk. We sold engraveable items. And the door of the kiosk had this HEAVY glass oval on the top with the name of the store etched in it. And that oval broke off.

          • stickfigurefairytales

I’m really glad you didn’t get hurt!

          • Holly

            I am resilient.

          • Steven K.

See – I knew there was a “sign” component (in this case the oval w/ the name of the store) to the story as well . Good thing you have armor plating.

          • Holly

It’s weird to think that was only last year…

        • Holly

for the record does anyone want to hear about my problems?

          • Adam Black

            yes.

I want to hear all of them. Spare no detail of pain and misery

          • Steven K.

            Or squalor.

          • Steven K.

“Gloom, despair, and agony on me –
            deep dark depression, excessive misery;
If it weren’t for bad luck I’d have no luck at all –
gloom despair and agony on me.”
(That’s from the “Hee-Haw” show of yore.)

          • Adam Black

I didnt even notice the quotes until you pointed it out.

          • Steven K.

And then (for something a bit more sophisticated) there’s Goethe:
            “Grim terror greets me as I wake at morn;
With bitter tears the light I shun,
Of yet another day whose course forlorn
Shall not fulfill one wish – not one!”

          • Steven K.

I’m game – got more than my share of my own – maybe hearing about someone else’s will provide a brief distraction from mine.

          • Steven K.

Especially if there’s more falling glass involved.

          • stickfigurefairytales

Sure, I would be happy to listen.

          • Holly

            1) My older brother has lived with my for almost 8 months and has NO JOB. He pays for NOTHING. I NEED TO MOVE OUT!
2)My “Apparently too hot to for me according to other people” boyfiend is thinking of re-enlisting in the Canadian Forces.
            3) My “Apparently too hot to for me according to other people” boyfiend just came out to me as bi and I am not coping well.
            4) Apparently my boyfriend is too hot for me…

          • Wait! I remember when your brother moved in and even back then you were worried about it.

Sorry about all the stuff with your boyfriend. And he’s not too hot for you.

          • Holly

My worries proved correct. Bright side, boyfriend is willing to be my roommie. I just can’t live in my condo because the rent is too high. *sigh*

          • stickfigurefairytales

            1) That’s awful, and he really does need to go.
            2) That’s also pretty awful, and I’m sorry.
            3) Well, being bisexual doesn’t necessarily mean that he wants to be with anyone else, unless he specifically said that he did.
            4) Screw everyone. If he likes you and you’re happy with him, it’s none of anybody’s business.

*hugs you* I’m sorry, Holly. That’s a lot to deal with all at once.

          • Holly

He has never indicated wanting anyone else, but too many mean whispers worries a person.

          • Steven K.

All the guys I’ve ever loved or really really really wanted have either been coupled already or found someone else before I ever had a chance or if they dated me a little they always dumped me for someone else before anything even got serious or physical. So I’d say you are still in good shape!

          • stickfigurefairytales

            This is true.

          • Adam Black

            How old is he?

            Here is my insolicited advice…
True bisexuality is more rare more with men than women. Most guys lean more one way or another.

If hes young , it may be a steppingstone to coming out gay.

Seriously, go buy a strap-on and top him.
( insist on it ) . You dont want him to feel he has needs you either cant, or wont fullfill.

A lot of Bi men are tops with women but bottoms for men ( and thats a recipe for cheating ) .

          • Holly

He has indicated that he has no interest in me pegging him. He’s 21. And he has told me that he feels he leans more toward liking women than men, but he still identifies as bi.

          • I’ll weigh in here as well, Holly, and say that my experience is very different than Adam’s. I’ve known lots of “true bisexual” guys (and women) who can fall in love with and be turned on by both guys and gals. It’s true that for a lot of gay guys, particularly those north of 30, calling themselves “bisexual” at first felt a lot safer than calling themselves “gay” — because at least you were then “half-normal.” I did that for a couple years myself (when I was 15 and 16) and the truth was I wasn’t attracted to women at all.

But here’s another story: when I was in college, a very good friend of mine came out to me as bisexual — and I was the first guy he told. And I didn’t believe him. I was so sure calling himself “bisexual” was, as Adam put it, a “stepping stone”. And, in an attempt to make his “inevitable” coming out as a gay man feel supported, I let him know what I thought. We had a few strained conversations about it, until one day he burst into tears and confronted me: “Why can’t you just accept what I’m telling you? Why can’t you just accept me the way I am?”

And I realized that I was being a total dick to my very good friend when he really needed me. What I was doing was just as bad as all the straight folk who had told me that my attraction to guys was “just a phase” because they thought they knew better.

I don’t know your bf, so I can’t say what’s really in his heart. What I will say three things: 1) There is a lot of prejudice against bisexuals from both gays and straights — and a lot of it about annihilating who they are. 2) Not every gay or bisexual guy needs something up their butt to be happy in love. 3) And there are lots of people on this planet who are capable of being attracted to both genders and yet will be very, very happy and fulfilled being with only one person monogamously.

I’m sorry to hear you’re going through a rough time. I hope things work out the way you’d like with your bf and finding a new place. Feel free to reach out to me if you’d like. And there’s no way this guy is too hot for you, because you’re awesome. 🙂

          • Steven K.

This could make you feel better – maybe – at least you have one that you can still call a bf. I’ve been gay ever since I can remember, and now I’m a half-century old and in all that time I’ve never had even one real bf – never any sort of requited loving/romantic relationship. As long as he’s not “being bi” (or relating with the same gender) during the time he’s involved with you, would that be OK? Maybe that refers to some earlier experiences in his life? Maybe he “experimented” earlier, but then found you and then didn’t feel he needed to do so anymore, since he found what he was searching for.

          • Holly

He and his father aren’t talking he would never tell me why. Finally he revealed because his dad does not accept he’s bi.

          • Steven K.

Hmmmm …well, in that case, if you DO, and support him in that notion, esp. when his own father doesn’t, he’ll love you all the more for that and being supportive, etc.

          • stickfigurefairytales

            *hugs Steven*

        • Adam Black

          My life is rant-based .

    • And I love that you’re here, Holly!

  • Steven K.

So – does anyone think Kyle is going to next run up to Paul and Paul is going to ask: “What the hell – oops! Sorry! – …umm…what the frig was all that about??” ?

    • Steven K.

And Kyle: “uhh … Mitch was just telling me he wants to top me ….errrr…no! – I mean…that he has my back.”

  • If campers want to make their own real-life hot cocoa, Vero has been having some Internet trouble so the page update is at least 15 minutes away. Hopefully not much more than 30 minutes, though… 🙂

    • silibub

Thanks for the update — is your computer on the mend?

      • It’s been sent off to the Apple Mothership. So I’m still at 50%, working on a borrowed computer, but hopefully by next week all will be back to normal. 🙂

        • stickfigurefairytales

          Fingers crossed for you!

        • silibub

That’s good! It’ll be a relief to be working with your usual equipment again.

    • Terri Sutton

This computer trouble thing seems to be catching.

    • OK! Now that so many has mentioned hot cocoa, I can’t resist anymore. I need a cup and luckily have a little left 🙂

      • Holly

Unrelated to Vero’s computer problems, but at my job we get UNLIMITED TEA, COFFEE, and COCOA for the cost of 4 dollars every two weeks

        • stickfigurefairytales

          THAT’S AWESOME!!

          • Holly

We also get treats on non-pay Fridays. This week was Pizza. It is not always pizza. Treat day is a suprise and a crap shoot.

We also get cake on the last wednesday of the month.

          • stickfigurefairytales

            Nice!

          • Steven K.

Sounds like several steps up from the engraving-kiosk-of-doom.

          • Holly

I get yelled at by spoiled New Yorkers.

          • davefragments

They yell at the least little thing.

          • Steven K.

I think if it’s NY you are entitled or empowered to yell back, no?

          • Holly

I am not from NY, I just do customer service for new york. Because Canadians are nice

    • stickfigurefairytales

      I’ve got mine!

    • D. Garrett

    • stickfigurefairytales

      Hi Gryphon!

      • Hey Stick! How’s it going around the campsite?

        *looks around* Technical difficulties?

        • stickfigurefairytales

Not on the Disqus end as far as I know, but some trouble for Vero. Other than that, things are going well!

          • Well, I hope it gets better for Vero…and Alex too for that matter, computer-wise.

          • stickfigurefairytales

            Me too!

    • D. Garrett

hey gryphon. is your name from mona lisa awakening by sunny?

    • Evening, Gryphon!

  • *Back with hot cocoa* Damn, didn’t add enough cocoa powder.
*Spots chocolate calendar on the table* Heey, I didn’t take yesterdays’ and today’s piece yet. This might do *adds to cup*.. yum~

    • Started getting your stuff…but not all of it. Going to take inventory tomorrow and report back!

      • Yay! Yeah, I think it’s being sent out as they get it collected + prints are always sent seperate.

        • They send them in a tube, right?

          • Yes, as far as I know. Only poster I’ve ever got was sent in a huge flat envelope back when Em and CC sent out themself (it’s been that long since I got a poster), but I’m pretty sure I read that SR send them in tubes.

OK, a bit off topic, but what an awesome email! I loved Alex’s latest newsletter – the quote, and his musings on it are very thought provoking [not to mention, since I do post music online, I know the feeling of receiving non-constructive criticism].

Thanks so much for sharing 🙂

    • I’m glad you enjoyed that. Thank you so much for letting me know. 🙂

    • xLizardx

I was just about to say! Yet another sound-bite worthy email 😀 Absolutely agree that attitude is the basis of attractiveness – and also, Spooky looks perfectly healthy to me. Not overweight, just like he maybe has better things to do than spend 6 hours in a gym every day, which seems perfectly reasonable. Charm is more important than massively muscley arms, lol, and he certainly has that quality in abundance.
