So! Seems like Tsunami doesn’t like their chances against The Annihilator and The Platinum Priestess. But what does Spooky think about that? And what does Commander mean by “We’ll do what we have to do”?

Tune in this Wednesday to find out! Hope to see you there! 😀

  • 7?

    • Bah just missed 😉

      • And I have my 7th V ^_^

      • Psst psst starr….we had the page all to ourselves for 4 minutes…..it was just you, me and the team! *eyebrow wiggle thing*

        • What a glorious 4 minutes it was too… ^V^

  • stickfigurefairytales

But now the iScry is buffering…

  • stickfigurefairytales

I think Sofia’s right about Tsunami being the second in command. He definitely sounds like it here.

  • Sarah314159

Y’all had some fun drawing beefcake in this one…. 😀

  • I have to admit I like Spooky’s comment….But you are still planning for that option. Just in case. Us in the fight. Not the dying, so much.

  • Amanda sure is pragmatic. Tsunami seems to like to follow the rules just so. Or is he more the lover instead of a fighter?

    • SofiaT

In the cheatsheet he is described as the most cautious member in the team. I find nothing wrong with that, I quite like Tsunami’s modus operandi. 🙂

      • That would explain the hesitancy to join the fight. He’s thinking of all the worse case possibilities and not liking any of them. I can understand that.

        • SofiaT

Some would call him a pessimist, I call him a realist.
Knowing your limits is good. It means you get to live to fight another day -Tsunami is not making the mistake of underestimating the enemy.

          • But at the same time I wonder if he’s underestimating the effectiveness of himself and the team. Sometimes you do have to jump into the fight no matter what the odds. 🙂

          • SofiaT

In every comic book and fantasy book I’ve ever read, the hero(es) go against impossible odds and win. But usually because something that happened at just the right time -a stroke of luck, a deus ex machina. The hero can’t lose after all, good has to always win in the end!

But Tsunami stresses “this is real life”. In real life you can’t bet on impossible odds, and expect to get out of it unscathed. The Young Protectors are no cowards and will do what needs to be done -but it’s easy for us to say, knowing they’re the heroes of this story. I respect Tsunami for keeping a cool head. He is not underestimating the team’s capabilities, he’s just not overestimating them either.

He doesn’t have the advantage that we have, knowing that it will be all right in the end -and if it’s not alright, then it’s not the end 😉

          • I wouldn’t ever dream of thinking the team or even Tsunami as coward, but his extreme caution—because even the Commander sees the possibility of having to do more than just act as a delay—is what made me wonder if Tsunami is more lover than fighter. He’ll fight if he has to, but I’m thinking it’s not necessarily in his nature to find the fight.

And there is nothing wrong with such a nature. Water isn’t a fighting element. Water stays the course, it slowly wears things down, finds ways around obstacles.

That is unless something causes it to rage. Of course if such is the case with Tsunami, he may be very aware of that side of himself and also a possibility for the caution, because when water rages it’s damn destructive.

          • SofiaT

            I like the water analogy.
Tsunami’s disposition matches his powers. Like it a lot!

          • Klaus

            Considering his name …

          • True.

          • Archidel

You’re obviously not from the Netherlands. Water not a fighting element? With about 60% of the country being below sea level, water is the enemy here, with whom we are embroiled in a never ending war.

Though admittedly, most of the time it’s more of a matter of shoring up the defenses than an active struggle. So in that respect you are right, I suppose.

          • No, not from the Netherlands. Just dry as dirt Southern California. Where flash floods can happen because we get a rare down pour of rain, falling too quickly for the land to absorb it. Or landslides from an area recently burned because there is no vegetation to hold the soil in place.

Water goes where it’s usually easiest to go. If it’s blocked, it builds up until a path is found (whether it’s own or one given to it). If there is someplace lower for it to go, that’s where it’ll go. That’s the nature of water unless a storm or an earthquake stirs it up. Or a dam breaks freeing it from captivity.

          • Archidel

Very true. Every region has its own troubles. Southern California probably more so than the Netherlands, actually. Despite the constant threat of flooding (either from the sea or one of the many rivers that culminate in what is after all also known as the Low Countries for a reason), the last major flood around here was decades ago. Out of necessity we have become very good at curtailing the flow of water.

Floods are also just about the only thing to worry about around here. California on the other hand… You guys have wildfires, droughts, flash floods, landslides and of course Mr. San Andreas.

You also have snakes, bears, cougars, venomous spiders and the occasional scorpion. Oh, and killer bees, though their danger seems to be more hype than fact. Well, unless you’re allergic of course, in which case even common bees are dangerous.

The most dangerous wildlife around here is the common European viper, whose bites, while reportedly excruciatingly painful, are not typically fatal and may not even require treatment. Also, rare. I’m 32 now and have spend ample time out in nature, yet have never even seen one.

          • Archidel

Ah, but do we know that it will be alright in the end?

It certainly used to be the case that in an ongoing series you could count on the major characters surviving. Then “A Song of Ice and Fire”/”Game of Thrones” happened and kicked that expectation squarely in the nuts.

Now, obviously Alex Woolfson is not George RR Martin, so it’ll probably be alright, but these days you just can’t be sure anymore.

          • SofiaT

You’re right, every very author has his own style obviously and if all books were the same then it would be boring. Although I would argue that while George RR Martin’s style is a bit (*cough*) more bloody than usual, The Song of Ice and Fire is not over yet. And I have a good idea about who will be the one left standing in the end. Everyone else, likeable or unlikeable, is just secondary characters; it just wasn’t obvious in the beginning and all the killings took us by surprise. But this was never about Ned Stark, or Rob Stark or Kal Drogo. So I’d say, even Martin seems to adhere by the rule that you don’t kill your main character before he beats the monsters… he just hasn’t explicitly let us know who that main character is yet. 😉
Btw, the last book in the series already has a title: Dreams of Spring. It’s a pretty hopeful title 🙂

As for TYP -because I got completely out of track there for a moment- we already know it’s gonna be alright in the end because Alex promised so! http://webcomics.yaoi911.com/archive/ete-ch2-page-32/ 😀

P.S: Btw, I thought this was funny: http://www.amazon.com/People-George-Martin-Bumper-Sticker/dp/B00EN34U9W/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?tag=ohmy0c-20

          • Madock345

Out of curiosity, who *do* you think the main aSoIaF character is? I can think of three good candidates.

          • SofiaT

*SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN’T READ THE BOOKS*

Jon Snow. I bet my right hand (I’m left-handed :p) that he’s the Prince that Was Promised. Too many hints peppered throughout the books point to his true parentage. Martin could be trying to direct our attention there, of course, on purpose, while he blindsides us with another possible candidate in the end, but Martin is a good author. Which means he would lead up to a great revelation, not bring an unknown character in at the last minute and make him the focus of the story, completely out of the blue. The evidence that Jon Snow is the key to the story, is overwhelming yet subtle enough for people to miss it if they don’t pay enough attention. That’s the mark of a good author for me.

I think in the end, Dainerys will join Jon in fighting the Others and she will die while doing so, reuniting with Khal Drogo and her son in afterlife. I don’t know what will happen to the second head of the dragon, the boy who may or may not be Aegon Targaryen (I have my doubts), but I’m pretty sure Jon is the third. Mormont’s raven kept calling Jon “King!” and I initially thought it meant he has royal blood in him. But what if the raven saw the future and told him what he would become?

That said, after the Others have been defeated, Jon Snow could totally die, true GRR Martin style.

          • Klaus

Tsunami does not know that they they have the author on their side.

          • bobbyjoeguy

That’s true, but a good writer will kill off a character if it furthers the plot and Alex is a good writer…

      • Elrohir

CAUTION:This observation may be a bit too somber for some.

Okay…so I’m going with the concept that Tsunami as the second to the Commander is much in the role of the Master Sergeant to the Lieutenant or Captain. It’s his job to see to the day to day drills. His job to instill the instinctual reactions that will shave seconds off of response time and perhaps save a life. But the reality of that job is that all too often, you lose green recruits in their first battle. Especially going up against “stone cold killers”. Rescue has its own risks and dangers, but combat is another thing altogether. Human nature is that frequently the recruit hesitates the first time they have to kill, and in the moment of hesitation, the more experienced opposite will take advantage.
I think that Tsunami’s response is a good one. The response of experience. The response, perhaps, of somebody who has trained recruits who have been lost in their first real battle and who knows the risk that it will happen again. Or possibly the response of every family member who has ever sent a son off to war.
It is the reality of teenagers. Especially, if you’ll allow the sexist observation, of teenage males. Testosterone and youth. A heady combination. That convinces every child that they are immortal (they seem to reach a different realization at about age 25) and until they are at least 18 they are bullet proof too.
I think what Alex has done here is to put a significant dose of reality into Tsunami’s reaction. This is real life.
**Apologies if this post came across a little too somber, it’s just how Tsunami’s character struck me**

  • Pikinanou

yay early update! at least, from where im from 🙂
and I’m already eager to find out what happens next.

  • Saxon_Brenton

See, they’re being flexible. Even Tsunami has gone from ‘we’re not doing that’ to ‘we’ll delay them until the military the military gets there, and only if it’s necessary’. Fluke just needs to be more persistent. I’m sure he can wear Tsunami down eventually 😛

  • Ah, made it up this morning just in time for the update. I like how Spooky is so focused on the task ahead. He don’t use energy on something he know will be sorted out 🙂

    • Saxon_Brenton

And yet he can multitask enough to keep track of the conversation and make facetious comments.

    • Morning Danish sweet! Want a popsicle?

  • SofiaT

I can’t vouch for Sircea but I doubt Duncan is a “stone cold killer”.
Still, I’m sure he would like that he’s being described as such and has worked hard to earn the reputation.

    • silibub

Yeah, that got me wondering — there’s a definite discrepancy between what Tsunami’s saying and what Kyle said back when Spooky and Fluke came to get him. Fluke was like “He’s killed people,” and Kyle said, “Never on purpose!” and I’m curious as to where Kyle got that impression — from Duncan himself, or from the research Kyle did before the date from hell? I wonder how much of Duncan’s apparently terrifying reputation is based on his actual actions, and how much is the result of fear/exaggeration. (Maybe the Kickstarter dossier will give us some insight if the comic hasn’t by the time it’s released.)

I don’t know about Sircea, either. I have the impression that she’s not as ambivalent about her villainy as Duncan, but if Duncan’s reputation is a bit inflated then hers might be, too.

      • SofiaT

We know too little about Sircea to be able to make any kind of educated guesses at this point, but I will agree with you. That’s the impression I’ve been given as well.

As for Duncan, I don’t doubt he is capable of killing those who he believes are worth it. I also don’t doubt that he could have caused the death of innocents as accidental casualties in the past. He would also defend himself with whatever means possible -Duncan comes first. To the eyes of a hero, that would make him a cold blood murdered; but we know things are rarely so black and white.

  • Saxon_Brenton

Okay, the donations bar was annoying me. So I put it out of its misery. (No, seriously, it was mocking us all: dropping its pants and wagging its backside at us. It deserved to die.)

    • Thank you very much, Saxon! 🙂

    • Elrohir

Okay…so clearly it’s not a Celtic donation bar or it would have been lifting its kilt and wagging its backside at us. 🙂
      **Sorry…couldn’t resist**

  • Heh

Commander looks so badass with her red rocking lipstick, fierce eyes and just the determination that comes out of her like and aura of something. She didn’t need to be a part of the discussion – She is planning for either possibility. I guess that is an ability that comes when you spend too much time in other person head – and one that suits a commander. So yeah, big yay for panel 4.

On a totally unrelated note, and this will sound a little weird, but tsunami nipples are very beautiful. Well drawn and detailed, even when its just a small tsunami in the back. I know its just nipples, but i’ve seem some artists that didn’t care at all for their existence and simply didn’t draw them, and that made me oh so sad. 🙁

    • We care. Oh, yes, we most certainly care.

      • Heh

I can’t say thank you enought for that, sir.

  • Sapfo

I’m a little disappointed. We’ve got a few pages into the original story and Tsunami still have not hugged someone. Well, maybe they are waiting for the big action scene for that to happen.

They talk a lot on this page too, but there is one person who has been very quiet (except for the young master Mitch) and that is Kyle. He stays out of it. I really do wonder what is on his mind.

    Care to tell us, Alex?

Adam DeKraker, it was fun reading his comment on the other page.

Thank you all three of you!

    • Heh

They totally should appear more in the comments section. I would love that! *sparkles*

      • Sapfo

It would be fun. But it might take to much out of their own time to do so. I will enjoy it when it happen.

    • Morning Sapfo sweet!

      • Sapfo

        Good morning Doki!

        Strawberries?
        (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

        • Thank you! Banana? *giggle*

          • Sapfo

            Oh no! My one weakness!

  • TwilightDreamer

…why did I just picture some of the boys breaking orders to enter the fight later…?
XD lol, naaa…but anxious to see where they end up and what happens…I get the feeling another big shock/surprise is coming our way….XD

  • Cydney Sabin

A great thing to see just before bedtime: The YP boys’ adorable faces. *insert various emojis and emotes here*

  • fujoshifanatic

Awesome couple of pages, TYP team! Love the art on these pages; I second Heh’s comments on Commander’s face and Tsunami’s nipples, and would like to add the loving detail paid to the, er, below the waist areas in panel one as well. Very well done! 😛 I almost forgot to read the dialog there, since there was so much else to look at! Speaking of dialog, it’s interesting to see Tsunami be the voice of reason here. I always got the vibe from him that he was “above the fray” of the other boys’ antics, even if he has a “Hulk, smash!” kind of physique. It will be interesting to see him in battle–if it comes to that, as he would say.

  • Madock345

Dammit, I just keep waiting for someone to explain how Flyboy’s powers work… The way he’s flying the plane has me very curious to know more.

I’m also impressed with how quickly Spooky is narrowing down locations. I have no idea what parameters are involved in trying to determine which dark magic ritual is the right one, but I get the feeling it’s much more difficult than he’s making it look.

    • Elrohir

You know I was wondering about the way Mitch is flying the plane too. So, in order to move it the way he does (or like the car when he flew the boys to rescue Kyle) it seems he has to be in contact with the object (when he lost his concentration and let go of the car it fell). So it’s not just mental. But then it occurred to me that he must, in some way, be able to overcome the inertia of the object as well. Not mass or gravity I think as all the passengers and objects in the plane appear to respond normally. But somehow it’s inertia is overcome so that he can move it, and himself, at speed. I think. But it’s just a first stab. If you spot any holes in the idea please speak up. 🙂

      • Klaus

If he had been sitting in the car wearing his safety belt, he would not have lost contact.

        • Elrohir

Yeah, having had the ergonomic folks go through my office I have an adjustable desk and spend part of my office time (the little that I’m there) standing. But if the plane had to make crazy maneuvers (as the multi point harnesses on the seats a couple of pages back would indicate) wouldn’t Mitch do better in a flight couch with a multi point harness? He only has to be in contact with the object, yes? Or has Alex some other trick that I missed? If the Commander or Tsunami took over, wouldn’t they need more of a flight couch kind of set up? Just wondering….

          • Elrohir

Just had a flash…I think I was thinking of the kind of seat they used in the movie “Flight of The Navigator”

    • Adam Black
  • N7

Gotta love Spooky’s spunk and that slight smirk.

  • davefragments

Alex, think about that last line Spooky says.
Earlier he has 50 sites and now he repeats basically the same information — too many sites. I don’t know how the pages stack up next but that line keeps repeating in my mind. It’s like a bad batch of kielbasi and sauerkraut. Or that pasta Aglio and Olio right before midnight. You need another piece of information or another way of sating the same thing.
You see, he says he forty or fifty sites on page 32 and here, up in the air, I think that he should add more information, he’s eliminated all the sites back east or they are closer than he thought or they are north of the plane, or halfway around the world. Maybe he says that in the next page but then that leaves this line to be the middle of three statements.
Now I could be wrong because I do this all the time when I write and I’m a little sensitive to it. So maybe it’s OK and tonight I’m overcritical.

    • Klaus

I don’t see it that way at all. He is making steady progress.

      • Elrohir

Yup…I’m in with Klaus on this one. I think he’s telling her the number of sites he has left to sort through. Down from the original starting point. And as he directs Mitch to head in a specific direction it’s allowing him to exclude more and more sites until he finds “the” location.

        • Mary Klemzak

It’s hard to be witty when you’re hunting down baddies. I assume it takes quite a bit of energy, using mind and whatever to track down 1 set location. He’s doing his best.

*gives Spooky all her mental and emotional energy*

          • Sanbai

*volunteers to give Spooky something else*

        • SofiaT

Spooky’s line is also a direct reply to Amanda’s comment that they need to find them first before deciding on what action to take. He is confirming he’s getting closer.

So he’s not just repeating himself (which I don’t think he’s done anyway), his line is there for a specific reason.

    • Spooky did say that he would be able to eliminate a lot once they got airborne.

  • Elrohir

Side note…just curious…was I the only one who, when the “real life” comment got made, had a flashback to the conversation in “E.T.”
“Why don’t they just beam him up to the ship?”
    “This is REALITY Greg!”
**Of course, it could just be me.**

  • Adam Black

When did Tsunami get appointed Team leader?

Between his discomfort with the ghey and him not wanting the job of full Hero, I could see him quitting the team. We can reasonably expect after this , YP is a full Team. Not just search-and rescue.

I am sure there are many fire departments that will take him

    • I believe he’s second in command-ish.

      • Adam Black

They got MInd, Spirit, Air, Fire Water and LUck.

        but no Earth power

        • I suppose not. Maybe eventually there will be another member?

          • Adam Black

            Lets nominate someone

          • Who?

          • Do you have some free time for the job? You’ve already got the kewl cape and the super name! 🙂

          • Don’t make me fall off the chair laughing! Besides, I’m a little old for the team.

          • Elrohir

With all due respect to the Admiral’s assessment of her fit for the team; nonsense! Your courage and poise are timeless.

          • Awww! Thanks Elrohir!

        • Dakejev

*sets you on fire for using that reference* =p

          • Adam Black

        • Mary Klemzak

Anyone think Commander looks like Gaia??

That show was the bomb. So many great episodes.

          Thanks for the reference.

Discuss is not easy to search. A Google search for tsunami deputy leader young protectors brings up this:

The Young Protectors: Engaging The Enemy Chapter Three …

af Alex Woolfson – i 136 Google+ cirkler29/11/2013 – Donate For An Extra Page of The Young Protectors. A good reader suggestion here: …… Tsunami is the deputy leader. I don’t remember exactly …

      With as picture of Alex.

But clicking on the link does not lead to this comment. There are 1533 comments on the page. Maybe clicking on Load more comments many times will bring to the comment. I ran out of patience before getting there.

      • Adam Black

        just keep trying!

        Heroes dont give up

  • Mary Klemzak

Who wants to argue with a big guy who controls the freaking wind?

Not me. I live in Iowa for Pete’s sake!

    • Sanbai

      But Tsunami controls water…?

      • Mary Klemzak

Fine so I’m a dumbass. Sorry if I can’t tell things right away. Been having too many senior moments lately.

        *crawls away to cry*

        • Elrohir

Nah…you’re not…perhaps you were just swapping it with Typhoon? My head does stuff like that sometimes. Even when I know that I know better.

          • Mary Klemzak

Thanks. Just feeling older and dumber as the days go by. I can’t spare any more brain loss.

            *sighs*

At least I’m calmer now. Thanks for being nice. *hugs*

Given the awesomeness that is Spooky and Commander – that Tsunami is second-in-command makes his powers and maturity pretty awesome as well and I think that reflects in his responsible nature – he’s being the dad. He wants to do the right thing but keep his team safe.

Keeping in touch with the reality of the situation is what a team leader (or 2nd in command does). Good Team Leaders such as the Commander keeps their 2nd in command in the loop, so that they can carry out the plan if something happens to them. Tsunami may be many things – but stupid is not one of them.

Yeah he was uncomfortable with gay porn of his TYP family, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that that it was the ‘gay’ part of the porn that was the one and only thing making him uncomfortable. There are some people that wouldn’t let the people they are responsible look at porn when they’re under age, nor want to look at porn made with their own images.

Certainly I know I would NOT want to look at any sort of porn either gay or straight made with my face on it. (Porn is fantasy, and putting me in it is getting to close to a nasty reality). Eeuw!

I do think we don’t Tsunami enough to know his actual feelings about the gay – and I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until I know him better.

So I don’t think he will be leaving anytime soon.

    • A2MOM

Very very well said you put my thoughts into words exactly.

    • fujoshifanatic

ITA with you Kiri–Tsunami is being the Papa Bear of his team. He doesn’t want anyone to be unnecessarily hurt in this confrontation, and so he is acting as the voice of reason, even if it makes him sound like a bit of a thrill-kill to some of the others. And we really don’t know what part of the gay porn icked him out so badly. it could very well be that it was because it was porn made with people he knew, rather than the gay part of it so much. I know that if I ever ran into porn of someone I knew personally (especially people I did not think of in a sexual context), it would be jarring to say the least, and outright lady-boner killing in the worst case scenario. I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt once they are done talking business and can move on to more personal discussion (hi Kyle, keeping so quiet there!).

  • A2MOM

I would like to know how long that first panel took to draw and color, it is just incredible. The body language alone is perfectly in character and the background of the ship’s interior is well detailed but not overwhelming. That short speech Tsunami makes needed to be said and it’s intriguing that while they are soaring away among the clouds, he’s bringing them literally back to Earth with his words.

I can’t wait to see what The Annihilator and Platinum Priestess look like younger, too.

  • Lindsey Amethyst Hampton

Drawing Tsunami must be such a pain in the ass. Thank you for doing it, anyway, because he is gorgeously lickable.

  • Sanbai

    So much…Tsunami… *fans self*

  • Wayne Lunkwitz

Need fewer choices please narrow it down to one .

  • Toli Bera

*Points out the window* Is that them? (/ >.>)- with the big scary magical thingy?

  • bronakopdin

tension is building more and more…

I actually don’t have much to say about this page, it would be pretty much the same as last page 🙂

still agreeing with Tsunami’s evaluation, and it seems even Paul got the message now, I actually really hope that they won’t need to spring into action >_>’

I couldn’t handly to see anyone hurt right now…

    • Klaus

Hope springs eternal, but I think it is a safe bet that they will get directly involved in the fight.

      • bronakopdin

yeah I guess so actually ^^’

but you know, my given name actually MEANS hope, so… xD

  • Adam Irving

Just noticed how Kyle looks a bit older than he did in a few of the first panels. I mean, they’re all pretty young – Young Protectors and all – but Kyle especially seems to have been, um, aged a bit by his experience? And please don’t take this as either a critique of either the art now or in the beginning! I’ve loved it all all the way through…

    • Kiri

He can’t go through what he’s been through without it changing him. And being quiet seems about right too.

  • purplefoxglove

That moment when you completely forgot that it has already been Saturday, check your mails, and see the update notification mail.

    ROCKS.

  • WARNING: A TLDR POST…

Alex, Adam and Veronica, thank you. Once again you combine the detail, composition, the body language, expressions and dialog to emotionally illuminate each character and forward the plot. Great stuff.

I love that each character is true and passionate to their own nature. Commander is focused on the big picture and all the details, while keeping each of them moving and making sure no one’s emotion takes them off course.

IMHO… Amanda knows what Spooky knows about Kyle. So, she knows all-ish. Regarding her powers and Kyle’s history in the group, and given what we just saw in the Bonus, I’ll bet Amanda was a big part of why Kyle is the nice stable emo-healthy all around kid he is today. She is a rock with a big heart. I can’t imagine that she didn’t know what a younger Kyle’s inner story was. Even if she did her best to stay out of his mind. Being gay JUST HAD TO LEAK OUT AROUND HIS EDGES… but she never betrayed HIS inner secret. It’s HIS life to explore and she respected it, but I can’t believe she didn’t do whatever she could to provide him with family and the love and support a big sister would (okay, I don’t know, but that’s what I want to believe).

I love that the bonus comic showed us a special side of her. Now I read her as THE COMMANDER with such greater depth. This is a lady who KNOWS her boys. I’ll bet she’s heard speeches like this from Tsunami before every mission. I’ll bet they all have. I just like Amanda all the way around.

I also appreciate Tsunami airing real practical concerns. It’s hard to know what he understands about Kyle’s violation or trauma (or Spooky’s past for that matter). Tsunami’s a worrier and a detail guy (every team needs one). He may not understand that for some of his team-mates this is about a monster… and for them it’s about “not letting the monsters” win. So it’s very personal. Kyle would die to make this right. I’ll be interested to know how Tsunami will feel when/if he get’s the big picture. Or maybe he knows, but that doesn’t change how he gets ready for a mission??? I’m guessing and I’m looking forward to knowing more.

I must say I loved Admiral Jane and others who commented on the fact that a Water power might very well affect the personality that goes with it. I’m not sure I could make the correlations between every team member and their power and personality, but it’s still really fun to think about. It makes one think about all those elemental ideas (some were explored in comments below), such as the idea that water is not “instantly” the most destructive element, but given time and persistence it may be one of the most powerful ones (i.e. rivers, Grand Canyon, glaciers… tsunamis…). So, fun to think about.

    T. may be the #2 guy on the team only because Spooky doesn’t wish to be. I can imagine that Spooks is happy to let Tsunami be the serious detail guy. I like that T. worries out-loud and makes sure it clear what they’re rushing into. Rather like a pedantic but very helpful school marm briefing the hasty kids who will run into it headlong anyway. They may not appreciate it in the moment, but for those who tend to have more passion than practicality, I’ll bet they look back on Tsunami with a lot of affection. How could you not love someone who’s concerned about everyone’s well-being and safety. That’s why teams have all types. All the different passions are needed.

I LOVE that one little line from Spooky in P#2. He’s been mono-focused on that iScry, seeming like he’s not listening, but with one tiny line he does five things. 1) Shows he and Amanda are entirely in sync, 2) shows that he’s paying attention to every word of what’s being said (Spooky is the “don’t let the Monsters win guy.” But, he inserts himself into this moment so subtly and gently that he in no way steps on Tsunami or makes anyone feel bad, 3) “not the dying so much.” in spite of the stakes of the mission (erm… the world???) he inserts a little Spooky humor reminding everyone it’s okay to be happy even in serious moments. 4) by saying this line he lets the VERY quiet (and probably very tense) Kyle know that he (Spooks) understands how important this is to Kyle, The Commander does also, and that Kyle doesn’t have to worry… THEY WILL DO THE RIGHT THING… one way or the other.

I love the way Amanda responds to Tsunami… it really shows how well she knows him. Calms him and yet she answers as the boss. So deftly done. You can see her experience and authority show.

A little art and composition lurve. Framing shots like P#1 this well is like watching great cooks working in a long narrow galley kitchen. That first panel is a masterful master shot. Showing us the long narrow space that is the jet and giving us a really beautiful view of all our characters and where they are in space and emotionally. This is the type of composition that gives cinematographers grey hair. Big applause to all those readers who already A+++’d Tsunami’s nipples. It’s hard to do nipple well in still images and in moving 2D animation almost impossible to keep them from “floating around” from frame to frame. Tsunami’s are things of beauty and that’s in a jet full of things of beauty. I’d be staring and saying… “erm.. what?” a lot and then Tsunami would have to grump and (T. points at own eyes) “Excuse me… DANGERFIELD?… my eyes are up here!” Wooops. I must say I love @alexwoolfson:disqus’s comment, “We care. Oh, yes, we most certainly care.” HA! Perfect.

Love that final panel from the reverse angle. Alex (fill-the-page) Woolfson strikes again… Just Mitch’s hand reminding us that he’s constantly using his power with those deceptively simple looking columns and continually piloting us. In addition, despite Spooky’s ability to multitask and listen, he’s also narrowing their target options… exactly as The Commander… erm… commanded.

Even though he’s not featured on this page, I love Paul’s passion. That’s why a 17 year old has smart colleagues around him to focus that energy and keep him safe while he matures, and while getting the value of that passion. I do really like believing that a good part of it is that his best buddy was deeply hurt (a few hours ago) and he’s pissed off about it.

Sometimes that’s what we all need most from a BF (an evil teacher, horrible boss, contrary parent treats us badly) and a friend is one who just loves us and says, “You are wonderful and they are evil and must die.” And then, ironically, you find yourself defending the person you were bad-mouthing two minutes ago. LOL. We all need those loyal friends.

Alex, I also really like that you’ve let Kyle be so quiet and internal during all this. Over the last few weeks I re-read the whole comic (the bonus put me in the mood) and Kyle must be so very full of emotion. The gay and coming out — huge energy involved — the Duncan experience from joy to terror on a level that non-heroes can’t imagine. The responsibility to admit to yourself that you ARE young and foolish and you made a world risking mistake, simply due to your naivety. And the ego crush that comes with the knowledge that this man you seriously desired, used you and tossed you aside in the harshest way. Not easy on anyone’s ego. That’s hard even if you’re ten years older and experienced in dating and relationships.

As a closeted, scared kid taking your first risk, it must have been shattering. So having just re-read all of it and all that followed… I think it makes perfect sense that he’s very quiet just now and very internal in these pages. People commit suicide over real-life versions of these emotions and events. The fact that he’s functioning and determined, even if quiet, is a real testament to the kids toughness, the support he has in his team, and nicely portrayed in these pages.

Thanks so much guys. This is just an awesome journey with real heart. I keep waiting for Spooky to say… “GOT ‘EM!” Well, I’m on the edge of my seat. Go TYP!

Real-life note: For those who doubted that I was going to give the buttons away… HA… my nephew GOT his YP button-set for his ninth birthday and was totally amazed. He’s a superhero geek and was entirely confused about what book / movie(s) they were from. When I explained that the book and movie(s) are not even out yet… and NO ONE has these yet. I became the coolest Uncle ever. Unlike my fake geekness… he knows every hero’s name and powers throughout the multiverse (well the multi-verse of a nine year-old boy). So, thanks for upping my cool quotient in a big way! (BTW: no difficult questions were asked or answered).

Although his father, my little brother, did ask me quietly, which character was gay? I just looked innocent and said I had no idea what he was talking about. HE WAS NOT FOOLED. LOL.

    • LOL. Thank you again for the amazing, trenchant analysis and reaction, Chris! Always such a huge pleasure for me to read and it’s so gratifying to have one’s work so thoughtfully considered. 🙂

And that’s an awesome story about your nephew. You’re right! Those buttons are pretty darn unique! Wait until he sees the Trading Cards. (At least the SFW Powers and Origin packs.) You’ll be able talk about what power you would want for yourself and who do you think would win in a battle. I definitely see lots of cool uncle/nephew geek-out time ahead and it’s put a big smile on my face. 😀

      • I got a Sony Playstation 4 for MY Birthday… That means my nephew’s ‘other’ Uncle (my man and I have been together longer than he’s been alive, so it’s all just the norm) is also a coolest Uncle. My younger brother and his son (the nephew) say they NEEEEED an SP4, but my sister-in-law does not yet agree, (mean Mooooooooommmm!!!!). Therefore bro and son will be coming to our house to “test” the SP4. 🙂

My nephew has given me a list of games that “I NEED to buy,” all so he can come over and spend the night and teach me how to play them… for a nine year old… he’s a ‘giver’! He just wants to kick my ass… as he did in Star Wars Legos! HA. 🙂

At the moment Duncan’s button (villain face) was “mean” to Kyles button. Without knowing a bit more than that, my younger brother felt that was entirely sufficient explanation for this moment in time. LOL. I bow to the parental wisdom and do what I’m told. HA!

        • purplefoxglove

See what you did, Duncan? Your poor, innocent button will now have to suffer the wrath of a nine year old for what you did!

And after reading about your careful plotting, I second your nephew’s vote for the coolest uncle ^^

    • I will use comment #100 on this page to tell how much I like this comment 🙂 Another good one from you Mr. Dangerfield.

    • Elrohir

As someone, (I think @DanishWolf:disqus ) observed a few pages ago…I hate that I can only up-vote a comment once. Enthralling Mr. Dangerfield.

    • Klaus

Water is not the most instantly destructive element? Hello, his name is Tsunami!

  • Kate G

Can we all take a moment and appreciate Tsunami’s backside please? I mean, seriously, LOOK AT IT!!! And then look at Spooky’s face and Mitch’s hand in that last panel. *choir sings* I need a print of that panel. It’s utterly beautiful because you can just see how Mitch is feeling in that hand. I love that panel so much. Can someone make that in wallpaper size so we can have that for a desktop option? *melts*

    • Tsunami does have a lovely back.

    • Elrohir

He does….though I was kind of lost in that side view of Kyle standing next to him…I mean…just for a moment… 🙂

      • Archidel

Now that I can really rather understand.

      • Kate G

Kyle is rather yummy too. He has a rather shapely rear end. XD

    • Saxon_Brenton

Well, let’s be fair, it is a superhero comic. Everybody rocks their tight fitting costumes – even the bad guys. A quick skim indicates that pretty much everyone who isn’t in loose fitting/baggy clothing has had at least one opportunity for a booty shot (and I’m sure the Spooky fanclub and Flyboy fanclub would insist that they’d look good at the beach dressed in speedos, as well). But, yes, Tsunami seems to be right up there with both Fluke and Annihilator as far as muscle definition goes.

      • Kate G

True, but each of them has their own unique good thing like most people. Kyle tends to have a nice butt, I prefer Flyboy’s hands, Tsunami’s back (not his rear, but his back), Spooks has the best faces….it’s a superhero comic, yes, so all of them are going to be well toned, but they each still have their own features that are lovely.

        • Saxon_Brenton

Very much so. I was actually wondering about that – whether the amount of detail diferentiating the bodies matches the differentiation of the faces. Sometimes it’s obvious – Tsumani is built like the proverbial brick outhouse, while other people have more slender builds – but there are other, more subtle differences as well. For instance, comparing the backsides of Red Hot and Annihilatior when they were undressed suggests that while Red Hot is indeed well built, Annhilator has more delinated musculature (ie, even his lumbar region is ripped 🙂

          • Kate G

All of their eyes and hands have their own features too. Flyboy has very long thumbs if you haven’t noticed. Spooky’s fingers are always rounded and never fully straight. He always has them bent in some form of expression. Annihilator, as buff as he is, has chubby hands.

It’s the little details you start to notice. I’m sure if somebody made an image of only the YP characters’ hands and/or eyes in only lineart form, all of us would rattle of to whom they belong within 30 seconds. That’s the beauty of this comic; they each are that unique (try doing that with a CLAMP manga. Eyes? Yes. Hands? Good freaking luck. Toya’s look just like Yukito’s.)

  • Simba

I forgot what day it was and almost made a camping post. v.v Sigh…

  • So, basically, yes they’ll be fighting. 😀

  • Easy solution. Send in Fluke and Flyboy to disable the magic key thingy while Duncan and PP stand back and watch. After all, Duncan said he never harms children, nor allows anyone else to, and of course we all believe him…

    • stickfigurefairytales

Except that even if he was telling the truth, he specifically said that those rules didn’t apply in an active fight – it was just that minors weren’t to be targeted outside of battle.

      • Duncan’s caveat was for self-defence only. Not key-defence.

        • Saxon_Brenton

I submit that if Annihilator is desperate enough to sell the population of most of ther world (and their souls) to Laampros for eternal youth and health, then he may perceive/rationalise/handwave any threat to that plan as being an indirect threat to himself and act accordingly.

          • stickfigurefairytales

Plus I doubt he’d just stand there and let them take/disable the key without a fight, at which point it would again become self-defense.

  • Have lurked around all night while I’m reading and listening to author’s interview 🙂 So who else is actually here without saying anything?
Come out, come out where ever you aaare~

    • Elrohir

Lurking? I wouldn’t say lurking. 🙂 Just home from work and doing a quick check in before dinner. I hope all is well and the summer weather is awesome in Denmark?

      • Enjoy your dinner 🙂 Hope the work wasn’t hard/long.

Things go oki here, and while the temperature have dropped a little the Danish weather has been pretty damn good so far compared to ‘normal’ 🙂 I enjoy it, but sometimes miss the dry heat from (where I was in) US sometimes when it’s horribly humid xD

    • Saxon_Brenton

Just arrived back at work from a meeting. Will be ducking back and forth from my desk as I get back to work, but this page will be kept open…

    • stickfigurefairytales

      I’m hanging around! 🙂

    • Kuca

      I’m here tonight!

    • Mary Klemzak

I’m here cause someone replied to me.

    • Heh

Coming in and out of here since dinner.

    • In and out a bit. Feeding my dogs. Getting dinner ready. 🙂

    • Here-ish….trying to keep every thing up to date while answering the questions stickfigure tagged me in on tumbler and then answering the other questions….

  • Alrighty then.. now that I’m done listening to 1½ hour interview/Q&A I can focus on camping 🙂

Wonder if Alex is around with a somewhat estimate about this being an early- or late-ish page *hint hint*

    • Heh

I really hope is a very quick one or a very late one, so i can see it. 🙁

    • stickfigurefairytales

Since we haven’t heard anything yet, I’m guessing that it won’t be particularly early, but other than that I don’t know.

    • Kuca

Hoping it’s not too early tonight, do have something to take care of… gotta see the page as it goes up!

    • I just heard from Vero. It won’t be early tonight. Probably the usual time or a smidge later. 🙂

      • stickfigurefairytales

        Thanks for letting us know!

  • bronakopdin

here I am, 4.14am in the morning, because I couldn’t sleep at all this night, and since I need to get up around 5 anyway I thought I might as well check here, since I never really knew when the updates are (and since i happen to be oh so late these days….)
but seems I just don’t have any luck these days xD
just read it will be a later-ish page ^^

    • Aww damn. Maybe next time.
Yeah, it being close to 4.20 for me as well, and haven’t slept either, I’m wondering if I dare nap for an hour/hour and a half or if it’s better just to stay up and get a longer nap later. Not sure I’d get up again so soon if I went to sleep now 🙂

      • bronakopdin

oh really? I never knew we are living in the same timezone! So where are you from? 🙂

not sure how it’s with you but if I tell myself I’d take a little nap… I guess I would fall asleep for sure and wouldn’T wake up so easily again xD

        • I’m Danish ;D
And yeah, I used to be better at taking the short naps. These days I sometimes sleep like a rock and/or not good at waking up. Guess it’s an effect of having pased 30 LOL

          • bronakopdin

ha! Who knows, in fact I’ll turn 25 soonish and yet I seem to have passed that point long ago, so kudos you’re still able to do it xD

            and I’m actually facepalming myself…
I mean I always thought you might justlike some certain race of Wolfs that are called like that but now when we were talking about timezones I could have answered my own question, oh well, I blame the time ^^

  • stickfigurefairytales

For some reason it really doesn’t feel like it’s 11 here yet. I’m not sure why.

    • Kuca

Just not enough time in the day, sometimes. Sometimes it seems like you’ll go along and just not do enough in the day and then it’s the end of it. It happens to me way too often.

    • Holy Crap….it IS 11 pm….when did that happen? It was 9 a minute ago!!

  • …Just need to think of three more random questions for stickfigures thingy thing on tumblr…

    • stickfigurefairytales

Yeah, it was kind of tough coming up with questions to ask for that meme.

      • HA! I have answered all your questions at last! 😛

        • stickfigurefairytales

          Hooray! o/

      • Heh

Can i follow you? Let me follow you all!

        • stickfigurefairytales

Sure thing, if you want! I do tend to post a lot, but I tag pretty well if you want to blacklist stuff you aren’t interested in. My tumblr name is the same as my Disqus one. 🙂

          • How do you do that out of curiosity?

          • stickfigurefairytales

There are two main extensions that offer the ability to blacklist posts: Tumblr Savior and XKit. XKit has a lot of other features you can add too. You just download one of them and then enter in whatever terms you want to block on your “blacklist.” I’d be happy to help you with the specifics if you want!

          • Which one is better? Or should I say easiest? 🙂

          • stickfigurefairytales

            I found XKit easier, personally.

          • I got XKit. There are so many things that can be done with it. I’m not even sure what half of it is.

          • stickfigurefairytales

Yeah, there are a lot of things I don’t know about, either. But that’s okay, I can just use the ones I do understand!

          • stickfigurefairytales

Do you need any help setting up the blacklist stuff?

          • I managed to find it and figure it out. I was grumbling that I couldn’t use XKit for my phone at least that I can see.

          • stickfigurefairytales

Yeah, unfortunately neither of them work on phones as far as I know.

          • Boo! Oh well. Still boo! 🙂

  • davefragments

Well this is my “experience” of the day. I never experience a fight like this and I hope that I never do. It’s completely idiotic and stupid.
However, what kind of decoration is on the walls and roof of that restaurant. Looks like giant, mutant alien fungus and it certainly isn’t appetizing.
What kind of fools fight like this?
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/23/fight-stalactites-melbourne_n_5522994.html?utm_hp_ref=small-business&ir=Small+Business

    • DC

I went to check out the decoration but got distracted with the idiots fighting. Just viewed it again and saw that the name of the restaurant is Stalactites, so I suppose those growths on the ceiling are supposed to be stalactites.

      • davefragments

I wonder if they drip condiments on the food from the ceiling?
It is one nasty fight, though. . .

  • Kuca

I hate socks, I really hate them. Why are they always disappearing? Why can I never find a pair of good ones? Just got out of the shower and trying to find some and the only matching pair that’s there are some good ones I got at Christmas that have giant holes in them now from a storm I was wearing them in!

    • stickfigurefairytales

I hate it when I wear out socks I really like.

    • Ellen Harman

According to Gobber it’s trolls, but they only take the left socks.

      • Kuca

That sounds like it may well be the problem. Just have to find them and deal with them, now!

  • davefragments

For those who live outside the USA or live a clueless political life (which can be a really good thing unless you’re a tongue-out, heavy-breathing, rabid political junky like me) there was primary elections in five states tonight and interesting things have happened: Thad Cochran (senile white man with gray hairm supported by War Monger McCain, party) beat Chris McDaniel (Tea Party, need I even say nut case? Sarah Palin supported him, Party) in Mississippi.
Cochran won by asking Democratic Black voters to vote for him. Need I say that he’s a Republican. Very weird. The Democrats ran ads calling McDaniel a big spender and Cochran a conservative republican.
This is one of the weirdest races for political office I’ve seen in all my years.
    If I offended anyone, sorry.

    • davefragments

Colorado is counting votes tonight which should be interesting because they allowed do take a a ganja break with snacks afterward.

      • Kuca

The possibilities there are endless, I can only imagine.

        • davefragments

          pizza, snores, tostitos?

          • Kuca

Sounds about right. I could sure go for some of those myself, right about now.

    • Kuca

This has truly been a bizzare, that is very true. Been fun watching that one.

  • I have oranges and chocolate ice cream if any one wants something!

    • davefragments

      sounds good,

    • silibub

I wish I had some oranges! I’m worn out from packing all day.

      • *gives silibub a couple of oranges*

        • silibub

          yesss

          • Are you moving?

          • silibub

My dad is, so I’m half-moving (parents are divorced, haha). He’s been in this house for quite a while, so there’s a lot of stuff to sort through. It’s been nice in a way, since I’ve gotten rid of a lot of stuff that was kind of weighing me down. It’s a workout, though!

          • I can image. ^_^ Good luck and don’t hurt yourself!

          • silibub

            Thanks!

    • stickfigurefairytales

      Ooh, nice!

  • Sapfo

It feels like I have not been here in ages. Oh well, I am here now and I am having a day of 😀

    • silibub

      Hello~ I’m glad you’re having a good day!

    • stickfigurefairytales

Hi Sapfo, and yay for you having a good day!

    • Morning Sapfo Sweet! I have caught up on all tumblr things and am trying to beat that game…..cannot believe ThisBe beat it on first try….

      • Sapfo

        I know!

    • Morning 🙂 You got to slep long.

      • Sapfo

I needed it. Have a lot of things i must do today, for this is the only day I have of this week 😛
Oh and I am going to Denmark next week XP
Mum and I are going to Helsingör. Hope you have some good weather for me then. 😀

  • silibub

I remembered today how Alex Word-of-Goded that Spooky smells like vanilla, and now I’m really curious about everyone else. I demand scent profiles for all of these characters!

    • Klaus

Maybe we can get scratch and sniff cards with volume two.

      • silibub

Ha! I hope Alex is taking notes…

        • Adam Black

          he is now.. @alexwoolfson:disqus

    • stickfigurefairytales

Maybe Kyle smells like wood smoke…

      • mogoskier

Woo, then tsunami would smell like the sea.

        • Adam Black

          salty sea or dead fish?

          • Kuca

            Salty sea, I would hope.

        • Or salt water taffy!!

          • Adam Black

You just opened yourself up wide for that one

( pun not intended but Im going to let it stand ) 😉

    • mogoskier

I really need to start reading the comments again, because I missed that fact and I’m sad I did.

      • silibub

I usually catch up while waiting for a new page — lately I’m too tired to hang around long after a page goes up.

    • Adam Black

      @alexwoolfson:disqus

      • Sapfo

Does this mean that you want to have a scent profile on Alex? How daring 😉

        • Irish Spring.

          And cookies.

          • Sapfo

            Wow, that sounds nice smell.

My scent is clean-sheets-bedhead and tea 😉

          • mogoskier

My cousins say I smell like fluffy towels.
I wanted to smell like my name. Amber

          • Sapfo

That is a cute thing to say 😀

          • Hehe (no strawberries) … Black Tea & chocolate here! I even have a favorite black tea perfume…

          • Sapfo

Shhh! People are not suppose to know that 😉
(have not eaten any yet, but soon I will)

          • stickfigurefairytales

            Ooh, that sounds really nice!

          • mogoskier

            What kind of cookies.

    • I remembered that one, where there’s probably others I’ve forgotten, because I also read a book series where there’s someone the main character always thinks smell like vanilla – and i wonder what’s up with the vanilla scent, if there’s some significance I haven’t found or if it’s pure coinsidence 🙂

      • silibub

To me it seems like a “good” smell — like I can’t imagine an evil person smelling like vanilla, haha!

        • Hmm that might be it 🙂

          • silibub

Weirdly, even though I like the smell and everything, I avoid using vanilla-scented things on myself. Wonder what that says about me…

          • zunden

Literal: It says that your MHC profile is not well-reflected by the scent of vanilla.

Figurative: Well, obviously, that means you want to be seen as evil.

      • DemureDesire

Wearing vanilla scent is supposed to be attractive to men because they think you smell like cookies. Or something like that.

And, in the realm of things you probably don’t care about, a couple drops of vanilla extract in the water bottles is supposed to make your pet rats’ pee not smell as much.

        • silibub

That’s interesting! I wonder if the water bottle trick would work on chinchillas, too.

          • cats?

          • DemureDesire

Dunno — I just have rats… I don’t know anything about chinchillas (except that they need dust baths?) but if vanilla won’t hurt them it might be worth a shot.

          • silibub

Lucky! I’d love to have a couple rats at some point. They seem like excellent pets.

          • DemureDesire

They are. They have way too much personality for such little critters. (I have 9 and each has his own personality and preferences.) They are brats and con artists and so hard to say no to… LOL

        • Bigger hmm now.. since both Spooky and the person in the other series I read are both men xD

    • stickfigurefairytales

Based purely on tropes, at least one of them should smell like sandalwood.

      • stickfigurefairytales

Mixed with “something undescribeable but uniquely them”

        • mogoskier

I say it Flyboy and it mixed with the sky.

  • Sapfo

So, what would it be like if Laampros hade to go to famlydinner with his boyfriend?

    http://everydaycomics.tumblr.com/post/89818886230/it-gets-even-awkward-during-christmas-dinner-with

    • mogoskier

Man, imagine when the time comes when he has to tell them about Kyle.

  • As someone who has worked in the Deli, (although not at walmart), I probably laughed harder than people who haven’t worked in one at these: http://zeniatta.tumblr.com/post/89829410375/tastefullyoffensive-notes-from-management

    • DC

at least Shane is using paper bags and not the deli products as puppets to practice his ventriloquism 🙂

    • davefragments

I like that — extended warrantee!

There once was a restaurant in this area that advertised “Chicken, Chicken, Chicken) and did fried chicken that was spectacular EXCEPT, she you got takeout or a home order, the grease kinda ate through the bag and onto your car seats.

      • …..yeah….grease will do that….

        • davefragments

A bar in the other direction was actually named “Little Dick’s Tavern” and it’s sign and t-shirts were a man looking sadly into his trousers. I never went in the place because of the name.

        • davefragments

Think – – the Esther Williams Swim Team of fried chicken.
Or a kiddie’s Slip and Slide

    • Adam Black

      full of win.

      I want date Shane

  • Joining camp late… was napping and working on something *evil grin*

    • Sapfo

Hope you are doing better after work from hell day.

      • It was just one terrible person and the rest of the day was okay. Just one of those type that loves to make everyone else miserable… over with now, and I don’t have to talk with them anymore XD

        • Did you wear the necklace and earings? Was there a reaction?

          • I did and I don’t know if he noticed today or not. One day I shall find out… one day! It’s just I’m normally glued to my desk working most of the day, so don’t get many chances *cries*

      • Adam Black

        It was awful.
        It was non-stop laying around,
unending piles of imaginary conversation with people Im not talking to, or not talking to me,

        unending distractions i cant finish,
and I just have to do the same tomorrow
—and worse I dont get paid
Its a wonder I dont just quit and get a job

        • Sapfo

          Oh poor Adam!
I know it is hard to have such a awful day. I hope you at least all thouse imaginary people did not sound like John Lennon.
But if you are not paid, why should you just lay around? Maybe you should stand and do nothing. That would show them. No one can control you! You are a rebel!
Jupp, my big cuddly rebel. ^_^

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwUGSYDKUxU

          • Adam Black

thx but you have it backwards:

            The Imaginary people are cool,
its the real people that in imaginary conversations that are dickish and problems.

Oh, no I cant stand around and do nothing!
I have nerve damage, if I do that, I Wont be able to stand and Not do nothing.

BUt maybe you stand around and do nothing, for me, seeing as how hard it for me. Just Be sure and tell me what didnt happen after.

If anyone complains you just tell them that I neuropathy and you are doiung me a favor and standing around and doing nothing for me.

_. no one can control you_
I wish . I’m a slave to all kinds of things,
maybe you thought “the rhythm is going to get you ” was some kind of idle threat?

          • Sapfo

Real people in my world have loud
voices, and for some reason they have meetings in my office. I like imaginary people. they say the nices things.

Pain is no fun. You lay down and I will do this standing thing for you.

            Here is my report:
I stood up and was about to fall due to pain. Apparently my heel spur did not like it when I stand up. (Don´t get heel spur, it’s overrated and it makes standing hard)

After a while I managed to place both feet on the floor and I stared out into the room. Then I realized I was staring, and staring is to do something.

Decided to ignore things instead. That worked until a fly landed on my nose. ö.ö

I wonder for a moment if that counts as doing something if I whipped the fly away. Realizing that this was most likely so.

Sorry Adam, I suck at doing nothing. But I did give it a try. Maybe I can do nothing and washing the dishes at the same time?

Or maybe we could just watch this Firefly show. I heard it is the new big tv-show on the air. It will probably get several seasons.

          • Adam Black

Cant u fix a heel spur?.
Staring is only doing something if you think it is,

Yeah, you need to basically ignore all the reasons you cant do something.

You arent supposed to keep wondering if you are doing nothing. That counts as something. Just accept you are doing nothing and all your actions magically add up to zero.

“Sorry Adam, I suck at doing nothing.”
You will just have to not-wor at it.

For someone who spends her freetime reading comics , I’m not sure how it is you got so bad at doing nothing. Thats a real puzzle. Dont try and figure out. Unless you are certain its a pointless distraction, and then its perfect.

“Maybe I can do nothing and washing the dishes at the same time?”
That is not really a good idea—whoops too late. That heel spur is starting to make sense

            Take your pick:
Firefly Season 2, Serenity 2, a Serenity Prequal
im serious. I know how to get it.

I figured it out today, while doing nothing ( actually reading http://www.Amultiverse.com )
Yes, I know he said no. But I am certain of the one thing that is bigger than his No.

          • Sapfo

But Adam, reading comics is doing something. And I find it very rewarding 😉
I be back to you after work.

          • Adam Black

” I like imaginary people. they say the nices things.”
My imaginary people are just simulations of real people.

    • stickfigurefairytales
