The Young Protectors: Engaging The Enemy Chapter 5—Page 65

520 Comments on The Young Protectors: Engaging The Enemy Chapter 5—Page 65

Yeah! What happened???

Over on the Patreon Page, for a variety of reasons, I don’t want to leave NSFW images up for too long. So, I’m going to be removing the link to the fully painted, naked Annihilator from the recent Flashback Friday post next month. This was the sneak preview image for that:

$5 Patrons can still download the full image immediately. And $10 Patrons will get one last chance to get sent a high-res version with over double the resolution on June 10th.

Want to see The Annihilator life-like and naked? This will be your last chance to get access to this gorgeous pin-up!

If you’re enjoying our work here and would like to see it continue (and would like to get access to all kinds of special benefits),

please take a moment to watch the video on my Patreon page and consider becoming a Patron.

Also, I’m in Toronto this weekend, May 26-29th, for Yaoi North! Yaoi North is an official part of Anime North and takes place at the Holiday Inn Toronto Airport East at 600 Dixon Road.

It is “the annual LGBTQ-centric programming track that runs as part of Anime North. Programming features a variety of informative panels and events including fandom-specific discussions, queer lifestyle, and yaoi/yuri fandom topics, as well as evening/overnight viewings and a multitude of contests. Popular panels from previous years include World History of Homosexuality, Gay Sex 101 (18+), Crossplay 101, Fandom Ate My Soul, Psychology of Yaoi, Yuri in the West, and Yuri 101.”

I’m there all day Saturday, and I’ll be giving at least two panels on Saturday about LGBT webcomics. I’ll also be selling and signing books in the “Industry Area” of the Dealer’s Room in the Toronto Congress Centre, table #IA-11.  Here is a map of where the Industry Area is. And here is a somewhat generic-looking map showing where you can find my table in the Industry Area.

Yaoi North is taking place this weekend, May 26-28, and, while Saturday is now sold out, Sunday tickets are still available at the door (and I’ll be there for a the first hour on Sunday morning). Also, since Anime North is a “not-for-profit” fan event, the price is quite reasonable! If you think you might want to go and get a chance to see me, please check it out!

So! Kyle and Commander were able to find The Annihilator! But is it me, or does he seem different?

What are these crazy kids going to have to say to each other?

Tune in this Wednesday to find out! Hope to see you there! 😀

  • Bahahaha…

    • 112

      • Yay! I kinda lost count after 100 🙂

        • Wayne Lunkwitz

I can see the meltdown now …..Duncan: But I’m too old to start over again!

          • Chris Dangerfield

HA… If I knew then, what I know now!

          • You wouldn’t have had your little accident?

          • Wayne Lunkwitz

I agree…..I could have been “dangerous” in certain situations!

  • lol

  • Bwahahaha! He’s what? 12?

  • It’s TINY DUNCAN!!!!

    • stickfigurefairytales

      So tiny!!!

  • Someone has a second puberty ahead ;-p

Now I can’t wait to see Sircea as well. Never do a deal with a devil. You will get what you want, but not as you wanted it.

    • Klaus

Maybe not. Youth unending was the deal.

    • Chris Dangerfield

Oh wow… I didn’t think about that. Hell has no fury like puberty.

      • Jet Allen

And if she stays locked in that stage forever? Eternal periods.

  • jreed3842

    Wtf?!

Man Laampros is got the last laugh here didn’t he?
    “I want eternal youth!”
“Okay, but that means you’re gonna be 4 years old forever.”

    • jreed3842

And I wonder what PP is like right now. I bet where ever she got teleported to she is freaking out. Poor girl!

  • davefragments

    Pimples!

    • davefragments

      and freckles

      • Chris Dangerfield

        Adorable…

    • Chris Dangerfield

The best/worst revenge for past misdeeds…. hmmmm…. I’m gonna have to thing about that one myself. LOL.

  • Morgan

    Whaaaaat!

I will say that of all things, I was NOT expecting this.

    • Klaus

      You and me both.

  • This one is going to be REALLY weird to explain one day..

“I lost my virginity to a 58 year old silverfox on my 18th birthday, but the day after he was a boy who couldn’t even remember me”

    • Jet Allen

“And that, kids… is how I met your mother.”

  • DonnaC

Maybe young enough not to have signs of powers yet. If he stays forever this age does he never develop powers or can he become a permanent young protector.

    • Mir

Time for a do-over. Lead Duncan to the right path!

    • Madock345

I’ve never built so many new ships so fast in my life.

      Tiny Duncan x everyone

  • Wayne Lunkwitz

Smile people…….it could have been much worse….at least at this age (Roughly 13 I’m guessing) at least he is potty trained!

  • Zephyr10101

I thought he was Kyle’s age at first was instantly cackling but then I see he’s younger and I’m like JOUVIIIIIE

  • Klaus

A timid child, easily bullied. That is how he discribed himself in chapter one.

    • Chris Dangerfield

Except now he has powerful friends to help him… right?

      • Klaus

        Let’s hope so.

  • Ethan

Noooooo not the Silver Fox D: is he gonna be like this forever or what? I’m actually really sad rn

  • Klaus

He obviously does not have his powers. Those scatches would have healed in a few minutes.

    • Jet Allen

Now, now. Don’t forget that he’s (back) at that age where he probably thinks they make him look badass.

    • Madock345

He did get hit with anti power explosion.

He may just be an immortal and permanent teenager. Immortality is a cool power. He can go in all the dangerous places first.

  • AI

And this children is exactly why we don’t make deals with genies and demons.
Because they’ll give you exactly what you asked for and not what you wanted.

    • Klaus

Just as with computers, isn’t it?

      • AI

        Uggggg, you have no idea.

      • Chris Dangerfield

        Okay, that was good!

        • Katrinajbourg

Well you know what they say, to err is human but to really foul things up you need a computer.

    • davefragments

A Djinn with Flaming Eyes was on AMERICAN GODS.
      He stole

      • AI

Well I’m not about to argue with Neil Gaiman…. So to each his own when creating a world… Also Spoilers…

        • davefragments

All Djinn lie and take what isn’t theirs

Laampros seems to follow the same pattern – lie

          • AI

I haven’t seen or read AMERICAN GODS, so I don’t know how they have portrayed Djinns.

In some fantasy settings Fae, Demons and Djinns CAN’T lie, but they can tell you mis-truths of half-truths, I want to say.

In other-words they’ll tell you something that has either double meanings, IE I want a million Bucks and next thing you know you get ran over by a million male deer,

or go about doing something in a way that doesn’t technically break promises it just doesn’t give you the expect out come.

          • Kit the Coyote

Exactly, the Fae will keep the exact letter of any agreement but will gleefully twist that exact letter to their benefit if they can. It is often expressed as a matter of magic enforced honor.

    • timemonkey

It’s your own fault for not being more specific.

      • Chris Dangerfield

It’s your own fault for trusting Sircea. The only one who can handle her is Silibub… FACT.

        • I wonder how she is going to handle her wifey suddenly being that much younger…

          • timemonkey

Depends on how the de-aging worked. As I said above, she may be entirely unaffected because a few decades is just a drop in the bucket to her.

          • Assuming the deal dealt with years and not age.

          • Madock345

But they asked for youth. She may be returned to what youth was for her.

    • Chris Dangerfield

Oh, well said. Watch those wishes and avoid the monkey’s paw.

    • Jet Allen

Send them to Mama Odie and she’ll help them find out what they need.

      • timemonkey

They just need to dig a little deeper.

  • Klaus

If Sircea has lost all memories since age 12 or so, she is going to find the modern world confusing, nearly incomprehensible. There is no reason she would have lost any inate power she has, but how much was inate power and how much was knowledge?

    • Chris Dangerfield

Nope. She’ll still be tying naked cavemen to slab of rock. Sircea has been who she is for 6,000 years. It was not accident. I like a good villain. She had this all figured out. Duncan was just a sweetie who lost his way. We will see her again… fer sure.

    • Jet Allen

Of course, that labors under the impression that Sircea’s regressed in the manner that Duncan has. Of course, she’ll have plenty of time to re-adapt, if that’s the case.

Also, speaking of Sircea, the thought just now occurred to me – does ANYBODY else imagine her being voiced by Jessica Walter? I guess it’s because I recently got into Archer, but she gives me so many retroactive Malory vibes now. (Well, aside from the Zsa Zsa Gabor-esque “darling” thing Sircea’s got.)

“Duncan, if you don’t seduce that ginger and send him to Hell, I will literally die.”

      • ComicBookGoddess

Nah, I’m too busy thinking of how _I_ would voice her. Like Morchella, but with the sex appeal turned up a bit. 🙂

    • NoiseShaper

Teenagers can adapt to changed circumstances pretty quickly.

    • purplefoxglove

And, if she lost her memories, will she still know how to repair the walls?

      • Klaus

        That could be a problem.

        • ComicBookGoddess

          And, perhaps, the point…

  • I honestly don’t really know how I feel about this. Am I surprised? No. It was expected but the reality of it is different than the ironic knowledge that he’d probably be screwed over by the deal. It hit’s both my dark humor.. and something I can’t really put a word on.

How am I supposed to be angry at an innocent teenage boy?

Pretty sure Kyle will have to deal with that issue as well, now that the last 24 hours has time to be processed. It’s gonna be weird for all of them, but mostly Kyle.

    • TwilightDreamer

Agreed. I mean, I’ve been so furious at Duncan, but I saw this meek little boy, and that anger ran out, slamming the door behind it o.o

      • Pietro7

Yeah. This was a whiplash all right. Now what?

    • Madock345

The clear answer is new flyboy ship

  • Mir

I HAVE WANTED AND ASKED FOR A YOUNG DUNCAN TO APPEAR FOR THE LONGEST TIME!!

    • But how young? Many earlier comments have been based on the assumption that Duncan would be a young (hot) man. Many have been speculations about HOW young he’d turn out.
Now we have the answer with a young teenager.

      • Mir

I asked for both but mainly a young/child Duncan so we could see the meek and confused little boy he spoke about to Kyle.

So innocent and scared, such a contrast from the adult he turned into!

      • Klaus

But he is still 58. So it is not immoral to have sex with him. Or?

        • I’m not even going there yet. Can’t look at this young Duncan and think sex. Had he been older, sure, but not this.

          • Madock345

Not sure how old exactly he is, but I’m guessing some variety of teenager. Which is old enough for fiction. He looks about Mitch and Corey’s age to me.

          • Somewhere down the comments I said that as well. Mitch is pretty precocioius though, and where I live he is ‘legal’ sex-wise (with some situation exceptions) where as Duncan seem younger than he is. Right now at least which is understandible.

Sometimes it’s about maturity and not age. From this page Duncan is too young, so I can’t go there yet.

        • timemonkey

He seems to have mentally regressed as well so I’m going with a yes, it’s immoral.

          • Chris Dangerfield

All those boyz in spandex… he’… ponder it tomorrow.

        • Chris Dangerfield

          Klaus you sexy old thing!

      • Chris Dangerfield

Pubes? I mean it’s a variable thing… says any boy who went to middle school gym.

  • Klaus

Youth and perfect health unending was only part of the deal. Rulership of the Americas was also included.

    • davefragments

But only if you remember the deal

    • NoiseShaper

That was predicated on Laampros actually having that rule to give, which doesn’t seem to have come to fruition, though…

      • Madock345

He will one day be president

In the far, far future when the Americas are one country

  • Stephen Hutchison

Wait. Didn’t the same “blessing” get applied to the Platinum Priestess?

    • That’s the question. Did the millenia year old just turn into a (powerless?) teenager?

She could be in a nightmare if she can’t escape Fluffy xD

      • Klaus

I think she is (or was) far too clever to have fled to the same place she sent it. Actually I expect that she had a bolthole prepared.

        • Yeah, I know. I just still liked my inner image of her running around on an island, being chased by Fluffy. Not as fun if she is a scared, powerless teenager.

        • Jet Allen

I honestly thought that said “she had a butthole prepared” for a second and got very confused and alarmed about the turn this was taking.

          • Chris Dangerfield

A smart man ALWAYS has a butthole prepared…. what? Just say in’.

          • Jet Allen

            “In.”

This better not be a trick.

      • timemonkey

I’d laugh if he regressed them the same amount so Duncan’s a teenager and she’s exactly the same because she only lost 40 years off of thousands.

        • Jet Allen

It’s all about technicalities. “Well, your breasts are IMPERCEPTIBLY perkier and your arthritis is… RELATIVELY better. You didn’t say you wanted the changes to be noticeable, Sircea. Geez, HOW long have you been around?”

        • ComicBookGoddess

Yeah, but those 40 years are the only ones where she actually aged.
They were deliberately vague on the details of her part of the arrangement, so it may have been covered through the intermediaries.

      • Madock345

I think she was already doing magic at that age

  • TwilightDreamer

Oh! whoa…..did NOT see that coming…not in the least! :O
Now THIS looks like an exciting plot twist…well, I think so anyway 😛

  • Sunseahl Silverfall

So the next arc is all Annie growing up as a good guy in The Protectors… Neat.

    • Klaus

      Youth unending, remember?

      • Sunseahl Silverfall

Even an immortal has to grow in knowledge and capacity…. Even if they remain a child.

        • timemonkey

Not necessarily, they could reset mentally eternally. demons are dicks after all.

          • Sunseahl Silverfall

Why do that when you can reset once and make them believe you’re god for the rest of time? If i was a demon I would HATE having to “50 First Dates” my servants constantly.

          • Chris Dangerfield

            Ha!

          • timemonkey

He’s not a servant though, they had a one time deal.

          • Sunseahl Silverfall

As you said… Demons are dicks…. Not ONLY would i have at LEAST given him the memory-wiped youth… I would tell him that he would not live should he leave my service… which is partly true.

  • Klaus

Is he going to stay this young mentally as well as physiologically forever?

    • Sunseahl Silverfall

My bet is that only half of the youth thing was granted. That he’s regressed but will still age… I’ve been wrong before though.

  • Kit the Coyote

Yea I saw this coming hehe

  • timemonkey

Hmm, so both younger and older than I’d theorised. On the bright side, villainous Duncan is effectively dead now.

  • Mike W

I had an intuition about his rejuvenation four years ago (according to my Disqus comment history).

  • Sapfo

    Teen Duncan?

  • Cman65

Pre-twinkie Duncan is still cute but Redhot prefers daddies

    • No, he prefer Spooky’s.

    • camelotcrusade

Actually I think he preferred “anyone who knew his secret” but that is a larger club now than it was when he met Duncan. Still, I dug that pairing.

      • Klaus

Anyone who is fireproof. Duncan is not anymore. Fortunately Spooky knows how to handle hellfire (word of God).

    • Jet Allen

I’d say given the whole “in love with Spooky” deal, Kyle’s preferences are pretty broad. Duncan was more likely opportunity. Closeted, sexually-frustrated gay virgin who’s afraid to get release. Guy who can give him that release smooth-talks him into bed.

Probably would’ve been the same if Duncan had been a fellow teenager, or a guy Spooky’s age – Kyle was vulnerable and impressionable at that time.

      • Chris Dangerfield

        Well said!

  • Nate

    *blink* *blink*

Oookay….Assuming this isn’t some sort of trick (something Amanda should be easily able to determine), this immediately brings up three questions:

    1) Who will take care of our new young friend? I would suggest Mitch get a new kid brother.

    2) Does he still have his powers? We may have just met the newest Young(est) Protector. 😉

    3) If so, what should his hero name be? I’m guessing Annihilator is no longer appropriate. 😉

I also wonder if he’s still gay, Being so would make it that much more fitting that Mitch be his new mentor. 😀

(And isn’t Dunkie the cutest lost puppy? What’s the opposite of a silver fox, anyway? Brunette cub?)

    • Klaus

      1) Mitch has his hands full with Cory and Diego, I should think.
      2) His scratches have not healed.

      • Chris Dangerfield

Patience. Spooky is working as fast as he can. LOL,

        • Klaus

That Duncan’s scratches have not healed, shows that he does not have his powers.

          • Chris Dangerfield

            True. Forgot that.

      • Nate

        1) Mitch also has a mansion (und a yacht? Bonus points if you know where THAT is from).

        2) Good point, but maybe they’ll take a while to kick in? The scratxches aren’t in the script, anyway….

        • Klaus

          Mitch’ parents have a mansion.

          • Chris Dangerfield

            Good best friend!

        • Klaus

They must have been approved by Alex.

          • Chris Dangerfield

I swear Alex is ALL powerful.

          • We all bow before him.

        • Arakiba

Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd. 🙂

      • Jet Allen

The fact that this has 3 upvotes (so far) makes it look like there’s a third item on the list that got cut off. Confused the HELL outta me for a second.

    • Jet Allen

I wonder if he still goes off on long, self-indulgent, ill-timed monologues? Maybe his hero name could be Flaptrap.

    • ComicBookGoddess

I don’t know. Bet Mitch will still be pissed at him…

  • Caraway Carter

Am I the only one that wanted the May/December? I’m sad he’s young, but it’s the will of the comic. I seriously started following the comic for the hot Annihilator/Kyle drawings. I love older Annihilator. I totally did not see this coming.

    • As part of the deal with Laampros, they were to be young again. They probably just forgot to specify how young. It’s a matter of details.

      • It’s ALL in the details. I cannot wait to see PP. ^_^

  • Klaus
  • Chris Dangerfield

Okay you long-time Duncan shippers… well… ummmm… gee… I burnt out all my rage and immature vitreal several years ago after the hell-rape thing… So now… I got nothing.

    Have fun.

Thanks team A, A & V. I never ever expected this. So wonderful!

    • ofwaterfall

“Have fun,” you say to fellow readers who are upset.

I’ve only been following this comic for six months but had trouble shaking off my grief yesterday enough to concentrate on work.

You don’t have to understand people’s feelings to be respectful, do you?

      • Chris Dangerfield

Sorry, absolutely no disrespect intended. I fully respect everyone’s right to have their own feelings about a specific character plot twist… and I had to learn that the hard way. I wasn’t easy on Duncan fans a few years back when he was in full villain mode. Definitely my bad. Lesson learned.

My “have fun” refers to the fact that we are all getting to read really good writing (and art) filled with interesting and unexpected events and that is all too rare these days.

So, I’m just having fun enjoying the quality of this work and wish the same for all of us — even when a specific event may not go the way I think it should.

I do understand the idea that reading this story over years produces a very different reaction as opposed to reading it in a much shorter time frame.

Honestly, I’m really looking forward to reading this as that fab hard-copy, at my own pace. I know I’m going to have a completely new and different experience yet again. I know I did with Volume One. Take care.

        Respectfully,
        Chris

  • Nate

Either way, he looks like he’s in need of some Nate-hugs™

    • Juliette Leroux

      Who isn’t?

  • camelotcrusade

I think the position of annoying sidekick is actually open on the team. It could be a good way to re-educate him, and the light janitorial duties aren’t too bad. ✨

  • Jeldenil

I can hear Amanda and Gordon inwardly groaning at yet another one to keep in check.

    • Jet Allen

God, and imagine Paul or Spooky calling first dibs on mentoring him. First lessons “fun with pissing off Mom and Dad.”

  • Juliette Leroux

Okay well, he is clearly not legal anymore, so that solves the shipping question at least for several years… Problem is he can’t be judged either. His mental state will not allow it. Now only the Platinum priestess could be and methink she will not let herself get caught like this.
Well, it’s going to be VERY complicated now for Duncan (lone teenager without a family and a terrible past he doesn’t remember), so I wish him all the good and hapiness in the world.

    • Klaus

Isn’t he? He is 58. Does physiologiacal age have any relevance? As for mental age, we don’t really know. He is scared and confused, as anyone would be who found themselves in such a situation with no memory of how he got there, This is not the selfassured Duncan that was, but he is not necessarily a child mentally.

What if he still looks like this 10 years from now? Would sex with him still be immoral?

      • It is still the body of child and that would be a big NO for me.

        • Klaus

The body of a child would make him unattractive to me, But I see no moral problem, if his mind is mature.

          • Chris Dangerfield

I’ll pay good money if this would just NOT become a debate. LOL.

          • Jet Allen

Reminds me of an episode of SVU. A guy was dating a girl who physically looked about… eleven or twelve, but was… I think in her late teens or twenties? Technically, it was legal, since she was old enough to consent (and mentally was her actual age, too), but it squicked the SVU squad out big time.

Though, I feel like the shipping problem was already solved ell before this development. I mean, there may be people who prefer it over Kyle/Spooky (and admittedly, while I was rooting for Kyle and Spooky forever, his relationship with Duncan DID get more development over time), but I don’t think there’s any doubt that as a person, Spooky is far better for Kyle than someone like Duncan. It might be less drama, but I think those two have earned their right to a normal happy, adorable relationship.

      • Juliette Leroux

Well, that’s an interresting question. I had assumed indeed that he was mentally the age he was looking, but maybe not. Even worse for him then, as it must be freeking destabilising.

    • Klaus

According to the script, he looks to be 15 or 16. 16 is legal in half the US states. 15 is legal e.g. in Denmark.

      • Juliette Leroux

Hmm, have to check but I think it’s 15 in France too actually, depending on the cases.

    • He looks to be around Mitch’s age. Mitch clearly is precocious for recently turning 15, so that comparison doesn’t exactly work.. yet. Right now Duncan appears younger than he is in his bewildered state.

  • Klaus

What a great twist. Thank you Alex. You never disappoint.

  • LunacyCupcakes

They asked unending youth, not the knowledge of alll things from before. I love wish granting culture. It’s fantastic.

    • Chris Dangerfield

Just some really good chocolate cake with ice cream that doesn’t make me fat. Can I have that wish w/out the world ending? 😀

      • LunacyCupcakes

It’s wish culture. Odds are you won’t be able to stop eating it and you will need to keep eating and you’ll just waste away until you commit suicide because the hollowness inside you just never fills and you can never eat enough. But the world at large will be fine, so I suppose how much of the big picture you’re looking at XD

      • Jet Allen

You need to get a really good lawyer to cover your loopholes unless your wish-granting genie (or other creature) is a dick.

I’d personally spring for a blue one that sounds like Robin Williams. He seems fair.

        • Chris Dangerfield

          He’s expensive tho…

          • Jet Allen

Merchandising rights are a bitch. Maybe flash some leg or something, see if you get a discount.

        • Klaus

But Sircea used a lot of time making that deal. And she is rather experienced. Was, anyway.

          • Jet Allen

Sircea was also pretty arrogant. Clever and cunning, but even she most likely didn’t have a contingency plan for EVERYTHING.

After all, none of those flashbacks showed her attending law school. Just doing badass goddess shit. That won’t hold up in court.

          • Chris Dangerfield

Oh please… court is ALL ABOUT badass goddess shit. 🙂

          • Jet Allen

In Law & Order, Ace Attorney, and Legally Blonde, yes.

          • Curt Clark

Especially Legally Blonde: The Musical. :p

          • Chris Dangerfield

Hell yeah! Why didn’t I think of Sircea belting out a power ballad. Who thinks that Idina Menzel would make an awesome Sircea? 🙂

          • Jet Allen

As I’d noted below, I personally feel Jessica Walter would be a hilariously spot-on Sircea. Well, if TYP were a full-on comedy, anyway. Always with a drink in her hand.

          • Curt Clark

Lana Parilla, for my money, would excel in the role:

            https://youtu.be/KoxAv5dxTCM

          • ComicBookGoddess

Just more argument for me to get to voice Sircea. 🙂

          • EyeDontNo

But PP didn’t actually make the deal… she sent Duncan in to do it. As mentioned later in this thread, Duncan didn’t get it out exactly as planned with the results being… less than hoped for.

  • Jet Allen

I think the more important question is, would Flyboy’s boyfriend, Corey, like Flyboy going on a movie night and holding hands with some other guy?

    • Sapfo

      Mitch has two hands ^^

      • Jet Allen

Doesn’t mean he’s necessarily okay with sharing, though.

  • Froya

Whoa, I did NOT see this coming..! What a great twist.

  • Jet Allen

That’s no excuse, young man. Go to your r-

    Oh, wait.

Also, yeesh. That hairstyle looks even more ridiculous on Dinky Duncan than it did on… fuck, I seriously HATE the term “daddy,” but – on Daddy Duncan.

    • Chris Dangerfield

Oh like you don’t have those hidden pix of you with older hair style. Give the evil villain a break. Remember he just forgot all the passwords to his online accounts.

Hasn’t he been punished enough? That is hell right THERE!

      • Jet Allen

At worst, I rocked the Nick Carter shroom cut. Dunkey looks like a monkey. I wanna call him Dunkey Kong.

And in all fairness, if he forgot his passwords to his accounts, he probably also forgot that he forgot them. Hell, he might not even remember that he HAS accounts. Or maybe Chrome has them saved or something.

        • Klaus

He still needs the password for the computer the browser is on. And to remember that the compter exists. Does he even know what a browser is?

          • Jet Allen

Plot twist: His password is “fuck passwords, let me on my fucking computer.” It’s also the hint.

Who doesn’t know what a browser is? They’re those big angry spike turtles that eat Mario.

          • Klaus

            Have you read Foucault’s Pendulum?

          • Jet Allen

            I have not.

          • Klaus

There is a really good scene where the protagonist tries to break into his collegue’s computer, He has set the password prompt (you could do that back then) to “Do you have the password?” After many failed attempts, the protagonist gets frustrated and answers “no”. That is the password.

          • Jet Allen

…That sounds hilarious, but I’m also surprised that that password was even deemed long enough.

          • Klaus

            The book is from 1988.

          • Jet Allen

            I demand retroactive standards!

          • ofwaterfall

Sorry, those browsers didn’t exist until the ’80s.

          • NoiseShaper

If it is roughly 2017 in the story, Duncan has just lost about 45 years of his memories – his last available memories may be from 1972!

Back then computers were room-sized and you usually worked on them with stacks of punch cards – if you were a specially trained operator, that is.

(Interestingly, the internet actually existed already, but the WorldWide Web was still many years away.)

          • Klaus

Back then it was the computer that was brought in on a fork lift and the manual hat was placed on your desk.

      • Omg. Didn’t think of that. The loss of passwords. The absolute horror.

    • Nate

      *Looks at Dunkie*

      *Looks in mirror*

      Ummm…

  • Mikki

    Well THAT was very unexpected…

  • Aitsuki

…. so, Duncan was a rather ugly runt of a kid, huh?

    • Jet Allen

Weren’t we all? Adolescence isn’t the kindest mistress to many of us.

      • Chris Dangerfield

Indeed… Spandex is still not a kind friend to me. 🙂

        • Kate G

Ooooooh, Spandex. That fabric that reveals all flaws. Nope, nope, nope.

On another note, I don’t want anyone seeing my pre-teen and teen photos. Man, I had some rough years. What was I thinking when I did rose red hair? *shudders*

      • Juliette Leroux

Just went through pictures of these times because of a stupid discussions with new friends who didn’t know me at the time. Want to burn them now (the pictures, not the friends).

  • Kate G

*snickers* Well, I do have to say…be careful with your wishes! Gods do have a nasty habit of misinterpreting them!

At the same time, I feel bad for Kyle. Clearly, Duncan remembers nothing; this means he would remember nothing about what he did to Kyle. This adds another layer to Kyle’s trauma. It’s great for Duncan; he doesn’t remember any of the bad things he did, but it’s going to be hard for Kyle. That’s not a wound that will heal quickly.

On the other hand, Duncan gets another chance with his powers, if they develop again. He can learn to use them for the greater good, instead for his own gain.

    • Jet Allen

“That’s not a wound that will heal quickly.”

Sorry, but that just made me picture Kyle screaming “CRAAAAWWWWWLIIIING IIIIIIN MY SKIIIIIIIIIN!!! THIS WOOOOOOUND IT WILLLLL NOT HEALLLLLL!!!!” while the rest of TYP play instruments.

  • Jet Allen

Also, this has GOTTA be really awkward for Kyle, who’s made out and touched weiners with him.

I mean, at least Duncan was physically and mentally an adult when that happened, but still. Kyle probably feels even more skeeved out about the whole thing now, if possible.

    • Chris Dangerfield

Anybody who writes, “touching wieners” wins the this page’s adorable award. *Applause*

      • bronakopdin

        hahaha agreed xD

      • Jet Allen

        *bows*

I wanted to write “slapped their expanded dongs together,” but that doesn’t work without the ability to post a picture of Donkey Kong.

        • Chris Dangerfield

Okay but I just snorted my drink up my nose… so you win.

          • Jet Allen

I won?! YES! *cue A Moment Like This*

  • Sapfo

I really would go for a happy ending.
And I´m glad you are still around, and AJ still have a newspaper 😉

    • Chris Dangerfield

Heeeeeee…. oh that newspaper I remember it well.

      • Sapfo

        and muffins

  • bronakopdin

    HOOOOOOLY CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAP
    O___________________O
I mean… wow… it seems the “eternal youth” wish he named to Laampros was at least fulfilled with the “youth” part… now the question is, whether it might be “eternal”
in any case… I seriously didn’t expect THIS!!
I mean doh with the way Alex managed to delay Duncan’s reapprearing over these last couple pages I knew there would be SOMETHING but as always I guess noone would have guessed we’ll see a little Duncan now… at least not this kind of little Duncan… omg I’m such trash x’D
No really, Alex… yet again you never disappoint to surprise!! I know why I love this comic so much and that includes the fact you’re the author 🙂
but ofc also the fact Adam and Vero are the atists 😀

  • Sabrina Vögeli

Recently I really hate Patreon not accepting my Paypal. ò.ó

    • bronakopdin

when I make new pledges in the beginning it wouldn’t accept my paypal either, I first had to pledge via credit card and afterwards change it to paypal and then it worked fine for me, maybe try this if you have a credit card?

      • Sabrina Vögeli

Nope, credit and debit cards aren’t very common in my country. People here barely know Paypal, as cash and bank card are the ‘only real thing’. So theres no possibility for me to pledge by now. It really sucks, I came up at a lot of great artists recently, which I would have loved to support, even if it only was for once or twice.

        • bronakopdin

          that is really sad D:
you could try to contact the patreon staff to maybe help set up your paypal to your account! They are normally really helpful! Good luck with this 🙂

    • Chris Dangerfield

I hear you. This page and this comic as a whole deserves $ (or whatever money your country demands of you). I trust you will find a way.

I want Alex posting to us forever from his mansion on his vineyard in the Wine Country…. HA!

    • I would suggest you email/contact Patreon. Maybe there’s an issue they haven’t covered yet, but they need to know there’s an issue to possibly change it.

  • Jet Allen

In all fairness, technically, the others do remember – though they weren’t actually THERE to witness it in person. On the other hand, he does have the full support of his team, now. Gordon’s come around, Mitch and Spooky pretty much know where he’s coming from in very different respects (Mitch on the sexuality thing, Spooky on the traumatic experiences with Hell thing), Paul doesn’t care, Amanda freaking ships Spooky with all of them anyway, and – well – Spooky returns his feelings.

So, that’ll probably all help a lot. He’s in a very good place right now, mentally. He might still have some nightmares or issues with it, because that’s to be expected, but he’s got a good system in place to help him cope, and promising days ahead.

…I mean, unless Alex turns into a total dick and has the laser bear come back and maul everyone to death or something. And then, I would laugh, and laugh, and laugh, and the sound would echo eternally throughout time and space.

  • I was not expecting this, I sense Duncan may stay like this for awhile and maybe a love triangle might happen? Hmm

    • Jet Allen

…I hope not. Kyle having conflicted feelings over what looks to be a 12/13-year-old would… yeech. Especially since he actually wound up with a pretty goddamn great guy in Spooky.

      • bronakopdin

but it doesn#t have to happen immediately, in the long term those few years aren’t too big a difference, especially compared to the difference before and a Duncan this young might turn out superb with the right upbringing from here on out, who knows?

        • Chris Dangerfield

Nope. No sex with peeps before they hair up.

(I just wrote that to make some of you squeal…) Heh.

          • bronakopdin

I already said this is only an option with an already older again Duncan, like in a few years ^^ that is what I meant with “not immediately” 🙂

(but I laughed anyway, thaks a bunch xD)

        • Jet Allen

Still, it seems like too much unnecessary drama. No point to it. Plus, it seems like it’d undo Kyle’s development and maturity.

And the long term is the long term. Duncan can grow back up, superb and virtuous this time, and move on to someone else without all the history and baggage. It’s his chance to start with a cleaner slate, so Kyle doesn’t necessarily need to be on that slate.

          • bronakopdin

dude…. this is a comic, why read/write it if there is no drama?! xDDDD
and why would it be undoing Kyle’s maturing? Who knows under which circumstances this all might happen? Maybe Spooky and he kinda see they have diff expectations from this, none is happy and there is another dude fitting better? It is rather only mature to break off sth that won’t work out anymore and try to find happiness elsewhere than trying to reattach a sea of shards over and over

and again I talk about “in a few years” when oads of things could have happened and ofc this Duncan is older again

also this is all specualtion and “what if” anyway ^^

          • Jet Allen

“dude…. this is a comic, why read/write it if there is no drama?!”

I didn’t say there shouldn’t be any drama. Of course there should be drama, GOOD drama, just… the idea of making this into an opportunity for a love triangle seems shoehorned and repetitive, to me.

And I know it’s speculation and what-if. I’m just providing my opinion on it. It’s just an idea I personally feel wouldn’t work out.

          • bronakopdin

I really think it all depends on how it would be presented and seriously, in a way everything is repititive, it just depends on how it is worked with, I think with the right set up and explanations it could very well be a good way to go later on in the comic, it really just depend on how and why we would end up there
and btw I was also just giving my opinion, no need to get it the wrong way 🙂

          • Jet Allen

I’m presenting my opinion, too. I’m not getting it “the wrong way,” I’m just disagreeing. It’s allowed, or so I’d hope. It’s not like I’m being uncivilized about it or anything.

Either way, arguing in circles gets nobody anywhere. I don’t like the idea, you do, I don’t, you do, I’m done, goodnight.

          • bronakopdin

well with that comment at the end I was about to end this discussion about opinions bc you really just have seemed to get it in some wrong way or you wouldn’t react like this now, I never said you couldn’t say anything, so I wonder why you feel the need to defend yourself so hard now, there was never anythiing wrong with what any of us said to begin with, ok? ^^
you were the one making this a circle, but I agree that it should be done now

          • I agree, I think Duncan will always be a love interest to Kyle, I mean the comic cover is of them two, Kyle might want to help Duncan to be good this time, and Spooky might disagree with it all. I still think a love triangle might happen

          • bronakopdin

I don’t know if Spooky would disagree but maybe he would get jealous over the attention Kyle is giving to Duncan or sth, but in the end I guess Alex as the master of surprises would top whatever we can come up with ourselves xD

          • Klaus

Spooky is not the monogamous type. If Kyle is, that may be he reason for a breakup. Which I expect to be amicable.

          • ComicBookGoddess

He isn’t? How do we know?

          • Klaus

Good question. From the text stories, I think. Or from his cards.

          • ComicBookGoddess

Awww. I haven’t seen those, of yet. But how it was presented is important. Promiscuity outside of a relationship isn’t necessarily the same as being non-monogamous… and I’m kinda hoping Alex wouldn’t go that way with the main out bisexual character. I dislike that stereotype.

Not that I have anything against polyamory, but it can be difficult for some people.

          • ComicBookGoddess

Okay, back now cause I read the stories. Dude isn’t necessarily non-monogamous because he loves someone that he can’t be with, nor is he necessarily non-monogamous because deep in his heart he wants to have everyone he loves at the same time. I love my poly friends, but you may have noticed that monogamy has even more inertia in society than heterosexuality does.

I haven’t seen the romance cards yet, but… in the main story and the prose so far, he is the only confirmed bisexual character. He isn’t particularly modest, which is great… but it would sadden me if he was stereotypically unwilling to commit to one partner.

          • Klaus

He has a history of short relationships. That does not necessarily mean that he will not settle down one day.

          • ComicBookGoddess

Settling down into a stable poly relationship is settling down AND non-monogamous. 🙂 So far, he’s been acting heartbroken, attractive, optimistic, and opportunistic. It might be time for him to explore the deeper side of things again. Can’t get much deeper than somebody who literally saved your life when others had given up.

      • Klaus

According to the script, he looks 15 or 16. Which is also what I think.

      • Chris Dangerfield

Agreed… especially with the seriously flaming fists and the the line, “DUNCAN, IT’S OVER AND YOU’RE GOING TO PAY FOR WHAT YOU’VE DONE…”

This is after Kyle’s “Earth” fire blew Daddy through the portal and saved the world.

I think his feeling (at least today) are about as clear as they’re gonna get. Let me tell you, you don’t forget and forgive rape, abuse, or whatever you choose to call what Old-Duncan did to 18 year old Kyle on his birthday.

I just don’t see any “conflicted feelings” (as Jet Allen references above) at all. Kyle has been attracted to Spooky for a long time (go back to the bonus comic where he reveals that he slept naked with Spooky to keep him warm).

If you need to think that Duncan and Kyle are a “ship” then I’ve learned that I can’t change your mind, but I love this page because it implies that Kyle and Duncan (and Spooky) may find happiness.

Also it’s pretty clear that Spooky and Amanda and Bi (or I think so), so if Kyle can deal (and Amanda is a big YES and I say that as a gay man) with Amanda then the three of them might be VERY happy.

The options for various happy endings are endless.

I apologize to Silibub, but if Sircea isn’t pleased. I can handle that. :/

        Yes I feel shame (sorta).

Just be happy you lot of spandex wearing hotties! 😀

        • ComicBookGoddess

We haven’t seen if Amanda is attracted to women, have we? We only know through hearsay that she was attracted to Spooky… and Spooky is attractive to EVERYONE. 🙂

We only know that she is a SpookySexual.

    • Chris Dangerfield

So, if you get married and your wife dies. Then you get remarried. And you all die. Can you have three-ways in heaven?

      Just curious.

      • bronakopdin

I guess it depends on how anyone imagines heaven actually, if we talk about the Christian heaven with all the prudery I doubt it x’D

        • Jonni

I seem to recall Jesus saying that in heaven everyone is like the angels, with no male or female. So no-one has naughty bits to do naughty stuff with.

          • Klaus

In heaven there shall be no marriage, we shall be like angels in that regard. So angles are promiscous. Funny that I have not realised that until today. I have always taken it to mean that hey are sexless.

          • bronakopdin

again: that is considering we even talk about a Christian heaven ^^

          • Jonni

True, that has been the ongoing assumption. The thought that did occur to me is that Anni did refer to the artefacts that let Laampros into the world as the keys to paradise, so maybe heaven is more a matter of perspective than an actual place?

          • bronakopdin

            interesting thought 😀

      • That’s a random question, but when I think about it…I’m not sure, I think it depends on if the wife swings that way but then again I don’t think sex happens in heaven lol

        • Chris Dangerfield

          Then. NOT. Heaven. LOL.

          • Pietro7

I believe the expectation is that bodiless souls have much different post-life ecstatic relationships that humans do. Implies that union with God is more-or-less an eternal orgasm, I suppose.

      • Klaus

Jesus answers just that question in the Bible, only with seven husbands rather than two.

        • Chris Dangerfield

          Heh heh heh….

        • Jet Allen

          Seven?

          Hmm.

Well… anus, mouth, vagina, nostrils, ears, eye sockets, urethra if one is feeling adventurous… yeah, I guess a person can have more than enough holes to do seven dudes at once.

          • Chris Dangerfield

And every one of those orifices created by the Goddess above. 🙂

        • Jet Allen

Okay, my comment was nowhere near as bad as some I’ve seen on here. I mean, one of the users on here has his bare ass as his profile picture. How the hell is my comment where I NAME PARTS OF THE BODY worthy of deletion? And don’t say “it was in poor taste” when we have people rooting for a rape victim to end up with his rapist…

      • purplefoxglove

…I think that is exactly the question Ascanio asks in one of the Kate Daniels novels ^_^

        • Chris Dangerfield

Darn, you are absolutely right. I knew I’d read that somewhere. My fact-checking quote department is a shambles. Thank you.

          • purplefoxglove

            You’re welcome! 🙂

  • Chris Dangerfield

    You too love one!

  • Concerto

I am a bit scared for our heroes. Like, if duncan is a kid who the army is going to arrest ? I hope it will not be kyle because of a misunderstanding.

    • bronakopdin

well they can just explain the situation
I guess they have to arrest the boy anyway bc we don’t know how long this youth spell might work, he could turn back to his normal age any second so better be safe than sorry

    • Jet Allen

Army arrives, Duncan’s face lights up as he points at Kyle:

Duncan: Oh, wait! I remember you! We did sex once!

Kyle: You little son of a-

*Army turns guns on Kyle with suspicious glares*

Kyle: Uhhh, I can explain! See, he was 58 then-

Duncan: I’m this many! *holds up fingers*

Kyle: I fucking hate you so much right now.

      • Concerto

        XD oh god hahaha.

      • timemonkey

Duncan’s in the 15-16 range, Kyle’s only 18, nobody would care if they had sex.

    • Chris Dangerfield

Who… you mean Harry Potter here. We don’t know anyone name Duncan. Do you Amanda? You Mitch? You Paul? Nope?

Sorry sir, we can’t help you, but we’ll call if we see him. Heeeeeeeee….

      • Jet Allen

        Enter Spooky (phrasing!):

“Hey, gu-holy shit, what happened to Duncan?”

*cut to TYP groaning in exasperation; Spooky gives the fourth wall a smug look as Duncan is dragged off in shackles*

      • Pietro7

In that case, better get him out of those rags and into something nondescript – that outfit is too well known. Or maybe Spooky can change it into jeans and a t-shirt?

      • EyeDontNo

        Upvoted for Harry Potter!!

  • bronakopdin

damn I am staring at these last panels, oyung Duncan is so freaaaking adorable x’D
I mean doh, we all know he’ll be a hottie when he’s grown but seing this boy… One could even think he’d turn out like the pretty cute type x3 yet you totally see his face! This awesome!!! Big thumbs up for Adam and vero to create this young Duncan

    • Chris Dangerfield

Yes indeed. Hard to do. And very well done.

  • Duncan’s alive, but the Annihilator’s dead. If the effect of the bargain is permanent that person’s gone, as dead as if his body had been destroyed rather than rejuvenated. He tried to save the world even if he made terrible choices about how to do so; I’m glad he had the chance to acknowledge that he did have other options, and give the team what help he could with what he knew about the spell.

  • Saxon_Brenton

I’d have to check, but I’m pretty sure this was one of the ideas that we readers came up with when we were spitballing demented ideas when it first became apparent what the deal that Annihilator and the Priestess were making with Laampros.

A further idea: Maybe Annihilator is still regressing. He specified immortality and eternal youth, and he can’t have that if he de-ages out of existence completely, but do you put it past Laampros to turn Anni back to infancy? To zygotehood?

    • Chris Dangerfield

You never disappoint Saxon. “Zygotehood” — nice.

    • Jet Allen

Now, I’m just thinking of The Summer I Shrank My Grandmother, or that episode of Futurama where the Planet Express crew regresses through infancy and towards complete non-existence.

      • Klaus

        Anyone remember Glorith?

        • Saxon_Brenton

Yes. Admittedly only through reprints of the original Legion stories, but I presume you’re referring to the original version of Glorith from the 1960s.

          • Klaus

            Exactly.

  • Jet Allen

Next question out of Duncan’s mouth: “Jesus Christ, what the fuck am I wearing? What idiot picked this out?”

  • LimpBiskit

Oh, look! A new potential YP member and a genuine chance-for-redemption op… I wonder if this qualifies for a nature vs nurture study lol

    • timemonkey

Maybe they fell off because they’re way too big?

      • eldestdawn

no no, it’s a coloring issue. the hands were supposed to be flesh colored in panel 1. the gloves are partially destroyed and only the wrist band is still there in the remaining panels.

  • SofiaT

    Baby Duncan is adorable!

  • Earl Patterson

wow young look cute than older lol. Maybe they could recruiter him into team

  • Minyassa

Oh dear. Now they have to *raise* him. :/ I hope at least one of them was prepared for early parenthood…

    • He’s a teenager. I think Commander and Tsu are well known with teenagers *looks at half the team*

      • Minyassa

I wouldn’t have known he was over 11 or 12 if you hadn’t told me…I guess I am just getting old. xD

    • Curt Clark

Fortunately, he’s still old enough to have grasped the basics of toilet training,

  • Cheshire

Wait, wait, wait. Did Duncan conveniently just regain consciousness right at this moment? That seems highly unlikely. If he’s been conscious for a while, then he saw at least some of what’s been going on (which draws into question his complete obliviousness). My theory is that he’s playing up this age regression to get off the hook. Which is a great plan, by the way!

    • NoiseShaper

Why not? It’s not been that long, and his transformation probably took a while too.

And before the two showed up he was almost certainly trying to deal with his confusion and disorientation on his own which is quite understandable under the circumstances.

  • Geneva150

Umm…what?! I did NOT see that coming! I’m gonna miss silver fox, sly Duncan 🙁 I’m kinda sad now.

    • ofwaterfall

Hi! Same here, but he has a chance at a happier life now. Before, he had so much guilt and bitterness from his actions and how he was treated. Without his memories and his public face, he can kind of start over.

      • Geneva150

True true, I get that, but I just loved how powerful and sure of himself Duncan was before. I know this is just the first time seeing lil Duncan, but that memory loss looks like it could be a handful.

        • ofwaterfall

Yeah, people here bash him, but the silver fox was the biggest reason I follow this comic. I still want to know what will happen with Duncan. Now, though, the power dynamics are completely different. His identity won’t be the same. In a a sense, he died during the fighting. I’m going to struggle with that. What’s helping is the thought that this is what Duncan might have secretly yearned for–a chance to go back to his innocence, before he felt as if he had to manipulate the chaos that could destroy him without warning.

          • Geneva150

I loved the age difference so much between him and Kyle. I was always rooting for his redemption but also shipping him with Kyle. Though with the whole Spooky revelation there is no reason for Kyle to go back to the person who literally used him for sex to try to distroy the world.
I will obviously keep reading, but I’d be lying that Lil Duncan has me in mourning.

  • Sherika

I mean…at least Duncan sort of kind of got his wish???

  • Adam Black

Did Duncan lose his memory as a side effect of his deal ? Or from the Blast ?

Is he younger than the Age he got his powers ?

    Does Duncan have powers ?
Blaming Yng Duncan for what happened could backfire spectacularly. And JUST put him back on the same path to Villaindom.

    • Klaus

I would think that he has been regressed back to 15 or years old, physically and mentally. He has lost all newer memories.

      • Adam Black

Does this make him a virgin again?

  • Jeff Baker

Okay—-did not see that coming! “Big Anni, Little Anni?”

  • Pikinanou

Warning: don’t drink coffee while reading this page, I almost scrapped my computer! XD I was not expecting that!

  • Cecilie Muldkjær Bredesen

Oh my god, I was just thinking how it could be fun if he had been made a kid, instead of just younger.

  • Nofsky8

Huh, he’s cute, but I wonder where this is going,

    • Saxon_Brenton

      Arguably, more headaches for Commander.

First and foremost, try and read Anni’s mind. Maybe those mental shields the Priestess put in place have been fritzed. If so, check to see whether the memory loss is for real or a fake-out. If not, then pass the question on to a psychiatrist who’ll be able to work out the state of Anni’s headspace the old fashioned and lengthy way.

Medium term, when the military arrives, Anni will need to go into custody, at least until the situation is stable and under control. Depending on exactly how much Anni remembers, and what sort of legal wrangling goes on to pin culpability on him (ala various She Hulk comic series that have explored the legal nitty-gritty of superhuman weird crap situations), AND if Anni still has his powers, then it’s quite possible that some sort of work release scheme might be set up.

Now, which established superteam for either emotionally damaged young supers (Red Hot), powers that are too dangerous (Fluke) or just tearaway who get themselves thrown off teams because they break the rules (Flyboy) do we know of?

Commander (facepalming) “Oh crap. It’s me isn’t it?”

  • Tristan Black Wolf

What the obscene-gerund-deleted hell just happened?! Kyle grew up and the Anni “grew down”?

    • Remember the deal he and PP made with Laampros about being younger? They should have spefied it more, or at least Duncan should, not sure if PP is also a teenager again.

      Deals with devils are risky.

  • Dayum. I leave for a few hours and the comments section goes wild.

All it took was a teenage Duncan. He still have the power to make people react.

    • Juliette Leroux

Yeah, that’s a special super hero power he kept.

    • davefragments

I fell asleep at 2am and woke to 200 new comments…

      • Almost same here. Comments had doubled + a little more. We had a really good and active campin on previoius page, and this one still has more comments already. Only a half day after upload. You can never know what sets of comments 🙂

  • Jason Wexler

I had a sneaking suspicion Kyle and Duncan were going to end up together somehow… after all who else can handle sex with Kyle. However this method of getting there never occurred to me.

    • You forget that Kyle has gotten more control of his fire. I think he’ll handle sex muuch better now.

    • Curt Clark

      1) It’s unknown if Duncan has his powers back now that he’s rejuvenated.

      2) He looks decidedly underage.

      3) After what grown-up Duncan did to him, Kyle will likely still have mountains of baggage, even if teeny-Duncan doesn’t remember it.

      • Jet Allen

Re: Point 3, it’s depressing how much I’ve seen people rooting for Kyle to get with Duncan – even before the reset deal – after Duncan practically used and raped him. Even if Duncan tried to justify it with that “greater good” and “man, I feel terrible and I actually really cared for him” shit.

I get the feeling if he weren’t attractive, he’d be getting far less support to work things out with Kyle.

        • ofwaterfall

I have a feeling that a bunch of us who imagined a romance continuing between Duncan and Kyle have our baggage with sex and can think up ways that characters move on with it.

    • timemonkey

There’s never been any indication Kyle has any interest in being with Duncan again. He was barely into it the first time around.

  • Juliette Leroux

Yeah, 100% in agreement there. I’m just more annoyed by the fact he will never be judged for his crimes, but hey, that’s life I guess.

  • You were where *Kyle was… right?

Otherwise yes, I think a lot of us has/will have people we regret being with and/or things we regret doing with them.

    • Chris Dangerfield

Yes, thanks I fixed that name mix-up. You are correct. Thank you.

  • Mary Klemzak

Well this is an interesting turn of events.

  • Jim Philbrick

    WOW… interesting unexpected twist!!

  • Hamish C

Yeah, somehow I don’t think this is what Duncan had in mind when he asked for youth and perfect health without end. I do wonder what Sircea is going to look like as a tween platinum priestess? Also, as others have noted: with that amnesia present, future team recruits, perhaps? Though, Duncan really is going to have to rethink his name. He can’t be the Annihilator when he’s an innocent 12-year-old cherub.

    • Curt Clark

I dunno, “Annihilator” has always sounded like the name a 12-year-old would take and run with.

      • EyeDontNo

        You mean like “Red Hot”?

        • Curt Clark

Hey, Kyle himself admitted that he realizes the name was dumb. :p It’s just a little late to change it at this point.

  • SchalaRenee

Well…Duncan has his youth. Wonder if PP has HER youth? I hope her youth turned her into a hot young 20-something…

    • Morgan

      Ooh. Same here.

  • NoiseShaper

I think knowing that the Duncan who did this to him was effectively erased from existence as a result of his crimes does count towards justice, in a way. And in addition to all the other positives I could imagine that that might help.

  • Curt Clark

I’m as lost for words as Kyle. The Duncan who betrayed him, but for whom his feelings are still complicated, is gone.

Whether the memories are repressed or just “un-happened” out altogether, they’re looking at someone completely new here…or at the very least, someone who hasn’t existed since their (human) parents were born, at least.

  • Was it Laampros’ plan all along, to trick him/them in his/their youth wish? Or did he twisted it as a last spiteful reprisal spell?

So, now Duncan is underage… And just the day Kyle wasn’t anymore!!! Will there always be age incompatibility? If Duncan really has eternal youth, will he be ~12 for ever, or turn back to 12 just before he reach adulthood over and over again???

  • davefragments

Think of the “deal” made with Laampros – Stop, go back to chapter 2 about page 30 and read the sequence of events forward… The words out of Duncan’s mouth of what he wants are “I want youth, perfect health, and not just for me…” and then Laampros interrupts. Duncan shows him the “Key to Paradise” and when he starts to add details to the deal (like the Americas as his and Sircea’s), Kyle almost breaks free of the fiery spell.
The deal is never stated beyond “I want youth, perfect health, and not just for me…”
One of the reasons that I’m a chemical engineer rather than lawyer is “contracts.” Dry as dust, soul killing contracts. However, I know the elements of a contract.
My personal preferences aside: Duncan made an offer and an incomplete offer, an imprecise offer. Laampros accepted and fulfilled the deal that narrowly, very narrowly met that misstated offer — youth.
And what I think Lammpros intended was to “raise” the juvenile Duncan to be his scorned and evil representative — Think Regent Laampros to juvenile King Duncan being raised to torture, same, kill, enslave, (all the other tyrannical goodies). Of course, the Regent Laampros would always find plots against his young charge and defend the throne.
And one last thought – Duncan would get his “immortality” in the Hell dimension.
    That’s my modest proposition.

    • Pietro7

Sounds very Laampros-like. Are you sure you’re not a lawyer, Dave? 🙂

      • davefragments

I’d rather have my hemorrhoids eaten by rabid rats.
Sorry, that’s really lurid and snarky …
I am very happy with pumps, pipes, valves, heat transfer, sensible heat, and chemical reactions. I Was that little nerd in freshman year of high school that said “I wanna be an engineer” and that’s what I did for my life.

  • Shiny Gwilly

    oh
    OH
    oh
well, the deal went through…..now the question is is that a bad thing or a good thing? i say good thing for now…at the moment
Duncan should’ve worded things better, which is funny considering him wooing Kyle with false promises (oh, some irony there it seems)

  • Richard Grant Muir

Well, I know a couple people called the “mysteriously deaged & new chance at life” thing. I will miss Silver Fox Duncan, however. My ‘ship’ has sailed (sigh).

    • NoiseShaper

That ship was mostly sunk by Duncan’s own accumulated baggage, so given all the options this is probably for the best.

      • Richard Grant Muir

Naw. Every good romance needs pathos. And Duncan did what he did to save the world. Yes, he had selfish byproducts, but that wasn’t the main reason.

  • Jac

Looks like he’s already paid, Kyle.

    • NoiseShaper

No, but he had his account reset to its teenage state.

      • Jac

        Hah!

  • fujoshifanatic

Um, Duncan doesn’t look much older than Spooky was when he wound up in hell, maybe even younger. I think I see a new member of TYP blossoming here. Although that would be real awkward for Kyle, considering how they met. Did not see this one coming; I’m impressed, Alex! 😀

  • Jason Moon

For some reason, THIS popped into my head the instant I saw NuDuncan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgPFXXhzBCE

  • Pietro7

Big time, and that’s a good thing. 🙂

  • Larkle

Well, shit. He reverted back to a child. Complete with erasing of adult memories.

And if I’m remembering his deal with Laampros correctly, he’s never going to get older?

    • Klaus

      Youth and pefect health unending.

      • Larkle

Yep, that was it. I guess that’s his new forever age.

  • Pietro7

Good point, Noise Shaper. Thanks for that observation.

  • fujoshifanatic

Another question comes to mind; if Anni has now been “reset” and his memories erased as the result made with the devil himself (which no doubt leads to a one-way ticket to hell for his soul), isn’t this a particularly cruel thing to happen to him, since he has no memory of his deal or past life, and could possibly (under TYP’s care) go on to do much good during the second chance at life he has been given? I wonder if there is a way to undo the deal or take it back at this point. Laampros was not destroyed; he was merely driven back to whence he came, so he will collect his final payment when the time comes, no doubt with interest and penalties since his end of the bargain fell through. I guess I’m putting the cart before the horse at this point, but it is something to think about.

    • Klaus

We have no reason to think that devils collect souls. The sacrifice was a sacrifice of lives, not of souls. The gate opened even though Spooky saved the souls. Laampros was not in the least interested in the souls Spooky was carrying. And we have no indication that any souls go to Hell after death.

The deal with Laampros was for opening the gate. This was delivered.

  • Jason Wexler

Perhaps not, but the epilogue that we’ll be seeing later this summer, doesn’t necessarily have to happen next week (in story time), it can be five years down the line.

I don’t share the hostility towards Duncan that seems to permeate the comment section, I think Duncan legitimately believed he was doing the best thing to solve a hard problem, and I respect him for being willing to make hard choices. Plus with Spooky and Amanda already “together” and the fact that it’s been pretty clear that Duncan and Kyle both really liked each other in spite of the circumstances, they could still reasonably end up together.

    • Jet Allen

I’ll have to disagree there. I really can’t condone the whole thing where Duncan basically took advantage of Kyle’s vulnerability, loneliness, and confusion, made his first sexual experience extremely traumatic (I mean, what he did can pretty much be argued to have been rape) – and would Duncan have done this if HE weren’t getting something for himself out of the deal?

No matter how much remorse he’s shown later, and what other greater good he said this was done for, he put Kyle through Hell literally AND figuratively for selfish means. Not to mention the other hostages. Sure, he’s got a second chance now, but that doesn’t mean Kyle should go back to him – you know, back to a guy who sexually assaulted him, and please don’t tell me that THAT can be erased just because Duncan got reset, because that’s goddamn insulting and pretty much invalidating what Kyle went through – because the shippers can’t accept that maybe they’re NOT meant to end up together.

Not to mention, Spooky and Amanda WERE together… I believe it was confirmed, maybe in the bonus comic, that they’re no longer a thing. Couples can break up and stay platonic friends

  • Is Duncan going to be part of TYP? And his relationship with Kyle is gonna come back? Love triangle with Spooky? Or is he too young for that?

    • Klaus

I don’t think that a two or three year difference in age would be an obstacle. And Spooky is not the monogamous sort. I expect that Spooky will have a short sexual relationship with his friend because that is what Kyle needs right now, and move on when Kyle finds someone more permanent. Given time, depending on how things, and especially Duncan, develop, this could be Duncan. But not right now.

  • Mitch recently turned 15 and was on another team before that. He got kicked off the team for extracurricular hero-ing.

  • davefragments

Amanda has experience taking teens with emerging superpowers and turning them into good citizens who help people rather than get crazy and criminal with their powers.
Will this new Duncan be a good fit on her team?

    • Klaus

But will his powers emerge? His powers “didn’t manifest until puberty”. He is well into puberty now. The power loss comes from the dampener, not from youth. Will it wear off?

  • Shadizar Silvermask

Ahhhh, now that’s a standard demonic double-cross when it comes to twisting the wording of a pact. Thing is though while it was done to screw him over it carries the irony of giving him a second chance in life and effectively kills the Duncan that committed the crimes so he has a good chance at living a much happier, enriching life now.

  • Wildroses

So Laampros kept his word. What a jerk. Does this mean we have a teenage Platinum Priestess wandering around confused as hell needing to be taken under someone’s wing somewhere?

    • Takehai

Maybe. Maybe not. She was _thousands_ of years old. Maybe Laampros couldn’t turn back the clock for her as far…

    • Shadizar Silvermask

Depends on how her wish was worded, presumably she’d be way better at working up a loophole-free contract than Duncan was.

  • Kate G

I had to sit on this all night because I honestly didn’t know how to respond without getting a little angry. I had therapy today which helped me figure out how to respond because you’ve hit on something a bit personal.

As far as I know, his team does remember what happened to him; that hasn’t been erased from their minds. The way he looked hasn’t been erased. It’s only gone from Duncan.

In that way, it can compound a trauma when one remembers the trauma and the other doesn’t. It isn’t the person who doesn’t remember’s fault, it just is. In some ways, the only way to truly understand that is to go through it yourself.

See, I can’t help that if nearly three years later, I’m just starting to excavate the feelings of hurt that I had after my grams had her stroke. She became a completely different person post-stroke. She had memory problems when she used to not have them. She couldn’t talk for a while (and even when she could, it was poor) and she said, “I can’t.” The grams I knew didn’t say that. She would yell too. That wasn’t my grams. For the six months and two days she was alive, I had to figure out a way just to gather courage to see her.

I live with that. She didn’t know she was any different. We did. It affected us. Her having a brain stem stroke – the worst stroke you can have – was one trauma all ready, but then we had to deal with everything that came after that so it never seemed to end. She was aware when she had something called partial locked-in syndrome and she was aware when she was dying, but she was never aware of how much she changed. She was very much this new Duncan and I was very much Kyle. I had known a different Grams one day, suffered a terrible trauma, and then it never ended. I’m still in therapy, nearly three years later.

I can’t regret her changing. It wasn’t her fault she did. She had a stroke. I don’t regret seeing her. I don’t regret taking Zena to say goodbye to her (Zena loved her and so did my grams.) The hurt is just there. Kyle may never regret his experience because it taught him about assholes, but even if he did, the hurt is still going to be there.

    • Chris Dangerfield

That is a very good point. I think I was all in “positive mode” and didn’t want to think about the very true fact that seriously traumatic life-events don’t leave Kyle or anyone easily or quickly.

I’ve had very different life experiences. I’m sorry that yours have been filled with such hard challenges. Wishing you well and that things get better.

      Take care.

      • Kate G

We’re all different people and that gives us different perspectives. My parents have different perspectives on my grams than I do. I process slower because of autism, so it takes me longer and sometimes that digs things deeper when I realize something. I’m an optimist (and any who knew me in life would tell you that), but it’s these cracks where you see my not-so-positive side.

It’s been weird to think I’ve been reading YP for longer than 3 years! Time flies.

  • Gaz Hawkins

so if Duncan is pre-teen does this mean he has not yet got his powers? most get their powers when they hit the teen years – raging hormones = raging powers etc.

little sad that sexy, hairy daddy Duncan is gone. but then, sexy, hairy, hunky Duncan is about to become

of course, this Duncan may be a regular human and not have any powers.

    • NoiseShaper

I have a feeling that in this world his powers will still manifest as they had before – as will his sexual preference. And that he hasn’t healed already suggests that his powers aren’t up to speed as of yet.

But maybe if this time he’ll have a less threatening and less damaging environment to grow up in, and that could make all the difference.

      • Takehai

Whether he has healed is debatable, since he doesn’t have the black eye and fat lip he was sporting when we last saw him, but that could be put down to to the “turning back the clock” effect.

        • Klaus

          A very good point indeed.

    • Madock345

He’s going to stay this way forever though, his deal with Laampros was for eternal youth.

      • Adam Black

Forever Twink might have quite a porn career ahead of him.

    • Klaus

He is not pre-teen. The script specifies 15 or 16, which I think Adam has shown really well. Duncan did get his powers at puberty. I would say that the absense of powers and the youth are two entirely unrelated effects.

  • motordog

You don’t suppose Duncan is possibly faking the amnesia? It would be a good way out of paying at least some of the consequences of his past actions.

I, too, will miss the silver daddy Annihilator…but this is an interesting twist.

  • Madock345

He did say that he’s totally psychically blank to her. If that’s a function of his powers instead of training it could reasonably still be around, and if it’s training he might be able to fake someone else’s thoughts instead of just hiding his own, especially if those thoughts are relatively simple, like those of a scared child.

  • Adam Black

Do we know what age Duncan got his powers ?

  • Klaus

The world has not been saved. The walls between the Earth and Hell are weakening. We don’t have to take PP’s word for this. Spooky said the same thing the day he retutned from Hell, six years ago. When it comes to them breaking down soon, we only have PP’s word, though.

    • NoiseShaper

Compared to what was immediately about to happen, it’s definitely saved, if only at this time.

Keeping it saved for the long haul may be another matter, but this win at least creates a chance for that, too.

      • Klaus

The world has not been saved from the threat that the murder of those victims were meant to save it from.

        • NoiseShaper

One victory at a time, but one failure would have been the end already!

  • Kate G

Oh, definitely. I get a lot of support from my family and friends, but it still takes time. Grief – no matter what kind you go through – takes time to work through. But one can’t assume a person will let it go because no one remembers if that’s the case. It usually festers from my experience!

  • T Dibbler

Well, I did not expect that.

  • Cuix

Aww, man, even Anni is gonna get a good guy reset?

    • NoiseShaper

Neutral for now, I’d presume, with just a chance for good.

      • Cuix

Yeah, but it’s just another set of consequences and discomfort wiped neatly clean. Oh, that bad guy? No no, he’s okay now, and we should be sympathetic and take care of him. And, hey, bonus, now any romance that Dad!Anni still felt is gone, so that complication is tucked away.

        • NoiseShaper

At least I personally wouldn’t have had much use for rapist and would-be mass murderer Duncan either way, and his confrontation with causes and consequences has already taken place in the story we’ve seen. There wouldn’t have been much to add beyond a pretty long prison sentence.

This twist is a lot more interesting than that would have been.

        • timemonkey

Having your entire life and personality erased is a consequence. The Duncan we knew is now dead and gone. And any potential romantic feelings he might have had wouldn’t have mattered anyway since it’s been made clear over and over Kyle isn’t interested anymore. Yes, readers have still been shipping it but anything between them died wen Duncan cast that spell that took them to Hell.

          • ComicBookGoddess

Which was, we should remember… YESTERDAY…

  • Jac

Oh, I don’t know about that. He has to be a teenager again. Give it time.

  • Jac

Quick: someone ask Duncan if he thinks Blockbuster still exists!

    • NoiseShaper

      I bet he does!

  • NoiseShaper

I just re-read the pertinent pages and it seems he just bargained for youth and then unending perfect health, so at least by the letter he should in fact be able to grow up.

  • David Welbourn

While I was half-maybe half-sorta expecting a youthful Duncan as a possibility, I don’t think I really fully expected it, and certainly not with amnesia. I was thinking a de-powered young Duncan would still have tactical skills plus whatever armouries, secret caches, and hideouts he already owns to draw from. But this is a different ballgame altogether. Nice twist.

    • David Welbourn

I just thought of something else. If the amnesia is a by-product of the youthening effect and if Duncan’s youth is permanent, this might be a curse of changelessness. What if not only can Duncan never get hurt and never get old, but also can never remember anything new? He might be asking “where am I” and “who are you” for centuries.

      • Klaus

But he is hurt. So perfect health unending does not preclude injuries.

        • David Welbourn

I see that he’s still hurt. But I’m thinking the perfect health part of the curse has yet to be granted but might well go into effect in the next few minutes. The devil is really in the details of these things.

          • ComicBookGoddess

            Gotta be the dampener explosion.

    • It may not be amnesia as much as he was reset for teenager, so that all he has done since then is gone from his knowledge.

  • Klaus
  • ofwaterfall

I’m not sure how much he wanted ruling power for himself over freedom for himself and as many people whose lives he could bargain for in what looked to him as a worst-case scenario… but, I agree this is better than total death, youth alone within Hell with all of his memories, and other nasty alternatives.

    • NoiseShaper

His old mirror image in the memories and the pain in all the other people around him still exists, but he doesn’t really deserve the blame any more.

It’s the kind of interesting development this kind of story can play with instead of just having the villain jailed and out of the picture, which would pretty much be the only viable alternate otherwise.

I’d really like to see where this part of the story goes, and as cooled down as I’ve been with Duncan all through his escalating villainy (as well done as it was, with excellent dialogue!) I’ve got renewed interest in a world with all the consequences of his misdeeds contrasted with his presumably innocent reincarnation.

  • Jac

Please let the next arc of this story be the team raising Duncan as a superhero.

  • Takehai

Okay, I was expecting him to be young again (after all, the deal was to only open the portal, not guarantee Laampros would stay), but not that young. But of course, a demon would find a way to twist the deal so it wasn’t what was actually asked for — but wait, didn’t PP negotiate the deal in advance with Laampros? And hasn’t she had over two thousand years of dealing with demons to know about their tendency to take things literally in such a way to screw things up to their benefit? So who’s to say this isn’t her intended “reward” for Duncan?

  • Looking at Duncan around 15-16ish years old, he certainly has a growth spurt ahead of him. I think the reason that he looks younger than a teenager to several readers, is that he looks tiny in that outfit.

The first minutes I looked at the page, I thought he was a tween rather than a teenager, also because of his confused demeanor. It’s not until you take a good look at his face that he looks teenager.

  • JepMZ

Oh no, he beat the old out of him

    • NoiseShaper

The ruins of his abandoned life are scattered all around him…!

  • Omg, tiny Duncan is SO cute. 😀 I just wanna hug him and pinch his cheeks like an overbearing auntie at a funeral. I’ll bet that when The Annihilator made his bargain with Laampros he didn’t realize that THIS would be how it would work. I kind of half wonder if this is how it would’ve worked out either way, or if it was just kind of a last minute effort to spite Duncan by Laampros. Fulfill his end of the bargain, since Duncan did technically fulfill his, but then also muck it up a little bit because Laampros didn’t get to take over the world like he’d been planning.

I wonder if this version of Duncan still has his powers. And how the youth thing works. Is he just going to be perpetually this age forever? Is he just getting another shot at growing up? Will he ever get his memory back??

Also, I wonder how a younger version of Duncan who neither looks at all like the one who deceived, tricked, and abused Kyle and also doesn’t even remember Kyle let alone doing any of those things (if the memory loss is permanent rather than temporary) will affect Kyle. Just because Duncan doesn’t remember those things and is, in effect, a different person at the moment doesn’t mean that Kyle doesn’t remember and won’t still be affected by them. I personally know how that can be, although on a much smaller scale, and it is not fun at all.

    • Klaus

His personality will also have changed. He was not the experienced, suave rake at 15 that he was at 58.

  • Oh… my… lawd.
I wonder if he has no powers now? If he’s still strong and fast they could Recruit him!

  • heh.

    Jailbait, fore’er.

Yes — That is a curse. I agree (for sure).

    • Klaus

It could be worse. Remember Baby Herman?

    • Shadizar Silvermask

Not really, while me may look around 16 he’s not actually 16 but far older.

      • NoiseShaper

If his mind is indeed reset to the same age, his discarded years don’t really matter.

      • well, i know i enjoy duncan’s “far older” version than this little amnesiac twinkie boy we are being presented with here.

        l.m.f.a.o.

        • Wayne Lunkwitz

I have nothing against “Twinkies” OR “boys” but seriously….mixing the two in one delicious package……trouble…..with a capital “T”

  • Klaus

    On this page:
    http://webcomics.yaoi911.com/typ/ete-ch2-page-6/
Duncan talks about a defining moment. A moment of his life that had a great part in making him the person he is. This rises the question: does he remember this moment? Or has he been rewound past it?

    • Froya

Interesting thought. I like the idea that he has been “rewound” to before he had his defining moment, and this is his chance to choose good over evil.

      • NoiseShaper

It wouldn’t have been too late even afterwards, just harder.

        • Froya

It just seemed like older Anni thought it would have been too late, since he referred to it as a turning point/defining moment.

          • NoiseShaper

Of course that assessment already included all that happened to him and all the choices he actually made after that, so under different circumstances he might still have come to a different place in the end.

Kyle isn’t wanted by the adult teams because of psychological reasons. That’s why he’s on this team to begin with.

  • timemonkey

Depends on how spiteful one is feeling.

  • timemonkey

It might be after he got his powers, he lost them earlier from the power dampener exploding so he may still be depowered from that.

    • NoiseShaper

Yeah, it’s possible indeed. But story-wise it would be quite plausible, too, that Laampros had rewound him to the point where he was weak enough to be dealt with more easily.

      • Pietro7

That sounds like something Laampros would do.

  • Chris Dangerfield

    HA!

  • fujoshifanatic

Wow. So according to the deal, he is now stuck in perma-twink mode for life? That really sucks, especially if he is stuck at the age just before he developed his powers. And also, does that mean technically, he can’t die unless he is killed? Technically, that would take him out of Laampros’ hands, but still…

  • Pietro7

Oh, that REALLY sounds like something Sircea would do!

  • Saxon_Brenton

Y’know, recalling Annihilator’s description of his ‘secret origin’ as being a timid and bullied child who then got power and used it to get back at his enemies… Being turned back into a weak and gormless looking child with no powers would probably be the stuff of his nightmares.

On the one hand, that’s so perfect an example of a devil giving someone what they ask for but not what they want it’s hard to believe that it wasn’t deliberate on Laampros’ part. On the other, de-aging Annihilator to the point where he can’t remember that this is his personal Room 101 takes a bit of the sting out of it.

With that in mind, I’m tentatively prepared to call that Anni no longer has his powers but that his memory loss is simply temporary trauma. From Laampros’ point of view, it would be more fun that way.

  • Malusz

More than what happened, which seems obvious, how, when and why it did happen are of more interest to me. Who should also be of interest and explain how, why and when.
If it’s Laampros for instance, I’m really not sure when it happened. After all, the demon was attacked right after stepping out from that portal.
Since Duncan was out of sight for quite a long time and Circea fled, I wouldn’t put it past her to be the origination somehow. She manipulated him all the way after all, and you have to admit erasing his memory and maybe his powers would serve her well.

    • Klaus

I think that it is the contract itself that has the effect. Sealing the contract required both power and skill from Laampros. Once the contract was fulfilled, it took effect without Laampros needing to do anything more.

    • Wayne Lunkwitz

Well, the old saying comes to mind……”Be careful what you wish for.”…As I recall Annihilator wished for……eternal youth……on the bright side he wasn’t backed off all the way to diapers……now he only has to contend with puberty AGAIN!…..but the silver lining there is he may have the team to “help” with that!

  • Mary Kelleher

    God damn it, Fluke.

“Heeeey Duncan. Welcome to the future.”

  • jreed3842

I just re read the entire webcomic from the beginning back up to this point.
And man … Duncan betraying Kyle hurts just as much as it did the first time I read it!
And I’m a bit early to camp… so I’ll be back in a few hours! 🙂

  • Morgan

    Yesss, camping night!

    • jreed3842

I figured I was a little early, but I still had the window open.
If you’re here too, I may as well stick around!!

      Welcome to the Camp Grounds!

      • Morgan

Yeah, I thought it might be early too, but figured I’d try anyway. And thank you! How are you?

        • jreed3842

I’m pretty good! I had today off, so I’ve just been kinda relaxing.
I killed sometime by rereading this webcomic! I kinda forgot what the beginning pages were like. Haha. It’s been SOO long since I last read those pages.

          • Morgan

I reread it a little while back. It’s such a good story, and Kyle has grown so much since then.

          • jreed3842

Yeah, Alex does a wonderful job with all the characters. Even Duncan, as much as I hate his bitch-ass-hoe-ass-lyin-ass-punk-ass, has had a lot of development and growth. He is a good character…. but a total asshole. Haha

          • Morgan

Right? I’ve had so many conflict emotions about him.

    • Nofsky8

Aha, I actually forgot it was camping night until I turned on my computer and saw this, lol,

    • stickfigurefairytales

Hi Morgan! Care for some s’mores?

      • Morgan

Oh Stick that sounds wonderful. Thank you!

        • stickfigurefairytales

You’re very welcome! Just pass the bag of marshmallows along when you’re done with it. ^_^

  • davefragments

    Hi Campers.
How is it going tonight? I’m ready for more revelations about the side effects of Laampros’ attempted conquest of the world.

    • Saxon_Brenton

Eagerly awaiting Red Hot’s reaction. He’s been tricked by Annihilator before, so expect it will Commander who’ll have the calmly sceptical reaction.

      • davefragments

I think the Commander can sort it out for “Young Duncan” and Kyle.

      • jreed3842

I don’t think Duncan is faking amnesia… The last interactions Duncan had with Kyle was all “Oh, I really messed up blah blah blah” and another batch of deceit would not really help Duncan win Kyle back.
        I mean… I don’t think he’d ever win Kyle back…
But I do think Duncan has been given a chance to start over.

I am wondering though will he stay THIS age forever? Or will he age to a point of youthfulness, like… say mid-twenties and then stay THAT age forever?

I am excited to see what the next page holds!

        • jreed3842

But I do really like your theory that Laampros reverted him back to a point of “helplessness” with no powers and the memory loss is due to trauma…
Like… That would be a fate worse than death for Duncan, and I could see Laampros doing something like that.

          • Saxon_Brenton

It would be interesting to see how Anni would handle it. Like… panic attack, stoic fatalism, whining?
But I suspect that’s a reaction that’ll have to wait, and it’ll be Red Hot’s reaction we get Real Soon Now.

          • jreed3842

If he does have his memories still… Will he like… be dealing with the changes one goes through in puberty? Like will he have mood swings?
Or would his mind be developed enough to avoid stuff like that?
I am very interested in seeing on how Duncan takes on this new situation.

    • Nofsky8

Hi, it’s going pretty good for me, of course it’s a short week and we have like 7 days of school left so, it can’t really go wrong, (knock on wood,)

yeah, I’m mildly confused and waiting for an explanation,

      • davefragments

I thought you were near the end of the school year.

And yes, I’m hoping the next page gives an explanation

      • stickfigurefairytales

Best of luck finishing out the year!

        • Nofsky8

          Thanks!

    • Morgan

Hi Dave! Everything’s good here, how are you tonight?

      • davefragments

OK. A bit tired because I did too much today, but OK.

    • Doki just woke up.

      • davefragments

Hi there. I hope you’re feeling well tonight.

        • Not too bad, no longer cramping. ^_^

          • davefragments

            good.

          • stickfigurefairytales

            Glad to hear it.

          • Nofsky8

            Yay! Also, hi Doki,

          • Hi ^_^

  • davefragments

I hear rain on my roof. It’s rained for a week to ten days except for yesterday. The lawns like it but it’s too wet to mow. One of my neighbors depends on making hay o feed his horses and (as we all know) you only make hay when the sun shines.

    • jreed3842

Damn that’s a lot of rain.
We’ve been getting a lot of rain as well… but not quite as much as you.
The weekend was nice, a little cloudy and just a few minutes of rain on Sunday.
It was nice today, but I did notice some storm clouds in the distance not too long ago. But as of right now there’s no rain here!

      • davefragments

Pittsburgh gets rain this time of year. People say it rains because the Three Rivers Arts Festival starts but I think it just likes to rain in late May and early June.

        • jreed3842

I have my window open and I can hear thunder off in the distance… A storm is definitely coming!

    • Nofsky8

We tend to get rain on and off, so the ground doesn’t really dry out but it’s bright out, my plants love it, it’s nice that you can hear the rain,

      • stickfigurefairytales

I love going to bed or napping while hearing rain fall.

        • Nofsky8

          Yeah, that’s the best,

    • Morgan

I love the rain, but idk if I like it that much.

      • davefragments

yeah, we need four or five days of dry and sunny.

    • stickfigurefairytales

We’ve had a lot of rain here, too. My dad and I drove out to Providence this past weekend for my sister’s master’s graduation, and it rained pretty much the entire drive out and much of the way back.

    • The amount of rain is something that can’t be controlled, but it means a lot to some.

  • stickfigurefairytales

    Tiny bby Anni!!

    • davefragments

      Hi Stick,

      • stickfigurefairytales

        Hi Dave!

    • jreed3842

Welcome to the camp grounds! Always good to see ya!

      • stickfigurefairytales

Thanks, jreed! Always good to see you, too!

    • Nofsky8

Hi Stick, congrats on the Penguins winning,

      • stickfigurefairytales

That’s really more Dave than me, but thank you nonetheless!

        • Nofsky8

          oh, woops, sorry,

          • stickfigurefairytales

            No worries! 🙂

      • davefragments

        Stick’s Cleveland. I’m Pittsburgh.
I cheer for her basketball team because Pittsburgh has none. And besides, I like LeBron James

        • stickfigurefairytales

We do have a hockey team, but it’s a minor league one. Plus my mom is from Pittsburgh originally, so I’ve got that connection.

        • Nofsky8

I’ll remember that in the future,

          • davefragments

Don’t worry. I’m not a crazy fanatic, just a fan

          • stickfigurefairytales

The most important thing to know is that fans of (American) football in Cleveland HATE Pittsburgh’s football team. (Cleveland = Browns, Pittsburgh = Steelers) Way back when the Browns used to be good, there was a big rivalry between them. Nowadays, the Browns are so bad that I don’t think Pittsburgh even gives them a second thought.

I’ve never really gotten into U.S. football, though, so I can remain largely impartial.

          • Nofsky8

Yeah, we have a ton of teachers who like the Steelers,

          • stickfigurefairytales

I’m a big baseball and basketball fan, but I’ve always been kind of meh about football.

          • Nofsky8

I honestly don’t care about most sports, we always make an effort to watch the Kentucky Derby and it’s nice when a local team or my dad’s college team is doing well, but otherwise, meh,

    • Stick! *yawns* Just woke up from a nap. Did you see the other SGA fic I gave you?

      • stickfigurefairytales

Oh shoot, I still need to check that out! Thank you for reminding me! *hugs Doki*

        • It is really cute. ^_^

          • stickfigurefairytales

Ooooohh… I love the SGA fandom so, so much.

  • After a pretty cold spring, the last week and a half has been almost summerly most days, but on this last day of calendar spring it is almost a fall day.
Waking up to a *windy* and raining morning, yaay for having to go out in it in a couple hours -_-

Won’t get better before leaving this morning, but hope it improves before the late evening -at least that rain is gone. Going to a late show of Wonder Woman tonight (wohoo), and after that the bus nearest to me stops 2km away.
That’s 2km of mostly ‘open landscape’, meaning not much cover from the wind. A wind that can be worse where I live than other parts of the city, because I live next to the inlet/waterline. I could risk an involuntary ‘shower’ with my clothes on tonight xD

    • davefragments

Wonder Woman has good reviews and ratings.

    • stickfigurefairytales

I can’t wait to see Wonder Woman! I hope the weather does improve for you, though.

      • Nofsky8

Yeah, I’m dragging my brother with me to see Wonder Woman sometime in the near future,

      • Me too. It’s kinda ironic that the one day I have to be out late-ish after midnight, for a while, is tje first day the weather really sucks after over a week with fair or really great weather.
But can’t wait to see movie 🙂

  • Laampros’ deal took effect, and Duncan got his youth though not as he thought. This was kinda expected for me, but what I’m wondering about since this page was up has been up: how much is the dampener zapping his powers still in effect?

Will that detail also bite Duncan in the ass? Will he be young but powerless now? If so, forever or temporary?

  • stickfigurefairytales

Okay, taking a break for a quick shower. Be back soon!
